Great interview. Congrats on retirement Dathan. Was inspiring to watch these by all time greats over the years.

I do the majority of my running on the UW-Parkside cross country course and about every time I'm out there I think about how impossible it seems that a high school Dathan Ritzenhein ran the 5k course in 14:35. Still a course record to this day.

I Don't care if his course record does eventually get beat, Ritzenhein will probably always be my favorite distance running legend of all time

@@markcurrell3016 Looks like the closest anyone got to it was 10 seconds behind in 2010. Lukas Verzbicas was the runner

I'm sure Webb and Hall could've gone sub 13 in the 5k had they trained for it

Loved the conversation with these three legends! They still continue to inspire even though they've all retired.

Thank you guys for getting together. I followed Alan (I’m 60) his whole career and rooted for him all the way. Even read his book sub 4. Fan of all 3. God bless you all.

Wow, you guys really did split the times. In 2005 Webb went 8:11 and Ritz went 8:23. In 2007, Ritz went 8:11 and Webb went 8:23!
