    As a fellow 5'6 person, you just stopped me from making a fairly expansive mistake. I was seriously looking into getting this ebike, but it's clearly too big. These companies seem to think that it's okay to list 5'6 as a ridable height simply because you can technically reach the ground, but being suspended by your nuts on the balls of your feet is no way to ride. This was the main reason why I researched this bike, you're the only one who solidly answered this one for me. Thanks.

    • @Ridstar_Q20
      @Ridstar_Q20  6 месяцев назад +1

      I think they list this bike for as short as 5'2". That would make this bike a constant wrestling match. In the seated position, it's not good geometry for pedaling. The bike is intended, in my opinion, to be ridden on and assisted when needed.
      Thanks for the feedback on the video.

    • @kavanlaughon2889
      @kavanlaughon2889 6 месяцев назад +2

      Would it be a stretch to assume the company might think whoever rides this bike would pull up to a stop light in the same manner as a motorcycle? An by that I mean how bikers usually lean one way or the other until it’s time to go again…?

    • @Ridstar_Q20
      @Ridstar_Q20  6 месяцев назад

      @@kavanlaughon2889 I think it's possible, but I think it could also be a disconnect between the manufacturer and the end user. On the manufacturer side, the geometry of this bike is really not for pedaling. On the user side, I have read so many comments that are bicycle oriented from an audience that isn't familiar with motorcycle riding.

    I just got one. Quick question. I put the battery in the first time. I want to charge it by itself and when I try to take the battery off, it won’t come off. I followed the instruction. Do I need to do it with force? I don’t want to break a brand new bike/battery.

    • @Ridstar_Q20
      @Ridstar_Q20  6 месяцев назад

      At first, they can be very hard to slide off. Assuming you haven't locked it in place with the key and forgot that you locked it, here is what I do. I lay across and on top of the seat with me left shoulder towards the handlebar. I place my left hand on top of the battery from the stood if the bike you're on. I then reach over the bike with my right arm and grab the battery from the bottom and pull up until the battery releases. My hand in top gets a bit squished when the battery releases, but it prevents the battery from slamming when it does release. Around 500 miles of user, battery being put on and off, it finally wore in and slides on and off easier.
      Ride safe.

      In the forum I belong to for this bike, no. I'm my research, they go up in flames when left constantly on chargers (unplug when charged), using other than the manufacturers charger, and when the battery has been tampered with. For safety, other than winter, I charge mine outside for the extra safety. I'm the winter, close to my door to throw it outside and only charging when I'm there. I also have a smoke detector in the room. They tend to smoke before they ignite.

    • @Ridstar_Q20
      @Ridstar_Q20  7 месяцев назад

      I assume the rest of the bike works? I would take the wire wrapping off, remove the seat, and trace the wiring back to the controller under the seat and make sure it's plugged in. After that, initiate a return which will prompt the seller to contact you and then you can pursue getting a replacement part. Ride safe.

      From my research, I have read 700-800 full charge and discharge. With that, there are a number of factors that can extend or shorten life expectancy. For example, not leaving it on a charger when fully charged. Not charging it in the freezing cold. And there are more. Ride safe.

    • @scentualobsessions
      @scentualobsessions 6 месяцев назад +2

      If you’re talking about how long does a battery last for one charge? You can go a while especially if you do a little peddling even though this bike takes a while to catch up for the pedal assist it doesn’t kick in right away so it’s mostly a throttle bike but even that that we ride all night long for four hours and my battery only gets halfway down. I would say you should get an easy 20 miles if you did nothing but full throttle of course if you’re in level five it’s going to wear the battery down more but if you’re in level three or something like that, you should be able to get 20 miles easily.

      I believe the best thing is to use the time on this first set of pads to find an off the shelf setup for future proofing the bike. I would look at brakes from downhill mountain bikes. Much more severe loads than cross country. Cross country brakes seem to be what I often see spec'd on ebikes.

      With any battery, cheap Chinese bikes, or Tesla's, batteries are a crap shoot. Typically, a battery like this should be a 700-800 cycle battery. If you ran the entire battery out and recharged every day, then you're looking at 2 years. But Tesla's have crapped out at 25,000 miles, and those were premium batteries. Who knows, time will tell.

      Actually, it is illegal in Canada too. Where I live you are limited to a 500W motor and 32 km/hr (20 miles/hr). They really don't bother you unless you're being an idiot. Then it's an excuse to ticket you/take it away.

    They should get rid of the gears. Save money and weight, no one is going to buy this to pedal.

      If they do it becomes an electric moped/motorcycle and other laws apply versus a being a bike.
