Pass percentage crossed 80 in 2005 and not in 1995. When I joined engineering we hardly had 5000 seats in Kerala and 50% was reservation category; so many of my friends had to study outside Kerala. Now we have 20,000 vacant engineering seats in Kerala...

No, Mr. Mohandas, first communist government destroyed school education. Within 10 years school education was totally finished. Second communist government destroyed college education. I was lucky enough to leave Kerala before the end of 60s. Fortunately, many CBSE schools started sprouting in Kerala in 70s or so. These schools helped many middle class families to give good education to their children. For college education, the children had to leave Kerala. Now that is what is happening. Go to Karnataka and see the number of Kerala students there. Delhi was another destination. With the introduction of entrance test, Delhi colleges have become unapproachable. Apart from all India services, how many Kerala children get admission in IITs, IIMs etc. Kerala is finished in all respects.
Before 90s, the education of Kerala was recognised as the best in india.
Now the quality of education has deteriorated considerably due to uneducated, unqualified and sub-standard people in the sector. It is evident from the talks given by the education minister at different platforms. Very unfortunate that the future of the new generation is ruined. I was told by the old generation that they left Kerala to north India in 60s, 70s, or 80s after passing SSLC, the standard of which was equal to post graduation in that part of the country, and did big in government and private sectors. You can check it up from your neighbourhood. Now see the quality and standard of today's education. The future of our children is at stake.
Both thr ministers are highly educated and talented. Therefore, i appreciate their observations and take them at face value. Can we expect anything better than those "carrying" their homes in their heads.

ഹയർ സെക്കൻഡറിയിൽ സാറന്മാർ രാവിലെ 9 തൊട്ട് വൈകിട്ട് 4 :45 വരെ പഠിപ്പിക്കണം. താഴ്ന്ന സ്‌കൂളുകളിൽ ആണ് 10 മുതൽ 4 വരെ സമയം. എന്നിട്ട് വീണ്ടും ശനിയാഴ്ച്ച എന്തിനാ അവർ പോകുന്നത് സ്കൂളിൽ. അവരും മനുഷ്യരല്ലേ. അവർക്ക് ദൂരെ വീട്ടിൽ പോയി മക്കളെ കാണണ്ടേ... കുടുംബം വേണ്ടേ. 25 പീരീഡ്‌ വരെ പഠിപ്പിക്കാം എന്നാണു അത് ഉണ്ടെങ്കിൽ പഠിപ്പിച്ചാൽ മതി നിർബന്ധം അല്ല. പത്തിൽ അക്ഷരമറിയാത്ത എല്ലാരേയും ജയിപ്പിച്ചിട്ട് അവരെ എങ്ങനെ ഈ അധ്യാപകർ പഠിപ്പിച്ച മനസ്സിലാക്കും. ലോവർ സ്‌കൂളുകളിലെ അദ്ധ്യാപകർ വേണം അക്ഷരം പഠിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടത്. പിന്ന സ്‌കൂളുകളിൽ ഇടത് പക്ഷ യൂണിയനുകളുടെ അഴിഞ്ഞാട്ടമാണ് എന്നാണ് കേട്ടിട്ടുള്ളത്. ചങ്ങനാശ്ശേരിയിലെ ഈ സ്ഥലംമാറ്റവും പാർട്ടി ഇടപെടല് ആയിരിക്കും. ഇങ്ങനെ എന്തിനും ഏതിനും അദ്ധ്യാപകരെ കുറ്റപ്പെടുത്തുമെന്ന് ഭയന്നാണ് ഇപ്പോൾ അവർ കോപ്പിയടിക്കുന്നത് കണ്ടാൽ കണ്ണടയ്ക്കുന്നതും.

@@ajikoikal1 25 hour weekly is too much work load, assuming a five day work week. even if it is a 6 day work week, it is too much work load. the best is 3 hours per day, as the teachers need to prepare for the class and take breaks. they are also humans! a newbie teacher must prepare approximately for two hours to take a one hour class. teaching is not a mechanical robotic kind of job.

ഇത് കേരളത്തിൽ മാത്രം അല്ല ഇന്ത്യയിൽ മുഴുവനും പൊതു വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം അതിന്റെ ക്വാളിറ്റി വളരെ മോശം ആണ്. ഇതിൽ മറ്റു സംസ്ഥാങ്ങളിൽ വളരെ എലൈറ്റ് ആയ ആളുകൾ വളരെ നല്ല പ്രൈവറ്റ് സ്കൂളിൽ ചേർന്ന് അവരുടെ കാര്യം നോക്കുന്നു. ഇന്ത്യയിൽ ഇന്റർവ്യൂ നടത്തിയ പല ആളുകളും ഇതേ പ്രശനം ചൂണ്ടി കാണിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഇനി കേരളത്തിൽ ഇപ്പോളത്തെ അവസ്ഥ വളരെ പരിതാപകരം ആണ് കാരണം ഓൾ പാസ് എന്ന ഉടായിപ്പു പരുപാടി കാരണം ആണ് പിന്നെ DPEP അതിന്റെ ഇമ്പ്ലിമെന്റഷന് ശരിയായ രീതിയിൽ അല്ല നടന്നത്. ഒരു ഡിഗ്രി കഴിഞ്ഞ ഒരു വിദ്യാർത്ഥിയോട് തന്റെ cv ഒരു കവർ ലെറ്റർ മലയാളത്തിൽ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് എഴുതാൻ പറഞ്ഞാൽ 90 % ആളുകൾക്കും അറിയില്ല അത് ഇനി ഒരു master ഡിഗ്രി ഉള്ള ആളിനോട് ചോദിച്ചാലും അത്ര വെടിപ്പായി എഴുതാൻ അറിയില്ല.
