I have a Southwire with the 12v mode... Serves me well for basic non contact and small 12v electronics. if that's not you're style I'd say safer to buy a Klein than fool with other brands testing the waters. I have a 2203--20 Milwaukee tester and sometimes it's just too damn sensitive and the button feels too flimsy. I'm sure if it gets dropped on the wrong spot, the button will crack.
Dang it, I bought a new Klein and returned it because it wasn’t at all sensitive. I was hopeful there would be a way to bump its sensitivity up but no luck. this one is trash to. I was hoping it would be able to sense power though outlet boxes and conduit but zero love.
This one is a swing and a miss for them. But, they are taking over the electrical isle and a lot of their new stuff is good, but I feel like it will take a couple years for them to get these tools to where they need to be.
Just got one before watching today it’s not sensitive like that at all but freaking power button was a little stiff turning it on randomly bent it out just fine I like that it takes a hold of roughly 3 seconds to turn on but I wish it was like Klein with tap to turn off you have to hold it 4 seconds an let off…. To turn off….. good thing I work in service….
I got the 1 with the light for 5 bucks recently at home depot it's not bad we used it 2day , dude put the phone next to it so I could hear the annoying beeping 2
@Lysander_Spooner I wanted to try that 1 when they came out I was rocking a 55,000$ flir iron camera n spaceman 40 cal suit After my mom passed I went back to construction then an inspector
thanks I was glad i had my 12 cal gear properly equipped when i pulled the cover off of a 800 a spectra series ge still had 3 of the 4 bolts in it just blew up !!! made contact with an over sized lug kit under the cover a first then c phase to ground not much i could have done HOT Bright Loud pretty crazy stuff @@Lysander_Spooner
I just bought this. (glad I have the receipt). When I get about 3 feet away from my Christmas tree with half a line of non-working bulbs… the yellow lights starts flashing/beeping. Very annoying. Do you have any recommendations for testing Xmas light LED’s?
As you said, sensitive in all the wrong places. Just flushed a $20 down the drain.
@@Sam-hf8nq return it 👍

As a DIY I use the Ames from HF and it's served me well
Nice, I hate any tester with the "reservoir tip" do they have it?
I use a Flir and love it.
Oh yeah that 1 vibrates too right ?
@@toolsandtactics Yes sir. Nice to have that haptic feedback in a noisy environment. Even has a flashlight in the cap.

@BADBRYZ the flukes work well for ncvs.
No l e ds are kinda hard to check
Do you mean like lights individually? The bulb or just the whole string?
@@toolsandtactics Just the individual lights. I hate throwing away a whole strand and/or checking lights individually.
Best tester I've had so far.
Was this video sponsored by klein?
Lol. !! No you should try any fluke
I brought this and its fkn sensitive. Was a waste of money sadly.
2203-20 is pretty good
