Wahey! Great review. Think I'll be picking up some new fluos in the future, those Lascaux's look immense. Glad the Scalecolor Artists were useful to test out :)
Wildfire paints are my favorite, yet a little on the expensive side...advertised as prop and theatre effect paint but a highly slept on brand that will always be my goto are sax brand neon acrylic. They are the most opaque and vibrant colors I've ever worked with
And I must say I'm thoroughly surprised and impressed with what you covered in this video....I scower (sp? )RUclips for blacklight enthusiast videos and uv paint reviews that always seem to dissapoint...however your video layout is well done and the info you narrated was the most detailed, opinionated, and demonstrated of any I've seen....kudos
James one more question once I have the Lascaux white how can I increase the opacity (thicker)in the white without compromising the flourescent? This will be used in a paint pen for signatures so the first strokes have to count. Thank you in advance if you could help 🙏
I would mix it 50:50 with a titanium white to increase the opacity it will affect the fluorescence a touch but it will will still work, you may need to tweak the ratio to get the effect you want though
Great question, most fluorescents are not light fast so will lose colour when exposed to sunlight. BUT you can protect them with specialist varnishes, however most art light fastness is based on canvas art which is typically displayed in bright areas for decades. So it’s less relavent for minis, I have had some minis painted like this on my shelf for over a decade.
@@RisingApe I am thinking to get some fluorescent paints for avatar of Khiane but I worry they become ruined after 2-3 years. If they do lose colour I will just use ink....
Ok I found it I'll be ordering the bigger bottle and I'm trusting your guidance on the white which is very hard to find and I'm willing to pay premium since your declaring it's premium. I'm from unites states California so I'll be ordering over seas which there was a promotional code to use haha
Cracking video @RisingApe! Thanks for putting all that work in 👍 Regarding the Lascaux, I appreciate your statement that they're hands-down the best neon colours on your card system, but.... are they as good for miniature painting? I understand that pigment particle size is a vital factor for such small-scale uses, and as Lascaux isn't designed for that, I thought it was worth asking very specifically. 10 months on from your video, are you now using Lascaux as your go-to neons for minis? Thanks in advance for any further help you can offer the whole 🌍 on this topic.
Fantastic testing and comparisons! Just what I was looking for. Thank you for doing this 🎉❤ I assume the Golden are glossy and need matte medium to knock them back?
Florescent do not GLOW... Glow is phosphorescent. Messing when the light is taken away they still show.. fluorescent paint did not do this. It only shows with light on it.
I guess it depends where you buy and in what quantity, where I am Lascaux is minimum £22 for an 85ml bottle, golden you can find for £10 (albeit for 30ml) but you only need 30ml or less for mini painting
@@RisingApe but 22 for 85 is still cheaper than 10 for 30ml. And to he honest mate, I'm finding it harder to find the golden. Good video though, thanks for the comparison.
Yeh for sure, if you ever see the Golden sets available I would try and pick one up, where abouts are you in the world? also cheers, glad you enjoyed it
I'm a big fan of "Golden Hi Flo" through airbrush !
Me too!
I use golden high flow acrylics for every OSL effect I do.

Really useful, LEGEND 😋
thanks so much for the comparisons. i've always reached for my golden (and i'm not giving them up!), but now will also look at the lascaux.
I love my Goldens too, but Lascaux are another level
@@RisingApe they’re not available in the US! 😭😭😭
Thanks!
No problem! And thank you so much for the super thanks, I really appreciate it
@@RisingApe You're my first! 😎
I’m super excited to get the UltrAcryl box. It looks awesome.
Agreed
Golden high flow acrylics are the best airbrush paints I’ve ever used.
Yup, they only down side is the gloss, but that can be fixed with matte varnish as needed
It’s not even that bad out of an airbrush, and if you are doing something like OSL it’s not even a bad thing.
Oh hey, the Discord bit included our "talking another member into getting into oils" conversation, wheee! ^_^
Aye, great chat

If there's a way to send pictures I can send some of some work I did with both

@ hell ya I'm excited can't wait to get them in. Any chance do you have a instagram I may follow?
Question: do they lose colour as time goes by?Eventually become just white or what colour under?

If possible can you copy paste link in comments section for lauscoux flourescent white for some reason I can't find it on there site 🙏

Apparently I don't think they ship over seas mate, I tried to make an account and can't recognize my postal code :(

Yes! Wholeheartedly yes, they are the best fluorescents I have ever used, the white I use less though, the pink is incredible though
@@RisingApe Cheers bud, appreciate the very quick (and definitive) answer 🤠
Fantastic testing and comparisons! Just what I was looking for. Thank you for doing this 🎉❤

Yes, but the SoFlat range is very good if you are starting from scratch, I just find the High Flow to me more convenient
If you are using the fluorescents through and airbrush it’s not really an issue.
I like this series, cheers.
Thanks
Nice! Good video. Thanks! Keep up the good content.
Thanks 🙏 appreciate that
Fantastic video! Where did you get the test cards from please? They look like a great idea!
They are from Dspiae I got mine from their Ali express store
Thank you 🙏
Sorry I'm in a loud place but do these glow under a black light once shinned on and not after the light is of it, mainly if the white one does.
All the Lascaux ones did, half the pro acryl. The white 💯 does
Florescent do not GLOW... Glow is phosphorescent. Messing when the light is taken away they still show.. fluorescent paint did not do this. It only shows with light on it.
ak fluo pants are good
the first rule of paint... there is always more paint!
@@RisingApe yep it's crazy. I will never have money again because theirs so many paint to get. 🤣 I love fluo paints though. :)
It's not miniature paint but Liquitex have some fluorescent paint.
Most do, I unfortunately couldn’t test all of them
Golden flow is more expensive than lacaux.

@@RisingApe in the uk mate.
@@EMPERORSPROTECTION-TERRA4LIFE I usually go with Cass art, or jacksons, but art discount have them on sale for £7 at the moment
The scale 75 fluoro red isn't even fluorescent
Indeed it’s not fluoro it’s just very bright.
Green stuff world has white florescent paint.
Cool, I didn’t know that, their range is massive though so not surprised
