yeah lightfastness ruins everything. though to me i didnt think the color looked brighter with the grey around it. i sure wish more things were lightfast.
I love neon paints, but I would never use them in a real painting because of lightfastness issues; sketchbook only! Same with Alizarin Crimson, so pretty, but so easily faded! Only for artwork you’re going to scan and make prints of, since the original will fade.
I’m not sure, but I’m guessing probably not. There are so many different types of paint that are at various different strengths, that probably there is a range out there. -Prof Lieu
All paints are not highly pigmented. The more pigmented, the more expensive the paint like Golden's Heavy Body acrylic paints, or the Schemenke German watercolor pans, or the French 1700's to present pastel manufacturers. One house is still run by the grandchild's generation and made pastels for the artists who painted for the French monarch, as well as Van Gogh and some of the Impressionists.
Light fast is a term I've never heard before, well now I get to look it up ha! Thank you for sharing.*** reaction of fading due to sunlight or was it all light? Bah I skimmed it and now its loose.
The color queen has spoken 🙇👑
This is an amazing tip! A thing I feel like I struggle with regarding painting is how to really make colors pop. Thanks Lauryn!

Thanks! Perfect when you don’t want to buy a whole neon set!

I wonder if Hooker's Green trends non-lightfast, also. I recall that from my oil painting classes.
Thanks ❣️🙏
Great tip. Thanks.

How do you if a color is a highly tinted non fluorescent color ? Aren't most paints highly tinted ?
