- The Russian Winged Orbital Launch Vehicle, a visionary project by the Soviet Air Force, aimed for a horizontal takeoff/horizontal landing, reusable space launch system akin to conventional aircraft. Developed by Mikoyan from 1960 to 1976, it featured a reusable hypersonic air-breathing booster, two expendable rocket stages, and the Spiral manned spaceplane. Hindered by inadequate government funding, it only reached subscale flight tests by the mid-1970s. Development ceased in 1976, giving way to the Buran, a Soviet version of the U.S. space shuttle. However, the concept saw a resurgence in the 1980s as the MAKS spaceplane, embodying technological evolution and human perseverance in aerospace innovation.

This is not just M-4, this is VM-T (a M4 modified to transport large cargo on its back, like the Shuttle-carrying Boeing 747)

Отличная работа, Автор!!!!! Есть только один нюанс, в конце видео показан самолёт сопровождения имеющий облик истребителя СУ - 27, или его семейства, но дело в том что тогда этих самолётов ещё не было в серийном производстве , Были перехватчики МИГ-25 и СУ-15, истребители СУ-17, МИГ-21, МИГ-23. А в остальном - отличная работа!!! :)
Когда бы "Спираль" начала полеты Су-27 уже был бы)) как много "бы"))
@@red_star1 она не летала, были проблемы с двигателями самолёта-разгонщика, до полётов дело не дошло.

Imagine how good it would be for humanity if all countries cooperated in space, and not competed. We would have lived on Mars by now, I have no doubt.
Except this literally isn’t a case.
There was an episode when two superpowers were competing all the time and progress was mindblowingly fast.
There was an episode when they cooperated and resulted in constant budget cuts, shortenings and eventual devolution.
@@oliwierkwiatkowski8817 There was such progress because the USSR was a socialist state. But this is not the whole world, it wasn't even 1 billion people, but I meant the whole planet, collective cooperation.

@@MrCraigfessthat had nothing to do with it. Why do you think the US won the cold war? Because they simply decided to outspend Russia. Their economy was able to sustain an unimaginable amount of R&D even if it was just for show. That's because the US is a capitalist country. Communist Soviet Union wasn't able to keep up with this and it's a large reason it eventually failed.
And as in regards to global cooperation in space. We are doing so in the areas where it's sensible. But other than observing and mapping space there's not much where cooperation has many advantages compared to a healthy competition. It was literally the competition between the Soviet Union and the US trying to first reach space and later the moon which drove the whole space race. Cooperation would likely have gotten us nowhere at that time.
And now the days of the private space industry have come. So the time for governments to be involved in actually occupying space is over. Private companies from any nation can compete now which opens up a whole new range of possibilities. Not to mention millions if not billions of jobs in the future.
Cooperate where it's necessary sure. But competition is the ultimate driver for human progress.
всё великолепно, да такой проект был и полноразмерные копии орбитального истребителя на ракетных носителях забрасывали в космос, - но только для отработки пасадок и испытания теплозащитных пластин...
- но, Союз -Россия отказались от этой военной програпммы...
- а позднее документация по этому проекту была выкуплена (западом) и сейчас используется для создания уже их версии орбитального бомбера!-)))

Magnificent - Unbelievable that it is a 50 year old technology.
The subscale, flight test model, BOR-4, was flown in the early 1980s. Four orbital flight tests were done between 1982 and 1984, launched from conventional rockets. No full scale, flyable space plane was developed though.

Wow. The chase plane sequence was especially nice, and the lighting during the landing sequence was glorious. Clearly, given the missile launch, this is part of a movie, with either a East/West conflict, an alien attack, a rogue comet, or some gigantic Soviet Godzilla rampaging. I insist, insist mind you, on seeing the rest of the movie. With excited Russian in the background. Magnificent!

Есть еще один интересный факт. По этой программе испытывался и запускался в космос прототип перехватчика. Бор-4 и 5. А так же испытывался в воздухе прототип при посадке. Но так как там было лыжное шасси (боялись что при входе в атмосферу шины не выдержат нагрева). Лапы шасси постоянно ломались об бетон взлетно посадочной полосы. Что делать? В итоге взяли на ближайшей арбузной станции кучу арбузов и разбили все это по всей длине взлетной полосы. И сажали аппарат на эту скользкую мешанину как на масло.
проще было из твоей деревянной будки из дырки набрать то, что ты за долгие годы откладывал. хоть какая-то польза была бы.

If a vehicle such as this was developed, I think bombing would be at the very bottom at the list of practical uses. I don't see any advantage this gives over an ICBM. But for rapid and low cost access to orbit, it would be incredible!
And of course excellent work as always on your end. I like the (mostly) focus on camera angles that could actually be obtained.

Nice use of the MSFS ;) And incredible modelling on the spacecraft system itself. Do have to say some of the VFX did not match that usual quality level of yours and took me a little out of it, like the heat blur during the runway start sequence
so many fine details. From the slight wing waggle down the slightly uneven runway to the marks on the canopy.

K otázce voleb, bych chtěla podotknout. Je třeba určitě jít. V situaci, v které se nacházíme je to nutné. Máme sice jasno koho nechceme, ale zároveň se musíme dívat na to že lokální proces nelze zavézt ihned. Přála bych si , ale nejsou proto zatím podmínky Ty je třebaže vytvořit . Zničit systém volbou i třeba Okamury , který má v programu jakž takž výstupu z EU. Posílí to východ, sjednotit se v něm i když věřím že jsou v malých perspektivní názory. Volám k jednotek ta rozbíjí útlak. Sjednotit se na kandidátovi a po té dosadit odborníky. Povolovat šrouby...

Yes, that is the project "Spiral". Plans for the spaceplane from this program were sold to the americans in 90s and, later, revived as Dream Chaser

Love the little touches like cranking the volume when the jet exhaust plumes pass the camera. What's taxiing on the other runway in that shot? Looks like a cargo jet, but I didn't see engines to determine which one. So maybe another retro-future concept from a past or future video?

Наконец вышло видео о этом чудесном аппарате , видео сделанно уже как по настоящему снятый фильм , некоторые кадры вообще трудно отличить от реально снятых , только один минус форма боевых головок неправильно сделана , форма re-entry vehicle должна выполнена конусом или чем-то подобным .

Важно то, что мы это планируем и нет никаких причин сомневаться, что это будет сделано. Особенно тем, кто 30 лет использовал наши возможности для отправки в космос. Тем более тем, у кого обычный-то флот загнулся. Не в обиду.
An amazing conception. It's understandable why this contraption wasn't funded but it would have changed the direction of everything if they'd pushed it through. Not buying the skids, though.
The skids are not that bad when used as intended: lubricated with halved watermelons.
