Just so hard keeping the AR high when all I get are $3-5 orders.
earn by time helps me not worry about it and still make a steady amount
Those orders are still doable

@@firerock277 and im platinum lol
Not even that - I’m getting 6-12 dollar orders but for 30 miles round trip. No!!!
I had a 4.98 rating, 100 completions, and a 100% acceptance rate for four months straight, yet I never saw good deliveries. The most I made in one trip was $33, but most were just $4, $5, $8, or $11, with the majority in the single digits. Now, I only dash on Fridays and Saturdays. These delivery gigs will drain your soul with the crazy mileages and customers who never tip.
Do not accept every order. You are telling the algo you will accept anything. But still keep your AR high.
@@TheDashingInvestorhow do you do that?
I’d be happy as a clam with regular 8 and 11 dollar orders. I mainly see 4-8 these days. It’s so bad I. My marker ( and that was as top dasher)
@@TheDashingInvestorI don’t accept All orders no way and I still get trash.
Good to hear someone being positive. Seems like a lot of the others spend more time complaining than working. 78% AR, 100% CR, 4.99 stars, 200+/mo deliveries here. Since Platinum I’ve rec’d several catering jobs. Several $20 and $30 tips and one $50 for 9 miles. Just do the job! I have been caught miles away from the “best restaurants money spot”, the PAUSE idea is something I’ve used a bit but your advice is gold! It’s going be my new thing. Thank you very much!
Thank you for watching brother! Keep Getting That Money!!
Not every market has catering orders.

@@Big3Dashing TheDashingInvestor is awesome!!!
I live in a small town (8k people or so) market and believe I’m the only dasher in town so I get all the orders. It’s also only about 2 miles across so max 4-5 miles per delivery and almost all orders tip. The problem is orders are slow but I can sit at my house and wait for them to come in. I switched to dash by time and stretch the clock to make extra money (increases base pay from $2/order to anywhere from $2-6/order) and build up my AR. Then I go to the next town (75k people) over about 25 mi away and cherry pick during lunches or dinners when I want to make more cash flow. Works awesome
Great strategy for your small area! KEEP GETTING THAT MONEY!!!
I just started watching a dasher/UE who is the only driver in town and if he lets the clock run out (instead of declining), DD increases the offer by a quarter and UE increases it by 20-27%. He seems to rack up!
Nice I might have to try that on UE. I don’t usually use UE in my town it’s not very busy at all. But I just hit 500 deliveries and DD took away my dash now which I’ve always had until now. The extra $0.25 is probably on dash by offer. With dash by time I usually get quite a bit more extra.
How ??? I live in town of 11k and we are completely over saturated with drivers. It’s terrible.

Another strategy to implement - Focus on raising the Acceptance Rate through the week. That way, you can use your wiggle room on the weekends when it is busier!
You hit it!
If it requires you to accept garbage offers, then you are a fool! Cars are expensive to own and operate. Your time is important. No tip orders and $2 base pay is just wrong! It isn't a strategy to burn your gas and beat the crap out of your car. I just can't do it.
@@MrEjohnston Sorry brother. I do pretty good in my market.
The only way to do this in my market right now would me taking 6 dollar orders to drive 18 miles.
@@TheDashingInvestoryea this isn’t reality in small markets over saturated where u get sent out 15 miles one way for 6 bucks.
I saw one of your videos about EBT. I have been doing it. So far I like it.
Yes EBT can be good if you do it right. A lot of people do it wrong. Keep Getting That Money!!!
@@TheDashingInvestor ok didn't know there was a wrong way to do it. What is the right way?
Do the opposite of Earn Per Offer. Slow down on EBT. Don't rush. I use half the gas I use on Earn By Time than I do on Earn Per Offer. Some people like to rush on EBT too. Since half of the orders on EBT are no tips, half the time you are rushing to the next no-tip order. If you take your time you make your base pay go up and if they tip it's a bonus. If they don't tip well at least you made close to double your base pay than you would have rushing. Plus, going slower and calmer you save a quite of bit of gas. Don't lollygag, just take your time. if you see a traffic light turning yellow, stop for the light. Unlike when you are doing EPO, you may speed through that yellow light LOL.
@TheDashingInvestor ok thank you. I have seen in my zone if they have enough drivers on EBT there well be a lock. So I wait for the lock to go away then I can get in.

Even before I stopped dashing the algorithm was exactly how you said if you’re too picky trying to meet certain requirements like 1 mile per dollar you will quickly burn through your AR I started at 89 one time and dropped down to 64 by the end of the night. And also only averaged around 20ish an hour

For me my sweet spot is 85-91 percent
I noticed a huge difference when I got closer to 87 percent. Then they dropped a catering order in my lap. 🤔.
Platinum also needs you to have 100 orders in a 30 day rolling scale first
Yep!!
Wow, I learned aa lesson. Don’t accept an order until you know sure how many miles it is. I got an order request to go to Starbucks and I thought it said 1.3 miles and it was actually 13 miles delivered, i got over six bucks but no tip.. so take the time to look at the mileage and raed it twice lol. I almost wanted to unassigned it, but decided not to because I didn’t want to cause an issue with my percentage. I just took it as a learning experience and stayed positive.
Yea we all make little mistakes sometimes and want to unassign once we get into the order! Yes just accept the mistake and move on.

I have a 5.0 customer rating. First time I have ever got that. I really believe your AR combined with the customer rating helps with better offers.
Yes the customer rating comes into play too. As well as the completion rate. Most drivers keep a 95% completion rate and a high customer rating, It's the acceptance rate where most drivers don't keep up.
@@TheDashingInvestor yes
Nobody knows, not even DoorDash! Just take the orders that make sense to you, and keep that 19% AR. IT WORKS FOR ME! I still knock down $1200 a month and nobody thinks I dash too much at my house.

I’ve also noticed in my market, being a platinum dasher doesn’t really matter until after 5:30pm. I think it’s because my market doesn’t have enough drivers so I get a lot of those disrespectful offers.
When I start my dash at 6am and dash until noon, I receive at least 5 garbage offers. I mean some of the worst offers you’ve ever seen. $3.50 for 12 miles etc…

In the beginning do you have to take all orders, no matter what?
You don't have to. But you are still trying to learn everything. I took all orders in the first 2 weeks to get the hang of everything.
We aren't independent contractors. If they want me to take every order, they can pay me hourly and pay half my taxes, just like any pizza delivery job.
Screw these manipulation tactics. I am no fool. No tip no trip.

Yeah we will need hard data on this
Try it in your market. That's the only way you will know. It works in my market consistently.
Do you do the red card? And your thoughts on it?
Personally I do not. I tried it and It's not worth it in my market. But definitely test it in your market to see if it's worth it.
You did not mention that Platinum Dashers have to do 100 deliveries in 30 days.
Yep and the lifetime 200 deliveries. Sorry I missed it. Keep Getting That Money!
Also, that DD allows dashers to reset their arrival to 100 by opting into it via the email they send introducing the program.
Can anyone tell me how to see what the order is paying before I except it. I'm on the iOS and my husband is on Android. I think he can see it but I can't. Don't like finding out at the end of a long run and it pays only 3.50 for it 😮
If you are doing Earn Per Offer, you can see it upfront. If you are doing Earn By Time you can't see it until the end.
I'd like to see how DoorDash cherry picking compares to your method. I've given up on DD and switched to Uber Eats. I cherry pick with UE and I do 2-3 deliveries an hour. That's about what I used to do with DD without cherry picking. The pay has also been similar. The only thing missing is UE doesn't have large orders (deliveries over $30).
That would be a comparison if it could be done in the same market.

I am not being unreasonable. In lakeland FL, I need 80 cents per mile. But no less. Unfortunately, there are way too many drivers, and no enough orders.

80 cents per mile is being reasonable. These people are broke, they expect me to run their food for 2.00. It ain't gonna happen.
@@michaeldooley8744 Good luck! Keep Getting As Much Money As You Can Brother!
In my market, 80-84% seems to be the sweet spot. Get to 85% or higher and you’ll get a lot of orders, but they seem to not be good offers. Either low paying or high miles. Or both. I guess they think if you’re that high, you’ll accept those orders to keep your AR high. Get below 80% and it seems like you just don’t get orders and, once again, when you do finally get one, they just aren’t very good
Yes markets are different. I'm glad you found the sweet spot in your area. Keep Getting That Money!
It seems that if I accept a low paying order, that's all they send me during that dash. It may be coincidence, but if the first offer I accept is a good offer, they continue sending decent offers for the remainder of that dash. I think it's likely built into the algorithm for the computer to tag drivers who are accepting trash and it keeps sending those to them.
@@B_Bodziak I think you’re right, especially if that low paying order is one of the first ones you accept that day.
This is so confusing, especially when I take multiple orders in a row and the AR rate stays at 74%, but if I decline once it moves
@@victoriamassey9830 when you accept an order, it replaces the oldest order of your last 100 orders. If you have a higher AR, then there is an excellent chance of that order also being an accepted order so your AR won’t change. Yea, DD has the rolling 100. Once you come back around in your current set of 100 where you previously declined and accept this time, your acceptance will go up.
Dashers remember the economy sucks. I live in a of 50 thousand with one 6 miles away with 20 thousand people. People can not afford to tip as they could 4 years ago. Just one example my coffee cost me 10 bucks a can 4 years ago now it is 15 bucks a can. Also I have 8 years delivery experience here. 6 with Domino's and 1 with 1 for pizza hut and 1 and a half with doordash. Until the economy gets better it's not going to change. You are now a business person. You need to start thinking that way. To start thinking as a business person first look at the tax rate. Go look at what the tax rate was 4 years ago and look at what they are now. Voting is coming up. No matter how you vote now look for the candidate with track rate of voting for lower taxes. Lower taxes will build up the economy. I am 61 years old and every time we had a government that lowered taxes everything thing else followed soon behind getting lower. Do your own research on who to vote for do not listen to the news.

It's important to track your miles. You will get a lot back on your taxes. Plus, test what works for your market. These techniques work well for my market and similar markets. Test in yours, you may can copy or have some kind of hybrid strategy of these techniques in your market. This advice is a foundation to start your testing of what works best for your market.
You can swipe the app up and away and await a notification. If it is a restaurant you know you'll never take, don't look at it. It won't affect your AR.
Very nice!
Explain that. Like close the app ?
Being on platinum status changes nothing. I still keep getting abusive orders. The major issue is the market is completely saturated 😢
Sorry, your market is saturated.
So I tried dashing a couple years ago. Did like 6 trips probably for a sign up bonus. Come back now to the app and see I can still dash. I got 70% AR and 44 more deliveries left in the high priority pool. Should I be taking advantage of temporary platinum by cherry picking for max profit for time or should I work on my AR and accept everything with the hopes of earning my way into platinum with a sweet spot AR after my first 100 deliveries?
Build that AR!
$2.03 for 13 miles really? Then because I didn't take it I dropped 1%.
Yea it's crazy. Drivers should not loose a percent when an order is that bad.
Impossible to stay that high. I was at 84 and then started getting trash and within a week I was at 74. Yesterday I had 14 orders. 7 were trash and 7 meh to decent. I said no to 6 yes to 7 and dropped 2 more points. I’m gold atm thanks to being sick and losing over 100 orders. This new tier system is trash. I went from getting a couple bad ones a night to a ton. No way I’m gonna be able to keep my ar up. In early June this wasn’t happening in gold - I was able to get my over 100 orders back up ( I was away visiting sick relative) by working a solid week and was getting so many local
Orders that money wide were worth it. My small Market is so over saturated. We have no high paying restaurant in small town. Sitting in one spot does me no good. In fact I had support person told me if u stay too long in one spot they stop sending orders . We have a couple of the better restaurants in our town and some local places but they are all spread out. No cluster. At 74 ar every other order were like that yesterday.
A saturated market makes it tough. Plus, it's summer where a lot more people are dashing and the good tippers are on vacation. Hopefully your market becomes better after summer.
It's not a 1.00 per mile. A six dollar offer for 6 miles is .50 per mile. What is wrong with your math?

Bull shit lm 100 completion and 90 accepted and 4,71 rating they don’t give good
Get that customer rating up. It should change for you. Hopefully your market is not close to saturation.
Ok man
I can't get to top tier status without accepting garbage offers. In 2022 I had over $5,000.00 in car repairs and Doordash didn't kick in one cent. I refuse to be manipulated and exploited. I am moving on. Doordash isn't worth the trouble. I am not running a meals on wheels.
Sorry your market is that bad brother! All markets will become saturated sooner or later. I will make the best of it until then.
