kingrein5, thanks for a well thought out and presented review. A breath of fresh air when compared to the usual rambling 'reviews' so often posted to YT.
Also, I appreciate your concise, examples of what the Dinky can do -- good clean playing too!

    I just bought this guitar.
The guy i bought it of said he bought it to learn on and maybe played it 3 or 4 times and then just put in the gig bag and apparently it was just sitting there for years.
I have the tobacco burst version.
And this guitar in mint condition, you can tell it was barley used.
When i first picked it up i thought it was a brand new guitar straight off the show room floor, that's how good of condition it was in.
Needless to say,i love this guitar.
It's my first Floyd Rose, but the guys at my local music shop did the onxe over on it, and they said it was good to go.
I must have played it for hours when i first got.
    It's a fantastic guitar

I bought this guitar used less than a month ago. The guitar is literally 10 years old, and it still kicks ass. I don't know how it holds up to current-day Jacksons; I've never been much of a rig guy. I started playing guitar a very long time ago, left it for a very long time, and now I'm taking up playing guitar again. I want to get more serious about this, and I thought this would be the right guitar for the job. I THINK I made the right choice; I don't know. As I said, I'm not much of a rig guy. Anyway, I'm loving this guitar. It feels so much different from my old Epiphone. The neck is much thinner, and I never thought scale length would make that much of a difference, but well... it does, hahaha. Being able to downtune truly is cool; it just gives you many more sounds.
I struggled so much to find a review of this guitar due to how old it is, but this video is just very good. Thank you. And for anyone out there wondering if this particular model is still being played nowadays, I want you to know that it is. It's being shown love; I just have to improve my playing, that's all, hahahaha

Thank you for your comments. I enjoyed the guitar very much during the time I owned it. Unfortunately, I had to sell it off a few years back. I can relate to your not being much of a "rig guy" as you could probably have guessed in my demo. I just kept it simple going through the amp with nothing in between. Thanks again for your comments and viewing my video.

I have one in white. Replaced the pickups with a Seymour Duncan Distortion Bridge and DiMarzio Liquifire Neck. Gave some shielding and now my guitar has a awesome tone and singing leads. I was surprised how much potential this guitar could show when you tinker it. A 300 dollar guitar sounding like a 2000 dollar custom shop model. Badass. \m/ Awesome review man. Never regretted getting it.

i've had the js32t kelly for 2 years now, and i have to say that the js series are extremely good for what you pay. the neck has all the jackson feeling, the pickups are pretty good as well, and the build quality is very solid. in terms of sound: the indian cedro body wont make it a permanent choice if you are audiophile, it's a bit dull sounding compared to mahogany/maple combination guitars for exemple. still a good guitar, i didnt regret buying it at all. full recommendation for beginners!

I'm really into buying these guitar but i have some things that i'm sure about this guitar:
    does the floyd be stable?
i'm an hard rock player (think skid row, evh, etc) and will a dimarzio x2n and air norton be good match to this guitar?
I saw in the video that the floyds looks stable.
    good video

Cool stuff, did you buy the JS30 over the JS23 specifically because of the fixed bridge, or for another reason?

  • @reservedhogs4735
    @reservedhogs4735 9 лет назад

I bought one of these, and it's very annoying that the volume control is directly under the bridge. I often hit it while playing live, so I removed it and turned my tone control into a volume control.

I'm looking into a mid ranged (300 - 500 bucks guitar) And I want to get the most amount of value for the price. I looked into this one and it seems really good. But I heard really mixed reviews about it. Some love it some say it's bad. Can anyone tell me if it is really good for the price or if there are better deals

@theDETLERS I own it, and it works perfect. But you may need to tighten up the lock nut screws on it when you get it. Mine was a little loose. After I tightened it, it stayed in perfect tune no matter what I do to it. Seriously dude, this guitar is amazing, you should buy it

@flowerdrop1 The Jackson bridges just need a bit more love than other floyds. I spent about a week getting to know the tension on mine. Now it stays in tune perfectly. I went from Drop C to C# about a week ago and I'm still perfectly in tune.

depends on how good its set up and on how frequently you use it. it's of course not a high quality trem, but as long as you dont abuse it for 15 minutes straight you'll be fine

  • @fulleffect121

@SkyDelta52 So why does the JS32R have Tremolo and the JS32RT doesn't? Shouldn't the JS32RT have the tremolo being that it has the "T" at the end?.

I have a Jackson JS32 Dinky and I love it. Mine has a Tune-o-matic bridge with string-through body because I just don't like the Floyd Rose feel and design. I have an Ibanez RG and I love their Edge Pro tremolo MUCH better. Anyway, that Jackson is a great guitar at a great price.

Been over 2 years since posting and finally hopped on to check things out. Thanks for all of the nice comments and hope it has (& will be) useful. Still enjoy playing the guitar and at the time I needed something to develop my whammy bar skills that wasn't too pricey. Quality, feel and design were all there for a decent price. Great for the 70s/80s rock I enjoy playing. And folks got it right...opening music clip, It's Not Love (Dokken), closing music clip The Hellion (JP). Keep Rockin!

That's a dinky reverse pro I do believe. They are more expensive than the dinky. I got one also. The one I have is solid gloss black they usually range from about 500 to 900 hundred dollars. I can tell by the chrome tremolo and the covered Jackson stock pick ups. The pick ups are cociderably better than on the regular js32 Jackson stock. Noiseless pick ups are better because less hum from the amp.

Personally this guitar is pretty good. The Les Paul would be my choice though because 1. I don't have any needs for a 24 fret. 2. The weight of it isn't as heavy as you think, maybe you say it is but I prefer something heavy over anything light any day. 3 I could switch out the pick-ups and such because I am able to do so, hence the term, Les Paul Custom
