SRV!s sound was totally different because he used such thick strings throughout his career. If you don’t like the blues, then you’re missing out, but there’s nothing that I can do to help you. You might like Moanin, by Art Blakey, great jazz tune, but idk how to help you, really.

Stevie Ray Vaughan was inspired by great artists and worked his bitt off to become one of the Greatest American Guitarist Known, by his pure love of the music and talent of his predecessors. He covered their music with the utmost respect! He’s just loved to play the sounds he fell in love with, isn’t that the dream… I love your appreciation for these Classics, I don’t know that we will ever see anything like this again.

A bit of trivia, the wawa pedal Stevie used in this video once belonged to Jimi Hendrix. It was given to him by the Hendrix family after Jimi died.
