The album that this song is on, is a concept album. Each song is another part to a story that the vocalists actually wrote themselves. (It’s a real book now). The video makes a little more sense knowing that little fact
I own the book but keep forgetting to read it, I gotta get on that because this is my altime favorite story ever told through music and actually all three albums are in my top 3 favorite albums ever. I have an extremely hard time choosing which of Confessions and A Place Where the Sun is silent are my #1 both do different things for me, I can't do anything if I am listening to A.p.w.t.s.i.s. because it captivates me each and every single time I listen to it, where confessions I listen to more often and I love to mow the lawn to or listen well I drive. Both all three albums I can put on if I am going to bed but I won't really sleep if A Place w.t.s.i.s. is on. There isn't anything like the Annabel trilogy in all of music and that's what makes them so damn good :) I think tomorrow if I get a chance I am going to start the book and I am sure I will neglect life a bit after that because I will be hooked until I finish it.
My brother was in this band and left right before this cd. Cool to see people reacting to them. They are the greatest guys every. Too bad you missed them in their prime. Hope you do more by them.
Firstly, I can’t even describe how happy I am to see an Alesana reaction. Secondly, I freaking loved and enjoyed hearing your thoughts and comments on aspects of the band, keep up the amazing work dude
Yo Alesana has to be one of my all time favorite bands, been listening since middle school. It’s the same with DGD. More Alesana reactions would be sick. Been enjoying the vids, man! Keep it up :)
Josh here from Mighty Vices. Just happened to meet Alex over Facebook but it’s just rad that a band that I’ve loved for so long, I find a way to interact with one of the members and they were everything you hope for when meeting an idol. Alesana shaped my personality as my Emo days began and me and Alex were both in the marines. But yeah, nothing but respect for these artists. They truly push the envelope in the genre.
The album this is from, The Emptiness, is one of my favorite albums of all time. 10 years later and I'm still dying to get the cover art on my arm or thigh. Idk if anyone said this yet but the album is a concept album based on their interpretation of Annabelle Lee by Edgar Allan Poe
Will forever get chills listening to this album. Maybe I’m biased cause the album tells a story based on Edgar Allan Poe’s Annabel Lee, which is my favorite, but it’s still one of the most well written albums I’ve ever heard
The Emptiness is such a great album, and Where Myth and Frail Wings are amazing too...for some reason I couldn’t get into any of their music since The Emptiness, and those were like my favourite albums at the time! “Apology” will be a great song to react to :)
SkillJim That's kinda sad because A Place Where the Sun is Silent has some of the best music Alesana has ever made. Confessions is great too. I get it though. I LOOOOOOVE Alesana's recent stuff, but On Frail Wings and Myths will always be my favorite.
@@richardsinclair7661 I've tried multiple times to get into them again, but just something seems off. A Place Where...can't put my finger on it, but it sounds worse overall than the sound they had for The Emptiness (which is my favourite album, it's perfection)...maybe the screams just don't sound right, and the clean vocals seemed a bit out of tune in places. Because of your enthusiasm for those albums..i'm gonna play them again on repeat a couple of times, see if anything sticks :D
@@SkillJim Hey, man. I'm happy that you'll give them another shot, but if they don't do it for you, there's no shame in that. I'm incredibly biased anyway. This band was huge to me when I was like 13. They got me into much, much heavier stuff. I couldn't listen to Cannibal Corpse, Immolation, Anaal Nathrakh, and other bands without them. They've always had a special place in my heart.
@@richardsinclair7661Awesome to hear that! I do have a tendancy to fall off of bands for some reason anyways. Like I love Alesana's first 3 albums so much, wore them out at the time! Then was disappointed with A Place Where The Sun Is Silent, and I fell off of them. I just listened through the whole of that album, and there's some great songs, but overall...i'm still not sure, it's too long I think, 16 songs is always gonna be hard to get into at the best of times. Listening to Confessions atm, and it's sounds alot tighter, really enjoying it! Got more of an Emptiness feel to it!
Hell yeah man! I was really excited to see alesana in your channel!! Even though it’s a good start song to listen to... I think that’s not the best song you’ve checked so far! Check out “Fatima rusalka” by them! Maybe it’s not that popular like “the thespian” but is a really awesome song man! I’ll be happy to see more of alesana and if you’re still checking new bands! You should check ESCAPE THE FATE - the aftermath lll
Can we take a moment for Alex Torres commenting on every comment what a guy…. That aside I did not like music at all until I discovered metal in 7th grade I’m Australian so works little diff to America.. Then I heard beautiful in blue and my love for music was instilled now I play drums and teach myself guitar and scream even at the age of 27 now I want to be in a band every time I hear alesana.
My top favorite band ever! I can't believe someone finally reacted to them :) Unfortunately, not the best choice of the music video if you don't know the whole concept. Their 3 albums The Emptiness, A Place Where The Sun Is Silent and The Confession are the one story, so watching the music video from any of this 3 albums is kind of confusing. But songs itself are great! I still consider Alesana to be more like art than band. For next reaction you can try this one. It's one of their newer songs. Fatima Rusalka: ruclips.net/video/r6U6BCa58ZQ/видео.html
This album is phenomenal, it’s a concept album, with a whole story from beginning to end. Highly recommend any song off of it. The screams are slightly different, and took a minute to grow on me too 😂 but I do like how it just makes them more unique.
Hahaha my wife’s favorite band love to see you kicking it with some old songs and bands that not a lot of people react to. If you haven’t you should check out backwordz self ownership
I like the song, the vocalist sings well, but I don't like the scream the other one makes, it's like instead of being a demon scream, it seems to be drowning a duck
Lmfao that intro. Bro Alesana is the best. Literally all their music is incredible.
Thank you so much 🖤
Literally EVERY SONG!
@@TheAlexETF dude alesana has been my favourite band since day . Seeing you comment on every comment warms my soul big ups from Australia my guy.

This was based on the Edgar Allen Poe story Annabelle Lee. Yeah they changed it slightly but no they did not create the initial story.
@@fluffy1333 They only based the character "Annabelle" off the Poe story, the rest is orginal.

It's rewritten in our own words by yes it's inspired by Edgar Allan Poe.
Yeah and their latest album Confessions, is a continuation!

Finally an Alesana reaction. They're one of my fav band back in the day and Congratulations, I Hate You and Apology are 2 of my favorite songs by them

Thanks for checking us out 🖤 it's pronounced "Alice Anna"
Gotta do “Oh, How the Mighty Have Fallen” by Alesana. Absolute banger

Annabel is a woman Edgar Allen Poe wrote about. This is a concept album that draws I inspiration from that poem
