Favourite line in the song "We're all misguided individuals, life can.... suck it! My cup aint half full.. I'm filling up the whole.. bucket!"
It's a good one!
Ren talked about the frustration of putting out a song and then experiencing a kind of disconnect because he' has already mentally moved on from the song by the time it comes out. Power was created and filmed rather spontaneously with two cell phones for cameras. He recorded the song and quickly released it and now it is one of his fan favorites.
Also one of his own personal favorites.
This is my sing at the top of my lungs in the car song. Must look at sight - grey haired 60 something year old woman. Love hearing your take on Ren’s music. “Through the walls I heard love dying” - that line gets me every time.
It's a good line! Glad to hear you letting go to it! Never change that!
Ren put this out right after his break with management. He was really frustrated with all the control and greed involved in the process. He wanted to just write it, film it and put it out without concetn for all the promotion antics. So he did it very quickly with the 2 cell phobes and friend Sam. And it really worked!
BTW, Ren's whole team was in Calgary doing the last live stream before finding out he got the #1 album in UK, and they all sang this, with repeat over the " never had a top 10" . It was so beautiful! Bunch of happy bois 💙 💖 ❤
Awesome to hear, Frances! Thanks for telling me about it.
There’s a definite difference in the amount of music he’s recording & releasing since he left his management company. 💜
One of the best places to go to understand Rap/Hip hop is with one of the best breakdown reactors on YT and that is Knox Hill, he unpacks Ren's rap and lyrics like no other. I am not a rapper and before Ren couldn't stand most of it, however both Ren and Knox Hill have given me an insight to the art like no others. Its worth checking out Knox's reactions to Ren. Knox has become a personal friend of Ren and attended the filming of Money Game Part 3. Always enjoy your reactions sir. Have a great day. Kia kaha from NZ
Knox Hill is the fastest pauser on You Tube. I normally don't enjoy too man pauses. There are some reactors who will never pause a song but of those who do, Knox and Izzy are my favourites.
Rap/Hip Hop was just noise to me until Ren----and Knox Hill.
seconded!
Thanks for the kind words guys. I'll take a look at some of his reactions.
@@bonnievonbraun6276 was into public enemy, LL cool J and others, but hated the moet and hos crap / no message.
Thank you 🙏❤ Izzy ❤ for your 🐷 Ren - 🚗 Power reaction! #ren #samuelperryfalvey #power #bristol #brighton
Party in a car with Samuel Perry-Falvey and Ren.
This track and the video are a bop. It makes me smile to watch it, even with the sound muted. Ren has such freedom in his movement when he makes music. Even his face dances, and he's so comfortable about it. If I didn't know the song, I could "hear" the music just by watching Ren.
Ren and his camera man Sam in a car with a good beat. All that is needed 🤩
This is in my top 5 of his. Him and Sam grooving to this is fab!
This song and his Hold On are my favorite VIBE songs from Ren!!!
HIGHLY Recommend ya do his Hold On and Ready for You!!!
I'll see if I can get to those soonish, Woody. Thanks.
Great reaction Izzy. “Big fish, little fish, cardboard box” bit was hysterical. Have a good one. 😉❤️✌️
Haha! Thanks Abby! All the best to ya!
Thanks Izzy. I love this track. it's so catchy and cleverly written and produced as you would expect from our brilliant Ren ❤
Thank you!
I love this song-great message, love the beat, and hearing some of Ren’s history. For me, Ren’s music uplifts my spirits because he includes the harshness of life and still appreciates living. Hope you are well, Izzy. Chin up.
Thanks Jeanne! All good here! Hope you are good too!
I admire reactors that can express their honest opinion and say they don't care for a song. What I like about you is that you also give us feedback on what you did like. My husband use to coach youth hockey and when a kid made a mistake he would point it out to them but he also told them what they did right.
Thanks! It's a great way to work, teach and learn! Great stuff!
Ren's lyrics are always thought-provoking. Can't wait to hear your podcast! 💜💜

One of my favorite Ren tunes!
Great reaction as always, appreciate this, thank you 🙏🦉❤️🐊👍
Thanks!
It is amazing when we realize what we don’t know, quite sobering I’d say.
If you’re a true artist, you have faith in your expression, but most want recognition and/or money.
You sound like an artist. 👍
Thanks mate! I think I am.
Yes, you have to show up. It’s what fascinates me about Eminem. He’s always been a rebel in his public persona but so many musicians have talked about working with him and all have said the same thing-he treats music like a job. He goes to the studio every day from 9am - 5pm and takes an hour lunch. That blew my mind.
Discipline is more reliable than motivation. It's how all the greats work, I think. Although there is the illusion it's just all inspiration.
Isaac Asimov used the same method to write over 500 books.
just KNEWWWWW you were going to say the 'big fish, little fish, cardboard box' thing at that point hahahaaaa. great reaction as always dude, apart from being a fun track (with serious lyrics in there) i just love the creativity of the video, just a couple of mobile phones in a car to record ren and sam driving around! simple but effective and looks pretty good!
Haha! It does work well, doesn't it!
I appreciate your analogies Izzy, this kind of production is not everyone's cup of tea but I appreciate your attention to the detail!❤
Thanks, Jessie!
It makes me ponder what rens life and career would be like if he hadn’t had his illness? An old Scottish saying What’s for ye won’t pass ye by
It's a good saying and I agree.
I really think music saved Ren's life. He essentially found his own answers when doctors couldn't help him, he found his own way. Music was , and is , his life. Gonna check out the podcast Izzy, I too love the lyrics in music as well. I enjoy instrumentals, like smooth jazz especially, but always gravitate back to songs with lyrics. One of the reasons I enjoy Ren so much, he is a master at the lyrics, and I have even learned to enjoy his rapping, because of the lyrics. Never liked much rap before Ren. On to the Podcast! thanks for your thoughts, enjoyed it.
Thanks Beverly! Thanks for your thoughts also. Here's a link to ep 1, incase you haven't found it yet.. ruclips.net/video/ZZqYa__vqng/видео.html

Being creative is how the soul breathes--I like that.
I appreciate your thoughts on this. I know what you mean about those high frequencies, I had the same first reaction but this song has grown to be one of my absolute favourites. I'm excited to hear about your podcast!
Thanks! ruclips.net/video/ZZqYa__vqng/видео.html
I'm over half a century old and never into rap until I came across Ren the reason I love what he does is because he actually has something to say but also his character you can feel it wether he's serious or been checky
Like how many artists have such a wide range of ages 🤔🫠
❤
Ren definitely found his power and we’re just lucky we get to experience the results of it ❤
What a bop, and really fine lyrics! Always love the conversation you have around the songs you react to. Excited about the podcast!

He is a lyrical genius ❤
Great fun video 😅. Thanks Izzy
Thanks, Sandra!
This is one of my favorite ren songs!
I love it!
I love the best behind it
Ren uses samples (mostly of himself) and tweaks them around to produce the beats, and background. Marry that to a good vocabulary, excellent rhyme, and an inner metronome----Voila! It's that word rhythm, that cadence that catches us. Shakespeare ( or Bacon, or Edward de Vere, or . . .) would have been a natural rapper. 😉
True words, Bonnie!
I've been waiting for you to get to this one. Love your introspective views on music and life. ;-)
Thanks, Kevin!
I like your honesty with the type of music. I felt the same the first time I heard this song. Ren will often put deep thoughts to an upbeat or light-hearted track. I was getting dressed one morning and this song came on and I wasn't really focused on the lyrics and found myself moving to the beat. Now this is one of those songs I listen to to get pumped up. I'm curious if you could listen to it again in full, not focused on the lyrics. Does the rhythm move you better in that way?
Not that you have to like it. Just wonder if you would feel it differently.
Oh yeah, the rhythm of the track is great. It's just the high pitched "power" that I'm not a big fan of. But it's a minor gripe. It's a great track.
rhythm and blues, RAP. I never much liked it but like REN
👍🏽🐷✌🏼
As a working travel photographer I have always struggled with the balance between shooting for my own vision versus capturing images in a style I know would attract more attention. There's a fine balance between your own honesty and needing people to like you/your work. The older I get the more I realise there will probably be enough people who resonate with your own truths to make it worthwhile putting work out there and hopefully the power of the algorithm gets it in front of those people. A bit like putting out your thoughts on music tracks on the RUclips hey :)
Exactly like that mate! It’s great to have these platforms. Authenticity seems to go a long way. And even if it didn’t, it’s better to try and live and work from your own truth ain’t it. That way at least the journey you’re having is your own.
@@IzzyIzenstain hah I lead photo tours so my journey is theirs too 🤣🤣🤣
A big fish a little fish a cardboard box. 😂😂😂. I will never forget that now.
Haha!
It's just a cue/prep sound(s) before launching into a Rap. I'd do it to as you said to lock into the timing of the beat. First time someone has ever asked, Kudos! Great Reaction as always!
Thanks for the clarification and for watching! Nice one!
Love where Ren's lyrics send you! ❤
Congrats on the Podcast! I'll be listening.

One of my favourite Ren songs. Like you, I’m no expert, rap is not my usual genre. But I love this hook, the message, and the power of its simplicity.
I'm enjoying exploring the genre. Gonna reacted to NF soon, and maybe some others.
Nice work guys, it comes from genes of music man 😂🔊🎤🎸🎼🚀
He produced alot of his own material.
Love this from Ren. Such an honest and uplifting song
I personally like how it's a moving bop, although not exactly my style of music, I can still enjoy the energy of it. I find the high Oo-oohs to replicate a synth sound from produced vocals of Ren. I like your honesty on how you find Ren a great artist, but every piece you've listened to hits your interests differently. Keep up the good job!
Thanks, Sanford!

Man, sorry for all the text, but your line about being creative is how the soul breathes, echoes my favourite line ever.
It’s all about expression - Jazzie B.
It's a good line!
I jam to this one in the car a lot!!!
I can see why!
This is probably my favourite Ren rapping song apart from maybe "Seven Sins". If it wasn't for Ren I would listen to very few Rap songs. I agree with
@activelyopen8468 when he says that you should listen to this while doing something else and without interruptions although your pauses are usually full of interesting commentary. I have found that most Ren songs don't land for me immediately. I have to immerse myself in the music and I do that by watching Ren reactions like yours. I never get the lyrics first time and I never try to. For reactors it is different. You need to at least attempt to follow the words. I don't care about lyrics until I have heard the music maybe twenty times. I think this may be a generational thing as I was a teen during the latter part of the 60s when lyrics were often so strange we all thought they probably didn't mean anything. "We skipped the light fandango." is one good example of obscure lyrics. I have also noticed that women usually catch the lyrics of songs before men do.
Yes! You just described my thoughts exactly. Being 16 in 1969 was a gift, the music from about '64 on is the soundtrack of my life.
@@toniyoung5131 You are the same age as me. I see the late 60s and maybe the early 70s as a musical highlight of my life. It had an effect on my comparable to the effect Ren has. Some random guy tried to ridicule me elsewhere when I said that. I didn't bother explaining it as it was a very personal view and I would have had to share more of myself than I wanted to.
I used to go to see what I called Underground music partly because I lived in London then and used the underground rail system to get to see these bands. Like Ren's music it wasn't commercial. Most of those artists never made it big. What am I saying? You almost certainly know most of this already.
I'm the same with listening to new music usually. It's the music and then the lyrics come later. But I'm enjoying the process I've developed through doing these reactions. And of course I pay special attention to Ren's lyrics because he always has something interesting to say. With other artists, I tend to just see what grabs my attention first. Actually, I'm not sure if I do pay special attention, or if it's just his lyrics that grab me first. My Seven Sins reaction is recorded and will be out next week. It's a long one! Didn't realise how much I had to say about it until the end and I saw the time.
"Through the walls I heard love dying" ugh.... 💔
I'm also intrigued by religious texts, especially the Bible. Not because I think it's touched by anything divine, but because it/they have persisted. These are the stories/messages/lessons our ancestors thought were important to teach to the next generation. Why? Really interesting to try to understand their perspective- understanding, of course, that these texts have been mistranslated and edited (by conservative white men) many times before reaching my eyes. Which is in itself interesting. I love books and stories, so how can one not be curious about the one(s) most read, most printed, most distributed over thousands of years? Very cool.
Yeah, very true Lisa. And if you look further back, a lot of the stories are even older than the bible or Christianity. It’s fascinating stuff.
0:28 I've wondered the same.
1:10 good thought.

@@IzzyIzenstain Sorry about that. Last time I checked you had not listed it on the ren reactions folder. You pretty much worked your way through the primary Ren releases, except perhaps for Suicide, Genesis and The Hunger. What am I saying? I’m leaving out Seven Sins and a few others. Keep up the good work. On a sidenote, I told my wife you look like Brad Pitt, but she doesn’t see it. L O L
@@ericpetty8387 No worries, Eric! I sometimes miss adding them to the playlist to begin with. And yeah, plenty of Ren still to get through. Seven Sins coming on Tuesday. A few people have said I look like Brad Pitt in the last year or so. Which I'll take! It took me a while to see it, and if I'm honest, I can only see it with Brad Pitt in Snatch.
Who was it said; "You can please some of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time..."?
Observance: I am surprised you did not note that Sam is driving on the wrong side of the car in this video? I can only presume the video is flipped for some reason?
It was John Lydgate who said that and he was a 15th century English monk and a poet. It took me almost a whole year to notice that the video inside the car is flipped.
Flipped because it's recorded on phones.
@@LoutTsu Yes, that would explain it.

What is your question about rap? I didn’t understand your question. It was certainly an interesting time for Ren as he was sick as a dog. Have you watched seven deadly signs? It’s deep and he even has a line Jesus died at 33 and here I am still suffering!
I was referring to the "uh" noise rappers seem to make at the beginning of songs, and I was wondering why they do it. My Seven Sins reaction is out now. You may have seen it, but if not, here it is..

@@IzzyIzenstain oh cool no I haven’t seen it yet. I’m gonna check it out. It’s my understanding that they do that while gathering their thoughts to think of rhyming words and the scheme that they’re going to use. Instead of just sitting there with no noise or sound they’re creating a beat. Are you familiar with Harry Mack? If not you need to check him out. It’s mind blowing! He’s a white male, probably his 40s and he’s considered the best freestyle rapper in the world I think at this point it’s not even debatable. Of course you’ll find someone who will just need to be a contrarian but you know what I’m saying. He is independent like Ren it has turned down lots of money to stay independent. He has a series called Omega bars that he did 100 episodes and retired the series and now he has one called gorilla bars where he just walks up to people on the street says freestyle for you? They see like an old white guy and are skeptical and he asks for any where between three and 3: words and then he corporate them into his wrap he never stutters or misses a bee. It’s crazy but anyway, he starts all his shows out like that. Uh ahh uh uh ahhh and he has commented on it now I don’t know if that’s how it originated or everyone does that but it’s relatively common. Oh one last thing there’s a reactor in the US named disco doc. He’s like a retired professor, but his reviews are funny and they’re well researched and amazing. He does quite a bit of rain songs and he breaks down some of the bars completely different than I seen anyone else do it . Well Ren started a new channel not long ago. I think it’s called not Ren or Ren not Ren . But anyway there’s a reaction of him watching disco dock breakdown all of his songs. I guess a fan asked him to do it so him being him was like sure what the hell and he said I like this song power let me click on that one and the guy starts talking in this robot voice. He says this shit is gold already. This is effing gold.! Did he get to the part? I hate to see my mom alone. My dad was like shallow. I heard the sound of love dying… he started breaking that part down his expression changes. I think you’d really enjoy it and I don’t plug other people pages on reactors pages so apologies for that but he really is unique and puts a lot of effort into it and it’s quite enjoyable and if you do check it out, I would like to know your thoughts. Nice chatting with you again. Talk to you soon, my friend. I’m gonna check out seven sins. One of my favorite Ren songs. Powerful. I think my favorite are Genesis and murderer live and castles made of sand followed by Crutch with Bibi. Hope all is well mate.
@@JoeYo77 Thanks Joe! Not familiar with Harry Mack. I'll look into it. Nice one!
Interesting what you said there at the end do you think he just sits down and writes a song? I don’t know if you saw that that he did with King Dotta and Knox hill but basically he said that you in seven months with just a flick of my wrist is how long it took me to write that. I think he is so talented he can just think of a topic and just do it. I know he’s mentioned he’s wearing shitload books. I guess that’s what you do when you’re in bed for a decade and he said at one point he was riding like 20,000 words a day is super smart. I mean he’s obviously super smart. I mean you’re very smart as well. I guess some people it has to come to them like osmosis actually it’s my belief that that’s most people comes to writing music however I think he is one in a billion. I don’t want to sound like a fan boy but it blows my mind one the amount of material that he has and that he puts out into if I just click on the song I don’t know if it’s from five years ago seven years ago eight years ago, 10 years ago yesterday even. It’s like even though he’s only become real popular over the last 18 months he’s been this good for a decade in my opinion. I mean his voice has improved. Some you can tell but aside from that is acting is probably improved but musically he’s just so gifted. I don’t know. Maybe I’m overstating it but I think we should all agree. He’s special. Anyway, post me that link to the podcast when you get around to it I’d like to check it out all right buddy. See you soon. Cheers.
@@JoeYo77 Some songs come quick, others take work. I think I mis-spoke and what I meant was, it's not my favourite way to work, sitting down pressuring myself to write something.
