Hey, good to know 40kms during winter on those batteries!
I THINK IT IS VERY, VERY GOOD 40KM
🍻's Basement ❗Great Honest Review 👍
What a coolass bike.
I weigh 170 and pretty easily hit 29.5mph . Love my Ridstar q20
@@butchvick660 quick question was that with just throttle or pedal addist?
@ulises7570 50kmh max speed with throttle
Bad ass bike. Bought one about a month ago. No problems and have done some upgrades.
Only bitch is getting new brake pads.
Still running well?
@JustinEthnostate yep.
Awesome video my man 💪😎 ❤❤❤ I'm about to pull the trigger on this one thanks for the good information 👍
Totally welcome. Get one. They're a blast!
Awesome! Can't wait for my Q4:20 ;)
im lookin to buy an e bike js for fun i live in cali so its warm n stuff i was wonderin if tis worth buyin cause i know your main complaint is with cold but thats not a problem here.
Don't buy this one. Bad brakes bad shocks shit battery
@@TheBasementGardener thanks bro appreciate it
If you're thinking about running batteries in parallel, I recommend the fbc battery combiner. Battery combiners seem to be hit or miss if it's not from a reputable source.
Where is it available? Link.
Nice review! Have you tried it on hills?
Yep. The motor is able to assist my 220lbs up hills easily
@@TheBasementGardener do you think it'll do 12% hills with throttle only at a decent speed? I'm thinking of buying this! Thank you for your reply!!
No idea about 12,% but it handled Ottawa's steep stuff fine.
How heavy is it say if I had to carry it up some stairs to board a train
It's about 75-80lbs with the battery. It's not light by any description. If you're in shape you'll manage, but definitely not something you'd wanna have to do say in a 3 story walkup apt or the like .
Hey just got mine how's your charger mine is so slow I feel I should buy a better one ,any suggestions?
Takes about 5 hrs for a full charge.
Hey i was just wondering would you reccomend this for a first bike? Im in cali so weather tends to always be warm so honestly im not sure if i should commit to this bike or not
No. I wouldn't. Get something brake pads are available for. This thing eats them and they are impossible to find.
Can you replace them with another brands pads that are more available
Not that I have found yet...believe me when I say I've looked. They are custom made for ridstar.
@@TheBasementGardener they sell them on their website I saw
about how many kilometers would it run full battery in summer?
About 25 to 30km on a flat bike path under pure electric. Obviously a bit farther with the use of pedals, but you really wouldn't want to pedal this too far .
THANKS ABOUT REVIEW!
The reason your front brakes are screaming is not a dirty rotor you just need new brake pads
Nope. It's dirt. Pads are new...just like the rest of the bike. Cleaned em...no more noise.
Should check and make sure your battery is charging all the way
Cheers. It is.
that thing is cool
Hi, which one is better Ridstar Q20 or Jansno X50 and why!? Thanks
No idea...I don't own a jansno.
@@TheBasementGardener i hear the q20 Has better battery and breaks but i have problem witch one is better for me witch frame style :P and i looking for user opinion
I can't offer an opinion on the other...so get a q20..it's better cause I have one.
I have the same question. have u decided which one is better? @modekLGC
Read the replies.
How tall are you and how much do you weigh. I'm 5/8 200
Check out the video...it's all in there. 5'9" 200ish
Totally kool
awesome!!!!!
Can you pull battery out and charge just battery ?
yes. you could for instance leave the bike in a garage and take the battery indoors with you to charge. its made that way.
is this considered a class 1, 2 or 3 ebike? I see other reviews of this thing going 31mph, which would be in the class 3 category.
No idea. It does 50kmh easily.
@@TheBasementGardener Found this information...The Ridstar Q20 electric bike is considered a Class 2 e-bike:
Class 2: E-bikes with a throttle and a maximum speed of 20 miles per hour
Here are some other e-bike classes:
Class 1
E-bikes with pedal-assist only, no throttle, and a maximum speed of 20 miles per hour
Class 3
E-bikes with pedal-assist only, no throttle, and a maximum speed of 28 miles per hour
Class 4
E-bikes with motors exceeding 750W and a maximum speed of over 28 miles per hour. They are treated as motorized vehicles and require licensing and insurance.
But these things have 1000W and RUclipsrs show they go 31mph
That put’s them into class 4 territory
. Wonder what happens when someone on one of these causes an accident and proves they were going over 28mph.
Legally, they would be in the “insured” requirement category.
Seems a lawsuit in waiting to me. I'm struggling on whether this thing is appropriate for my 15 year old son. I'm leaning towards no and wonder what others think.
@benhale3448 if your kid isn't a moron like most kids these days ....then he'll be fine. If he's a moron....get more insurance....better yet...skip the bike entirely.
It’s a dope bike, might try and get one soon. Just worried about cops in ottawa/quebec, because the law is actually pretty clear for e-bikes : 500w max and 32kmh max (dumb af). But good to know they don’t bother you 👍 thanks for the review!
I ride it like I stole it everywhere....no cop issues
How can I get brake pod to buy
No idea
2:13 😂
nice
If any one tell me it's good for Uber?
not without some significant modifications. Shocks and extended battery mainly.
