    So I'm sitting here with morning breakfast and sipping coffee....and RUclips recommends this video.
    Long story short....I'm going to my hobby store today to buy this model, based solely on YOUR video.
    This Mexican American modeler here knows absolutely NOTHING about British armor....but I'm a huge Cromwell fan now.
    SUBSCRIBED.

    Great review. Lots of good, pertinent info. Does seem odd they would botch the bolt pattern on the wheels. The kit does look good finished though. Looking forward to the paint.

      Brett, I'm in.
      I'm going to either buy this kit at Brookhurst Hobbies or eBay if I can't find it at my hobby store.

    From what I have been able to gather Airfix and Academy have gone into partnership when it comes to 35th scale armour kits. The plastic looks identical to the (really excellent) Academy PzKpf III I'm currently building, and as has been pointed out elsewhere, the decals are not by Cartograf, as usual with later Airfix kits, but more likely supplied by Academy's decal printers. It looks a lovely kit. I'm not fussed by the missing bolts on the road wheels, as people who see my completed kits never actually come close enough to be able to count the bolts :-) It's a personal preference thing, of course.

    Aside from the not-so-good research, it's probably a nice kit. In any case,
    it will be interesting to see how it looks after the paintwork, Jason.
    Best wishes, Joachim

    I have built OOB both Mk IV and Mk VI kits and it was very pleasent building for me. A fitting is very good and I dont care about bolts count ;)

    Somebody at Airfix didn't do their research. Let's down an otherwise nice kit. Great build and looking forward to seeing the paint job

      Hope they do more research next time they make a model kit of a tank used by fellow country men. But besides the fact that the bolts of the wheels and a cammo scheme was wrong it is still a really nice kit I would like to buy.

    Nice video, kind of looks like Airfix didn't do all their research. 🤔

    Haven't built the old Tamiya in YEARS but liked it. "For the most part" how is the plastic? I mean is it in the same boat as italeri brittle? Or is in the same as Tamiya. I know odd question but really like Tamiya's plastic it just works right. Anyway cool video. Looks like I'll have to sub I like your video.

    Im a bit puzzled about how they come to the conclusion that the tank is camouflaged in yellow/light brown, because the picture of the tank shows two dark tones (the picture is BW), i think the camo pattern have to be standard green base and bluishblack camopattern, cant think of the czechs riding around in a yellow/green tank, if they not have a very strong deathwish then....

    When you showed the turret the four big hex screws on the pistol ports were clearly visible. When the kit came out them missing was the biggest flaw mentioned everywhere because those are even more prominent than the 6 vs 8 bolts on the roadwheels. Did Airfix corrected the molds, or did you scratch carved the screwheads into the armorplate?

    • @ChampionScaleModelling
      @ChampionScaleModelling  3 года назад +1

      Ah yes, sorry was meant to mention I added them, there will be a build vid for both variants in a couple weeks and I show it in more details, all an out of the box fix. 👍

      @@ChampionScaleModelling Thank you, I was hoped (a little) that maybe Airfix had corrected them.

    Champion have you ever used vallejo chipping medium? If you have do you know if it works with Tamiya or Mr hobby Aqueous?

    Hi! Sorry to bother you but is airfixs can be made cromwell moveable like the tamiya cromwell

  • @robertcolbourne386

    What i don't get is why the nuts on the road wheels are wrong, 6 vs 8, even the Tamiya kit has 8 , All photos I've seen show 8 and as you said in an earlier video Airfix's 1/72 has 8 ! I also note that Comet has 10 , so it's not like Airfix is planning on a kit using the 6 nut wheels

      Airfix has never been great kits and this again shows what their like.

    Is it an Airfix original?

  • @statoilbensin2190
    @statoilbensin2190 3 года назад +1

    I guess you used the resin wheels because the wheels in the kit only has 6 bolts while in reallife it had 8. Not something I would care about.
