Narrowboat build and fit out part 4 Installing the battens
Miss you
I would have liked to have seen how you fixed the shower tray drain, one minute it wasn't done, then when you silicone the edge it was fitted, I bet you struggled.
Has to be Artic Blue Cable! Does it, the fixed installation doesn’t move or it shouldn’t so any rated flex can be used. The only flex that has to extreme temp rated is the shoreline
Wish you guys would come back but hope all is well
Have these videos finished now, I cant find next one.
Show is what you’re talking about instead of your face, it’s not supposed to be like FaceTime, it’s supposed to be a video of what you’re doing.
Whatever happened to the build and other videos?
Nooooo. Where did he go? I stumbled upon this channel two weeks ago and watched it all in one go. Totally brilliant. Hope he is okay. Have learnt so much.
How’s the build
Hi Carl. I’ve come across your channel yesterday. I’m going through a build of a boat, I’m not doing it as I’m not a DIYer. But having watched my own boat built and binged you videos, I think you are doing a great job. Yes, it’s different, but the principle of your build Carl, I think is excellent. Did you ever finish it and if so, what did they finished product look like? RUclips narrowboating stuff now is saturated. Difficult to gain traction so I can understand if you don’t. All the best.
Come back guys. We’re missing you all terribly. We need to see your great progress. Hope you are all safe.
Hi all, does anyone know the name of the marina/yard? Truse all is well with Carl
Hi mate loving the build and tips I'm a new subscriber just binged watched the lot and hope you are all well. Have you sailed away into paradise. Cheers Mike
Have you stopped building your narrowboat, no new videos in ages
Best ever shared know-how and got me thinking about doing the same but not heard or seen anymore after ep 15. Hope you guys are ok and well and wish you a merry xmas
We start our first fit-out next year thank you so much for everything you’ve posted
Good to know your better 👍
Came back to you site again and still nothing new. Hope again all is well
I do hope you and yours are well. I have loved seeing how to fit out a narrowboat your way it looks like it will stand the test of time be blessed
Anyone know if this build is still ongoing? I hope all is well.
Hi Carl :-) - I'm not a narrowboater yet, but I will be once I get back to the UK from South Africa. Great vlogs by the way, and I have watched what must be hundreds by now of other boaters while I prepare for narrowboat life. Just an observation Carl, and I know you are more experienced than me in fitting out a boat, but in regards to the ballast, I have seen it many times on other vlogs, but tile separators were used to allow space for any water to move in the bilge. Just my thoughts my friend :-)
Yowm right that shiny ply looks like the inside of a static caravan I don't like the look of that myself. Personally I would have gone thinner on the wall ply just to keep the weight down and it's more flexible, but whatever floats your boat LOL 🤣🤣👍🏻
Bostin job, decent sized tray an all. 👍🏻👍🏻
If it weren't for possible water absorption and scarcity I would suggest reclaimed storage heater bricks those things are very heavy for their size
Did u get the boat finish as I will be getting mine started July next year and will be getting the same shell and doing it in the same marina and trying to get a sense of the work ahead and was wondering if u would be so kind to give me some pointers
Hi there, we are really enjoying watching you fit out your boat and hope to do the same ourselves in the next few years. You are our inspiration!! Can I ask why you choose kingspan insulation over a spray? Thank you so much in advance. Lee & Ali
Hi Carl, Hope you guys are ok ? really looking forward to an update on your build !! Cheers, Nigel
Worrying times sir - many, many folk are concerned for you, trust you and your family are keeping well.
Hi Captain Carl I've just watched your shower installation and liked the detail. I'm installing a new bathroom on my narrowboat this winter and am interested in the size and make of shower tray you installed. I also note that it is low profile, does the whale gulper keep up with the water flow? Thanks in advance.
Wot a craftsman you are the detail is fantastic just hope your ok we all miss you
I love how you always show the fixings and adhesives. Really useful.
Haven’t seen you for awhile. Hope all ok
Just finished part 15 brilliant. hope your all ok

Carl ! . . . . Outstanding my friend! Great to watch, and keep them coming :-)
What was all the music called in this vlogg
Ok what happened to this channel did you finnish the boat?
Is it really expensive to have the hull spray foamed ?
Good to see the plumbing fittings close up. it's coming along nicely. Cheers.
Another ex narrowboater in Tassie. Good luck and more whistling please, it's becoming a lost art. Cheers
Hi, do hope all is ok, having followed from the start of your journey just a little concerned. Take care, apologies if an intrusion at this time.
Haven't heard from you guys for awhile, hope everything is OK
Hi Carl, Time to give us an update !! Cheers Nigel
Good morning, would you have anymore videos on this build? I have enjoyed watching them all and am excited to see the finished boat. Hope your well. 😊
Hello mate I really do hope your ok.I’ve been on board with you ever since the start of your series and think the what you’ve accomplished so far plus sharing it all with us an incredibly generous and valuable thing thing to do .Colin ,who before you shared with us his boat fit out journey was great too and a real character but you take a lot more time to go over the details with us novices which is golden .Kind regards mate
Hi mate, I ditto your comments. I’d like to see how it’s going on because I’m now not far behind him on my build. He inspired me. I’m on “the Narrowboat that James built” if you’re interested
And us too. Really hoping you are all ok matey
Hi Carl. awesome coverage of the boat build, hoping to take same trip in 8 years time when I retire, what made you choose Debdale Wharf Marina, and any chance of putting a full list of the stuff you used , eg ; glues etc etc, keep up the good work and hope you and your family stay safe , all the best Gaz
