Learning about the history of these instruments, how they are played, and how they evolved... not just the physical instruments themselves, but the music, the teaching of the music, the writing of the music.... The cultural relevance, context, and impact... This is a true treasure. As a westerner, trying to learn this kind of information is extremely difficult. Please keep making these videos.
Could you please tell me a quality maker of Guqin instruments? What is a good wood choice? I already have a cherry wood table for it, should provide solid crisp tone refraction. I just LOVE the Chinese instruments. I've been a musician for 6 decades now playing and reading music of many instruments.

琴很好。可以传下去的手工级别。希望可以多一些纯手工的 大漆诗文琴、带书法 白描 印纹 的那种。日本藏的几个传世唐琴很漂亮。在唐代也是一些中低阶的。。高端流不出去。
最后琴谱吓死人。哈哈
一如即往的高水準製作，唯一美中不足的是“徵”字，想是字體缺字而不統一

中国文字是二维的，在琴谱里可见一斑。

@@zhd9355 我对语言学只有非常浅的了解，但是不赞同这种说法，所谓线性或者二维的描述就很单薄。
也就是说汉字是二维的，而字母文字只是一维的？
每一个汉子都是横、竖、点、提、撇、捺、钩、弯这八种基本笔画的二维堆砌。其他语言比如英语的每个单词是26个字母的一维排列。琴谱则是以单个汉字为基本元素的再次二维堆砌。其他的典型还有Biang Biang面的Biang字。
