I love how realistic this is, because it indeed happens a lot in real life. In fact, it is a symptom that your relationship is already becoming toxic. I also love the so many realistic paradoxes it present. It is really petty since its just over about who should get the tab, but on the other hand no its not. Its about something more. Its about what should be gender-specific roles in a relationship. Its not about money, but at the same time it is really about money. It is not that the other could not afford the tab, but in actuality they both could barely afford it. And yet, they still decided to eat at a fine dining restaurant.
I think it's also the fact the man just wanted to feel attention. It was never about the money or the bill in this case. It was about him feeling special for once.

I had a lot of respect for the guy, but when he got up to and apologised to the girl and asked her to sit down…. He shouldn’t have done that. But I also see what he did there, he ended up paying coz the girl didn’t had money at the first place. I have seen the film while ago. Did he dump the cow afterwards or not?
