Thank you BN. I've heard concerns about reliability with Reolink cams. What has your experience been?

My experience has been good. I like them. Even recommended some to my parents.

Quick question, can I view the recorded motion alerts or be notified of motion detection if Im not home( not on the same wifi as my cameras) on the real link app? Or is this what the cloud storage is for?

Yes you can get notifications when you're not at home.

i would suggest a raspberry pi with a camera instead, it can do the same and more, around same price if not cheaper

That would require a fair bit more configuration and DIY to fabricate a case, but I agree you can get a better result given enough time and skill

@@Timooooooooooooooo it really is just follow tutorials / guides and for cases there are already premade cases that you can either download for 3d printing or even buy very cheap.
Raspberry pi's are made for kids, and in a way where everyone can do it.
(if you can look up this video on youtube you can do anything with a raspberry pi that others have already done)

@@gargoyled_drake some people don't have the time or can't be fkd, it's not a quick job making a security camera out of a raspberry pi

@@gargoyled_drake lol the pi alone cost more than this camera plus solar panel,. youtube commenters, facepalm. also i use pi a lot of my arcade 1up, buggy garbage 100% of the time. only nerds who want to make everything as difficult as possible use them.

Looks like video quality from 5 years ago, very washed out and soft.
Plenty more comparable (and better) cameras for the same price point 👍.

      Suggestions for specific cameras?

@@Timooooooooooooooo Something that's not a Raysharp OEM, and that's most bigbox stores.
At least some brands like Lorex use cameras from reputable manufactures like Dahua.
Although avoid Swann, their app is terrible and never maintained properly.
