How to disable keyless entry on Range Rover Sport L494 ( prevent car being stolen)

- In this video we show you how to de activate the keyless entry feature on the new Range Rover Sport L494 from 2014 on. This is a good idea if you are worried about car thieves stealing your car by amplifiying the key signal from inside your house etc.

Got my defender delivered today, Tried it and worked perfectly. On new defenders it flash headlights 3 time each time when you disable or enable the key. Thanks a lot for this tip. 🙏

Works great, thank you. For the ones having difficulty, LEAVE the driver door open while doing the manipulation. Won’t work otherwise.
Omg! Tried this and it worked on my new Range Rover Sport HST 2022. Damn I was about to call the dealership and ask them what happened cause it was working before… the driver’s door really has to stay open for this trick to work. Thanks man!

Appreciate you guys and thanks for the tip, however it's not working for me. 2016 RRS HSE Diesel. Located in USA. Any ideas on how yo get this sorted please? Depress headlight button 3x then unlock once. Does not do anything and can still open using just my hand on the door handle. Hope you can help

thanks worked great.... then I did it a couple of times to test it which worked.
Next time I tested it after a couple of hours it does a double beep after hitting the 'light' button three times then the the "lock' button and a double indicator flash when I hit the 'light' button three times then the the "unlock' button. The reactivation of the keyless entry doesn't work. Do you know the cause of this or the solution?
Supereurochic Leave the driver door open, mate. I tried many times too and had the indicator flashing. Then I open the driver door, did the manipulation again and it worked.
Worked on my 2021 Range Rover Velar.

Make sure you do it will all keys for the car, not just the one you use
I have 2014 L405 and my Keyless entry is not working. I have checked that all the four door handles have sensor in them. Tried your method above, but seems to have no effect whatsoever. TIA for any info I can get.

yes most likely this will work - i cant test as our Evoque does not have keyless entry !

If you can find out how to disable/deactivate the Auto Folding Mirrors, that would be appreciated. I don’t need mine to fold when I lock the Car and being a JLR Mechanical Part, it’s just a matter of time before it breaks! 😂

But disabling the keyless method can they still grab (suck) the signal from the key? Is the key still 'chatting' to the car?
No, it now only emits the signal when you press your unlock button.
@@captainjacksparrow6881 I thought so. So by disabling keyless entry it means they cant steal the signal and gain entry to your car?
@@CrueLoaf anytime you send a signal to the car from the key, a thief can steal the code. They can also steal the code without you using your key. It’s been done before,

Why did you order a keyless entry in the first place?
Good question... maybe the keyless comes on certain spec levels with features you want.
Maybe when you ordered it there was not a problem with theft ?

What about doing the opposite? I can’t seem to open the car without pushing the button to open or lock it.
Interesting - maybe a battery disconnect and leave for 10 mins - then reconnect ?
@@L663 like in the remote? Because the remote unlocks the car fine when I push the unlock or lock button.

When u come into Ur house put Ur key in a metal box like tobacco box will block any signal

L663 you know the sort of people this video is on about total scumbags who break into things wirelessly that's my nextdoors my dad put his key in old Virginia box I have to put my phone in a biscuit box or els the WiFi would turn itself on in middle of night same as boiler because that's Bluetooth and would turn on while sleeping

I tried doing it again and this time it works!

Why? Key less entry is a future and you want to disable it? Keyless entry works only in the range of two meters away from car and serious insurance companies never suggest to actually press the buttons on remote as signal works up to 30 meters away and the signal can be stollen by someone sitting in the next parked vehicle. In my opinion and in opinion of most insurance companies you should avoid pressing buttons on your remote. Investigate better!
The problem is that the keyless entry transmitter is always transmitting - the signal can be "sucked" out of the house and relayed to your car - then the car can be opened.
For someone to intercept the push signal they have to do this when you are there opening the car... and the code changes every time... you cannot do this in the middle of the night.
This is kinda pointless. Thieves figured out how to steal keyless entry codes before proximity keys were created. The key doesn’t need to be transmitting a signal to the car for them to steal the code. They have a device that allows them to literally send commands to cars while in a parking lot and whichever car unlocks, they will have the code.
I have seen some of these things advertised !
Even better if they didn't provide such utterly ridiculous and unnecessary technology in the first place.
