Lemon and blueberry is such a winning combination - in scones, even better! You're really hitting it out of the park with these spring/summer inspired bakes! Thank you so much for sharing Valentina!
Oh My Word, Valentina! 🍋🫐☕️ How scrumptious!!!! They key is patting well, but gently, not to disturb the blueberries. Including a dash of patience! 😉 I just wish I had one right now! Thank you for sharing. Ofcourse one day I'll try, probably next time I go see my Mama. We will be making your last recipe as well, as she mentioned to me! You're doing great with your videography, dear! 🙌👍👏❤️
Hi Gina! Glad you like them! Be gentle with the dough, don't warm it up and laminate it making folds, helps this kind of American Scones to turn out tall. Can't wait to have your feedback if you try it!! Much love
One of the best looking scones. Love the blueberries than the plain ones. How can I not make these gorgeous looking scones. Honestly I've never made scones before. Your recipe really comes in handy. Thanks Valentina 💖
Hi Fiona! I prefer the blueberry ones too! They are not too sweet, so they are delicious in many occasion. Glad you liked it, hope all is well there! Have a great weekend 💕
Ciao Valentina another fantastic desert recipe absolutely love blueberry scones always thought they looked difficult to make but your video showed me it’s not hard at all thanks for sharing going to make soon hope all is well my dreams take care
Ciao Andrea! Yes, they are easy to make, just need to be gentle with the dough and don't touch it too much with warm hands. Can't wait to know if you try them out! much love
Hello Valentina. How are you? I actually never tried to make scones, but this is a recipe i definatly will try, maybe next saturday. Wish you a very good weekend. 🙂❤️
Hello Valentina... I get the feeling you too love lemons like me... Another fab recipe... These look so buttery and delicious... Will try this for sure ..it's super hot in India...so will try when it gets a bit cooler... nothing like a nice buttery warm lemon scone with a cup of coffee... Thank you my dear girl...Hope you doing well....as always Sending you loads of love and warm hugs 💕💕💕💕
Hi Smita! I totally understand you, here it came a strong heat wave, the scones dough almost melted in my hands... and May it's only Spring here, I can't imagine this Summer! Yes, I love lemon, it's a perfect Summer refreshing flavor! Much love 😘
Mmmmm they look extremely attractive! One thought (maybe it's something you already mentioned previously, can't remember): fruit and vegetables are usually sold with a large amount of chemicals covering them, and when it comes to citrus fruits they often seem to be covered by a waxy layer, something not very easy to remove by simple washing. So the (few 😢) times I happen to use lemon zest, I use to scrub off and discard the first thin layer (usually until I notice a slight color change), then retain the remaining zest. Taste is almost the same and health should improve... at least in theory 😉
Hi Mino! You're right, that's why it's better (of course if you can) to use organic citrus when you use the zest. Pay attention to grate only the yellow part of lemon (or the orange part in oranges), the white pith it's bitter. Enjoy your baking time
Hi Helen! Yes, you're right, but I added just one egg because I didn't want to create misunderstanding in the video. I've just added a bit of extra milk instead of the second egg. If you want to make a double batch, you can use 2 small eggs or just replace the second egg with some extra milk as I did. Remember to split the dough in two and get two discs, from every disc you'll get 8 scones slices. Let me know how they turn out! Much love
Hi Handan and welcome here! Yes, sure! Skip lemon zest and blueberries and add cinnamon instead. They are not too sweet, so they are perfect if you also want to spread with some jam. Let me know how they turn out! Much love 😘
Ciao Valentina, Come Stai. I must confess that I do not like Scones because they are always so dry and crumbled. NOT anymore, they look fabulous. I also liked the way you ''folded'' the dough and made layers. Finally a Scone that you don't have to make sure that you have a drink nearby. Now I can't wait to see you make Nutella flavor. 😊. I assume that you could spread the Nutella on as you folded the dough.? I'm going to give it a try. 😋 Have a Blessed and Beautiful Day Cordiali Saluti Mio Amica, Dio Ti Benedica 🌷🌷🌷
@@HowTasty Ciao Valentina, Come Stai. They really looked fabulous, not dried out. I have not made them in over 20yrs, think I will have to give it a try. Today is market day so I will be heading out in the afternoon. Do you think my method to layer the Nutella inbetween the folds will work or would it be better to put the Nutella directly into the dough.? I'm enjoying a beautiful sunrise 🌅 and my morning cup of Tea 🍵 and a message from you, perfect way to start my day 😊. Dio Ti Benedica Mio Bella Amica. 🌷🌷🌷
@@edwardcarloni6356 Happy Monday, Edward! I think your method to layer Nutella is better than put Nutella into the dough. I've never tried but I'm curious to know how they turn out, let me know! Having fun at the market and enjoy your shopping!😘
@@HowTasty Hello again, Hopefully by your next video I will have an answer on how they turn out. I was also thinking about freezing little pieces of Nutella and putting them in as I folded the dough. I'm slightly concerned that the layers would slide apart. I'm thinking maybe the frozen bits would be better. Either way, I wish I could share it with you. Have a Blessed and Beautiful Day, Ciao Mio Bella Amica. Eccone Uno Per Te 😘Grazie. Pace e Amore 🌷🌷🌷
