I've never played a Tim Schafer game for the life of me but I've always admired him since he got into console games starting with Psychonauts. The internet taught me everything I needed to know, and his video along with many other interviews showed his passion. What a funny guy. So, even though I've never played a Schafer game, I pledged 30$ to do so. :)
Hey, Simmus, you can still back the project online, you can find the link somewhere on the right hand side of the Double Fine website and you get access to all the cool video content and forum stuff that has already been released - but because of the increased budget, the actual game release is still a way off.
that´s sooooooo exciting!!! This project could lead to a point where the people recognize that crowd funding is really strong and that you don´t need big Banks and everything to realise big projects!!! WELL DONE!
hahaha this is great and something the gaming industry needs right now. Games we want that we pay for and give direction to. Its a perfect time for this concept.
"Adventure games exist in our dreams, our memory, Germany" - makes me proud to be German and surprisingly it's true. For some reason Germans LOVE Adventure games and there is still a market for Adventure Games in Germany.
I'm a proud backer, and i'd like to say that after adventure, i'd love to see a brutal legend 2, hopefully with a longer storyline, I loved the first one, but it was way too short for my tastes
He's dead set on making psychonauts 2 at some point. It was almost set to be made after this one had Notch not backed out from funding the game($20 million is a scary budget). Have high hopes its coming sooner than later.
Oh no! I didn't realise you could only follow the process of it being made if you donated! I would have but I'm down to my last £100 to get me through the month. Any way I can get in on the fun?
I dont know why nobody is mentioning this, but after you did this point and click stuff and psychonauts 2, MAKE BRÜTAL LEGEND 2 (please ^-^) ! (aannnd cut the rts out and make it more like the very first mission ;D)
legend! this will be amazing! great pitch, tim is hilarious! and Im hoping since they have lots more money than initially asked for this will be even bigger and longer! yaaaay.
a company of games that actually have heart :O you should make an aliance with indie developers and launch them by you`re anouncement by that you guys would give it to know to a lot more of people and indie games can grow up like they deserve ;)
He might want to, but Double Fine doesn't own the rights to those games - Lucas Arts does. Did - now Disney does. And since LucasArts had all but abandoned adventure games completely, there's probably a better chance of a classic reboot now that those IPs have moved hands. But don't hold your breath. At all.
I'm going to wait until we get something more substantial then just knowing what the genre is. I love me point&click adventure games, but I didn't like all of them. So I'm just being careful with my money. Sorry I'm I poor college student ;-_-:
People really are greedy self-centered people. Sure, Psychonauts 2 would be great, but i'd like to see another adventure game in this day and age. They'll never feel motivated if people say "MAKE PSYCHONAUTS FATTY"
Great! Now you have 3 million dollars! Now, make your adventure game, Psychonauts 2, and Brutal Legends 2... even if I'm the only one who'll buy it... but leave out the crappy RTS feature...
If the final game is as charming as this video, then it would be an out-standing success. I'm rooting for you and your team.
"I'm Tim Schafer" I just came just from the awesomeness of that line.
I've never played a Tim Schafer game for the life of me but I've always admired him since he got into console games starting with Psychonauts. @deth2munkies yes, but with a slight correction. Unfortunately, RUclips doesn't allow us to replace video files. This is the proper final version now!

I think I gained a whole new appreciation for the phrase "warts and all".
I'm so excited! I've been playing your games since I was about 5 years old on my families old DOS computer.
Thank you! I also wanna see how game development goes. After all, I'm aspiring to become a good game designer.
I would honestly love to see Tim Schafer in a comedy film. The dude's hilarious. Anyone else agree?
that´s sooooooo exciting!!! This project could lead to a point where the people recognize that crowd funding is really strong and that you don´t need big Banks and everything to realise big projects!!! WELL DONE!
@g1oneshotfinch It was posted on the kickstarter page, though sort of hard to find.

If Tim Schafer is making an adventure game, it's got to be good!
Tim, those posters are playing with our feelings! You bad guy!
what are you going to do after this (if it goes well)???
Broken Age was fine. The Documentary is great. This video remains epic.
Wasn't the pitch video uploaded earlier? Oh well, I've already watched it like 6 times.
I'm a proud backer, and i'd like to say that after adventure, i'd love to see a brutal legend 2, hopefully with a longer storyline, I loved the first one, but it was way too short for my tastes
If I miss out on the kickstarter website, can I buy DFA somewhere online ? On steam perhaps ?
will we get to see your project by E3 12?
Wasn't this same video uploaded this morning/last night?
Tim is the main reason I donated! He is awesome! P.S. Brutal Legend on Steam would be fab!
Any chance on getting a steam release Grim Fandango I Loved that game!

Best pitch video ever.
That's a very creative ad :)
@HyakaDude They could be making a Bubsy game.
I would actually pay 500dollars for psychonauts 2! That game was the best game ever made in my opinion! Psychonauts 2 to kickstarter please
Walking Dead, I'd say Adventure is back in a big way.
Tell me what could go wrong.
I dont know why nobody is mentioning this, but after you did this point and click stuff and psychonauts 2, MAKE BRÜTAL LEGEND 2 (please ^-^) ! (aannnd cut the rts out and make it more like the very first mission ;D)
legend! this will be amazing! great pitch, tim is hilarious! and Im hoping since they have lots more money than initially asked for this will be even bigger and longer! yaaaay.
I gave my money. Now when this is successful I will give even more money for Psychonauts 2 and Brutal Legend 2.

a company of games that actually have heart :O you should make an aliance with indie developers and launch them by you`re anouncement by that you guys would give it to know to a lot more of people and indie games can grow up like they deserve ;)
This idea is amazing!
Launch another Kickstarter! I want to give my money to you too :(
I'm cool and everybody likes me. Tim Schafer told me so!
Nice video man!
LucasArts owns the rights to Grim Fandango since he worked there when he made it
That's not just a joyride, that's a Big Whoop! So I'd say money well spent
He might want to, but Double Fine doesn't own the rights to those games - Lucas Arts does. Did - now Disney does. Yes!
Dear Mr. Schafer,
Once you're done with this project let it be known I'd pay good money for the opportunity to pay good money for Psychonauts 2.
Pssst, hey Tim. Psychonauts after this one, right? .........right?
Never Forget The GDC Sock Puppet.
I'm gonna buy this game, just to get closer to guaranteeing psychonauts 2.
You must be pretty fucking excited right now, huh?
HOW MUCH TO **FILM** IT?!?!
We can dream my friend.
Why would I?
@TheCruel So very very true
ADVENTURE GAMES ARE NOT DEAD!
Already bought it, thanks for the warning : )
One can dream..........one can dream.
I wish I could say "shut up and take my money" and become a backer now that the campaign's already over. Darn.
I'm going to wait until we get something more substantial then just knowing what the genre is. I love me point&click adventure games, but I didn't like all of them. So I'm just being careful with my money. Sorry I'm I poor college student ;-_-:
funny how this video has so little views
@game442 nothing exciting; just tweaking some filter parameters on a few shots. All the content is exactly the same.
Will you tell me the actual secret of Monkey Island??
@GuiDeluxeUnit I can assume you're eleven years old.
thumbs up if u want them to make psychonauts 2
dont think i could have said it better myself
I will insert massive amount of coins if you revive Manny Calavera. So that he and Glottis may continue to soar like eagles..... on pogo sticks!
3,3 Million Dollars
Does that mean, you will make 8,25 games?
aw getting nostalgic
DO A SEQUEL TO DOTT!
I BACKED THIS PROJECT AND I'M STILL NOT COOL :(
+Michael Johnson your cool
So you think that Broken Age is not worth 3 mil. or you just think they made it out of pure hopes and all money were spend on blackjack and hoockers
All the comments about Psychonauts 2 make me want to play the original.
People really are greedy self-centered people.
Sure, Psychonauts 2 would be great, but i'd like to see another adventure game in this day and age.
They'll never feel motivated if people say "MAKE PSYCHONAUTS FATTY"
