- Paramedics transported the victim to hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was found with gunshot wounds at 10:40 p.m. Thursday on Joseph Duggan Road near Lake Shore Boulevard East.

@@bosshawgisyourfather there's no silver bullet that fixes things, it is not possible to address everything with a single set of laws. Investment in community centers and sports programs also affects gun violence. If you expect gun violence to be fixed by only one thing you will never get to where you need to get to. Further, the bans that exist are only on specific gun types intended to address guns used in crime, loads of legal guns exist if you need/want to hunt. This anti gun narrative is tired, it's about controlling guns that are used in crimes and yes most of those are illegal guns, but that shouldn't stop regulating the legal ones that are also used in crimes.

The are small groups of guys of guys that wander around the backstreets of the beaches all the time, presumably they are emptying unlocked cars of things left in them, but whenever I see them it's a little Nerve-Wracking because it's usually quite late and they're the only people around.

It's not called the beaches it's the beach.
To 51% of the people who live there, but not to the rest of the city. The bia keeps putting up signs to get people to call it that, but I don't think you're ever going to make that happen for a bunch of reasons, but mainly because there are other beaches in Toronto and calling a place The beach when there are other beaches is just kind of self-centered and annoying. 🤷
With all the Atlantic Canadians that migrated there, you forgot how to refer to beaches? Some beaches have a name, for those that don't there's a reference like the beach at Sand River. And yes that other point is correct, the closest beach is always referred to as "the beach"
The area has been referred to as "the beaches " for over 50 years , but whatever you say .

They got 51% of the vote, but next to no one knew the vote was happening and now we're stuck with this name. I've lived here for decades, everyone I know calls it the beaches, it's just mainly the bia that calls it the beach.
