I cry as I write this song because it reminds me of my Dad who was a record salesman his entire life. He loved music and when this song came out in the late 70s he was instantly hooked on it. Back then we didn't have the help of the internet to look things up in a flash and my Dad could not figure out the one line in this song "I'm not talking bout movin in". He thought he sang "I'm not talkin melinian". Stupid story I know but reminds me of my Dad.
I fell in love with this song when I was a Little Boy when I first heard it. Brings back memories of my Sweet Stepmother who's Parents were living off the Pacific Ocean and also had a Girl-friend in Santa Monica. Everytime I take a drive down the Santa Monica Freeway, I think about this song and the beautiful memories she has left.
What makes me sad is, the fact that there are so many younger people who love listening to this music because most of todays music is not up to par...and most of the singers use mechanics to enhance their voices. Thank God I grew up in an era that made me appreciate what good music was all about. Thanks for sharing this song! Peace!
A great song written by Parker McGee. It made it to #2 in September of 1976. The lyrics are - "I'm not talking 'bout moving in and I dont want to change your life, but there's a warm wind blowing the stars around and I'd really love to see you tonight"
Ken Foye ..im so sorry for your loss..i have an 8 year old & i pray God will give me a long life for him & my four other boys..i wish i could give you a hug..😢
I lost both my grand parents one to a car accident and one to lung cancer. I miss them so much. This song makes me think of them. I will never forget them.
I haven´t listened to this song for thirty years. I´ve just found it at random !!. I was hosted in a family in Southern California when I was teen in the last 70´s and I still remember a warm wind blowing my hair when driving along the beach listening to this song. I am....thrilling.
As many HUNDREDS upon HUNDREDS of times I've heard this song on retail-outlet Muzak systems and preset office radios throughout the United States, it still gets me right in the tear-ducts, every-time. That's what you call CLASSIC.
Amazing song. It celebrates life, love, companion with a few simple words. Sometimes simple things are the greatest things to do, when you do them with someone you love...
This is the most AWESOME song EVER!!! OMG this takes me back to when times were more simple, people were better and many loved ones were still alive! I love this song!!!
that was a beautiful summer...14...my first love...and my whole life in front of me...the best thing about is...my first love is now back in my life...after 30 years
Me encanta este video, la letra es justo para mí...y para otra persona especial!!!. Aunque nací en los 70, descubrí este tema ...y lo amo!!..-qué lindas canciones las de antes!!!
I just lost my brother this early morning and I am so glad I had a chance to see him and say goodbye. Great closure and I just love this song -- we had beautiful weather today in the high 50s for January Seattle Washington -- we took a drive along the beach -- and gas prices are unbelievable $1.68 a gallon here
George Roberts So true and when I got that dreadful call from my mom I tried in vain to talk her into going -- because he may not last another day - no one really knew but I had a gut feeling that this was an urgent matter and I wasn't going to stop until I got there -- it appeared he didn't want my mom to see him in poor health and so his x-wife was only honoring my brother's wishes --and I will always remember the day I drove all night to see him -- and I let nothing stop me not even my sister who tried to keep where he was at which hospital he was in a secret - I found out by calling hospitals where he was living and I'm so glad I stuck to my convictions because seeing him on his last hour was something I will always cherish -- and yes it brought closure for me while my mom will always regret not being there and my sister who claimed to be close to my brother kept others from seeing him that is all but me. Hold on to your convictions! I do feel this was a very selfish act coming from my brother as well as his x-wife and my sister.
thanks. I was glad I went with my intuition because my mom chose to wait until Sunday and to go with my sister. I chose not to wait and left that night and was able to see him..
I have never fought for a woman. If you left me, i watched you leave and thought about you again... until her. She is everything i have ever dreamed about in a woman. She walked away and i gave her some space and then sang this song to her... and at 49 years of age i am honestly in love now...
BEAUTIFUL. ..WHAT WE DO ...MUSIC THE BEST!!! WOULD BE LOST WITHOUT IT. TO MY GUY NED COFFEY THANK YOU FOR ALL U DO!!! WE ARE ONE...I LOVE YOU!!! ALWAYS CORINA ANN M.LAS...
ahhh...Laurie in Nashville...i will never forget your lovely voice and your sweet sweet smile. it could be a thousand years, and i will still instantly remember...
When we were junior high school students, we always discussed what they were saying after "I'm not talkin' 'bout...". But we never ever thought about millennium!
This is one of my all time fave songs. This is an incredibly beautiful song. The man's voice is very kind sounding, the words very sweet, the music beautiful. wonder who it was written for?
This song is so calming and relaxing. I remember this from my childhood. I was about 2 or 3. I didn’t know what the lyrics meant, but it sounded good to my toddler ears!
Just a subtle reminder of how epically cool 70's music can be.

I was around 15 at this time, now I'm 50 and still enjoy listening to this song.
Ah, this is the stuff! What an incredible song. They don't write' em like this anymore. Beautiful stuff.
I refuse to get married until I meet a woman who loves this song as much as me. She must be out there somewhere!

Ken Foye, My mom's been gone for almost 16 years. I love and miss her everyday. This song reminds me of her too.
sorry to hear that, I lost my mother 3 years ago, and music takes on special significance when it reminds us of those who were so important.
Agree!! :)
I lost both my grand parents one to a car accident and one to lung cancer. I miss them so much. This song makes me think of them. I will never forget them.
