If people keep being born and no-one dies of old age or accident, people will eventually die due to food scarcity. Well, it depends. The expansion of the Universe doesn’t really affect galaxies themselves(because I believe Kurzgesagt was talking about nearby stars), because they are held together by a gravitational force, which we believe is caused my dark energy or dark matter. In exchange, stars are close. The quickest way to get to Alpha Centauri would be through sails powered by ground-based laser propulsion, reaching Proxima b in around 20 years. There is another video on this channel about the Penrose process, a theoretical means by which energy can be extracted from black holes to power a civilisation long after the heat death of the universe.
You say "the chills"? Good, because that means you have begun to grasp the difference between our everyday world of people, cars, potatoes, planets and our sun and the awesome nature of stars, neutron stars, black holes and the long-term future of our universe. Most people never get even a glimpse of this difference. Good for you!
My point is that you cant see black holes and our universe will no longer have sources of light in the next billions years. Therefore it will become sooo dark . And let's dont talk about how terrifying black holes are.
Don't worry for them, the most massive of them will explode in a Supernova, while the remaining will turn into black holes over 10^10^75 years. Then the black holes will finally evaporates completely in an additional 10^60 years. They will have a great fun! 😂😂😂
*Realizes that if all of humanity dies, our universe will just continue on without any issue at all like we never even existed* *rocks back and fourth*
Well, depending on if the multi-verse exists and we live long enough, we might be able to stave off heat death by bringing in energy fresh from other universes
The music to his video is so haunting, and has stuck in my head ever since I saw this when it first came out. I just caught myself whistling it a minute ago and decided to comment.
It's just a theory. On a happier note as what he's said is that this potential theory will happen long after humanity is gone and that since it's just a theory, there is still potential for another big bang. Sextillions of years after the big cooling or the big crunch
Well here is another theory; all these things was happened just before the last big bang? if Einstein right and if matter and energy are the same things just in different forms then everything is possible, even if energy gone there will be matter always and matter is energy, energy is matter and when there is matter, the universe won't go no where, it will just become into one, like before maybe?

hmmmmmmm. i suppose yeah, the big crunch is sort of tragic, what with everyone dying and all that. personally i think it'd be cool as hell, total chaos at the end of the universe. that's just me though
Gravity would inevitably draw everything together, and (hypothetically) the friction and force would tear it all apart again and the universe restarts colorful and warm.
Wait something like 10 to the power of 10 to the power of 10 to the power of 56 years and there might be a new universe due to quantum fluctuations Btw that number is stupidly big and even the forever mentioned in the video would look like an instant

Too far forward and there's probably a brainwashed dystopian society, no people of their natural gender, and people with bad taste in music & unappreciative of the legends we love today
This is absolutely the most perfect time to take up the opportunity to change society, so we could progress even further to a better tomorrow. Don't be afraid that you want change. Change is needed, anyways. We won't get anywhere unless the majority of everyone gets along. Besides, you can be the next person to push us an inch closer towards planetary and galactic travel. Whippybox_grHD! Lmao "bad taste in music". Do you think music is getting worse as time goes on? Because if that's the case, you're just lazy and not looking hard enough. As more people exist on Earth, more kinds of music from more sources will give way to much more variety and, inherently, more good music. Anyone who thinks that the popular Top 40 that people get the most shared exposure to is representative of the overall quality of all music being produced at that time is a fucking nostalgia-plagued dumbass.

If you are worried that the universe will one day cease to exist, just remember that, according to the quantum theory, given an infinite amount of time and an infinite amount of space, anything can happen

Please do a video about how a civilization could survive beyond that point. This is my first youtube comment ever and I´m happy to use it to give you guys a video idea and to tell you how much I appreciate your work.
The problem with hawking radiation as an energy source is that only very small black holes emit it fast enough to be useful, and the smaller they are the faster they decay, so it's not a great long term solution. But it'd still make a great video.

Matter is basically energy, so it's more accurate to say that energy can't be created or destroyed. A tiny amount of matter is turned into energy in some nuclear explosions, for example. Matter can't be created or destroyed through ordinary chemical means.

And why would it matter to you or anyone here presently, everyone on this earth at this moment will be dead before 2100. Why live at all if anything we do might be forgotten in the future unless it is something momentous. Our purpose is to create a generation that is more advance and better then the ones before for the sake of the human race, in which we will still have opposing opinions resulting in war and extinction. Nothing we do matter and the earth will die off with time, humans are only bacteria in this space we call the universe.

And let's dont talk about how terrifying black holes are.
5:28 I felt so sad for the little iron spheres. They look so lonely and sad, I want to give them a big hug and say it's alright.
Don't worry for them, the most massive of them will explode in a Supernova, while the remaining will turn into black holes over 10^10^75 years. Then the black holes will finally evaporates completely in an additional 10^60 years. They will have a great fun! 😂😂😂

"Nothing new will happen anymore. For ever.. "

It's just a theory. On a happier note as what he's said is that this potential theory will happen long after humanity is gone and that since it's just a theory, there is still potential for another big bang. Sextillions of years after the big cooling or the big crunch
Like my love life 😂
Well here is another theory; all these things was happened just before the last big bang? if Einstein right and if matter and energy are the same things just in different forms then everything is possible, even if energy gone there will be matter always and matter is energy, energy is matter and when there is matter, the universe won't go no where, it will just become into one, like before maybe?

I'd say this is the perfect time to be alive on Earth. Too far back there's so much war, genocides, disease and primitive technology.
All it takes is one step.

This is my first youtube comment ever and I´m happy to use it to give you guys a video idea and to tell you how much I appreciate your work.
Guilherme Bier They actually did! I can't remember the title of the video, vut it has something to do with the death of the universe.
Welcome to to RUclips! :-)
surviving gamer Don't they all?
The problem with hawking radiation as an energy source is that only very small black holes emit it fast enough to be useful, and the smaller they are the faster they decay, so it's not a great long term solution. But it'd still make a great video.

In a nutshell... we need to access a portal to other universes....or a time machine!
Dr.StickFigure or create some type of artificial sun
Matter is basically energy, so it's more accurate to say that energy can't be created or destroyed. A tiny amount of matter is turned into energy in some nuclear explosions, for example. Matter can't be created or destroyed through ordinary chemical means.
When all the stars become black dwarves apart from 1, the world needs to get in a time machine and move to a new hospital planet.
Dr.StickFigure ...Or die off like everything else. Why does the human race need to thrive? The earth is in a terrible state at the moment because of humans and we have wars just because of religion.
Or learn to control entropy
