Has to be Artic Blue Cable! Does it, the fixed installation doesn’t move or it shouldn’t so any rated flex can be used. The only flex that has to extreme temp rated is the shoreline
Great video. I'm hoping to do exactly what you are doing in a few years time.I am currently driving a truck in Australia and spend the whole day constructing and deconstructing canal boats in my head, so vids like yours are a huge help in working out possible problems and give me more food for thought. Keep up the good work.
Hi Liam Thanks for watching, your comments a good one and one I have thought about also. After the lining has been fitted I will be installing plasterboard dry lining boxes ( the plastic ones usually with the yellow clips) But just before I fit them I will flood the cut out with spray foam. Keep watching Carl & Christine ❤️❤️
this may be a silly question? but here goes did you run one continuous ring main completely round the boat or 2 separate ring mains left and right side of the boat? thank you
hi watching your vids with great interest , glad to see your sharing very informative info which certainly will be of help to me me in the months ahead , looking forward to seeing how you fix into place the bulkheads but on another note the 2.5 mm cable you purchased for your 12v electrics does it have to be tinned cable and if you don't mind sharing were did you purchase it from cheers paul b
Hi Paul thanks for watching glad your enjoying the vlogs and hopefully they will be of some help to you and others. My bulkheads are constructed like a stud wall clad on both sides with 9mm ply. I have deliberately tried to keep them as thin as possible so I used 25mm x 50mm timber batons screwed to the sides, roof & floor by using this method you can conceal your fixings and once the ply has been applied to both sides it is remarkably strong but you’ll see ‘‘this in the next vlog. My thin walled cable for the 12v system is not tinned, I did look at installing tinned cable but most builders I spoke to considered it to be overkill for a narrowboat, if you decide to use tinned cable ocean flex are the manufacturer of the cable but I called them and they will not supply you directly you will have to purchase it from a distributor they will tell you who your nearest supplier is. Keep watching Carl & Christine ❤️❤️
Hi Carl Chris here, how many sheets of kingspan did you use in total and cost wise how does it compare to spray foam ,great vids by the way cheers Chris
Hi Chris thanks for watching glad your enjoying the videos. I used around 30 8 x 4 sheets of 25mm kingspan but I did insulate the floor as well I paid around £18 a sheet but I do have an account at the merchants. So around £600 which is cheaper than spray foam but obviously it takes a lot of time to install compared to spray foam, but my main reason for installing the kingspan was you get a uniform depth of installation all over the boat which is what I wanted to achieve Keep watching all the best Carl & Christine ❤️❤️
That has always been the down fall of the British is they always placed the 12V wiring in that was wrong if it requires a 6mm than place a 7mm and just in case better safe than sorry later . Its what killed the more British cars than rust was to light of wiring .
We start our first fit-out next year thank you so much for everything you’ve posted
Carl ! . . . . Outstanding my friend! Great to watch, and keep them coming :-)

Great video. Will you not get any condensation issues in your socket wall plates; with your sockets being against the metal sides?

Don’t understate that.
