Just found you! It is so refreshing to hear about apple styling from an actual apple! Non-apples don't seem to really get it. Especially for those of us who aren't carrying as much extra weight. Wonderful tips and demonstrations and explanations!
Omg yes! I feel every Apple styling video I watch is for those carrying that extra weight 🤦🏻♀️ Most of them think Apple = automatically huge belly/plus size, they definitely don’t get it!
@@PetiteDressing I love your sense of humor and your passion for fashion. As a woman who prefers to be very modest, as in not showing my cleavage or neckline, even though it's very, very, beautiful and large, how do you suggest I dress for my apple body? For religious reasons, I do not wear anything that is shorter sleeve than right above my elbow nor do I wear anything shorter than 2 inches below my knee.

Yours is exclusive and based on facts and logic, you give us explanations which I absolutely LOVE! And you are so funny at the same time! Your channel really is a gem! Love from Belgium 🇧🇪
Everything was clearly explained with the reasons WHY these are “no-no”s, instead just "trust me"! Hi from a fellow petit apple shape! Subscribed! Looking forward to more apple-shaped advice :)
Yes 🙌 it’s been tough - once I actually lost weight, it was impossible to find standard weight examples of apple shape. And also some of the examples of overweight apple bodies, I wonder if they even are apples shapes. it’s so hard 😂 so happy to find this channel too!
I've always thought I was square shape. But I gained a couple of pounds after giving birth and it's sick that all the fat is only around my waist. Not my arms, not my legs. They're still slender. Even after losing some weight later on, my tummy still protrudes. 🤣 Now I know why. It's just my body shape. And I just need to dress it correctly. Thanks so much for all the awesome tips! 😎❣️ New subscriber here 🥰
I love it when many of your recommendations came directly from trial-and-error. It's why you have plenty of advices on top of the plain basic 10ish rules that are seen and repeated everywhere.
I was always an hourglass, until my 40s. Then, without any weight gain, my waist just thickened, month by month, until I no longer had any waist definition. This is caused by declining estrogen levels, and there is really no way to stop, prevent or reverse it. (Even though I had extreme hot flashes, doctors denied me the hormone replacement therapy, based on my family and medical history.). The best thing is to accept it and learn how to style your new shape, that’s why I love Chi’s advice, she’s the best🙂
What I like most about what you do is you show people how to accept themselves as they are, and how to recognize, accentuate, and take pride in their strengths (assets, as you call them) instead of just focusing on and desperately trying to change their weaknesses. I'm another grateful follower of yours.. wish you all the best 🥰
Chi my lovely, I am neither an apple (I'm inverted triangle) nor a petite (5'7") but you're amazing. I love your tips and I've subscribed. Everything you say can be applied to anyone who wants to look longer and leaner so thank you so much.
CHI LI YOU ARE MY HERO 💞 I went shopping for a dress for my son's wedding I followed your advice and KABOOM I found the perfect dress for the wedding. I ended up with 4 amazing dresses. Thank you for your amazing insight and flawless advice. SUPER happy to have found your site. Keep up the great stylist work. Blessings Eve
Your comment made my day Eve! I'm so glad to hear you found the dress you love for an occasion so important! Congratulations too on your son's wedding!
I LOVE this video! I am 4'11" with a 34 inch waist, with hands and feet the size of a child (no joke I taught preschool so I know) and have always hated my pregnant looking body. These styling tips are so useful!
Yay for apples! I can confirm, when I lost weight I was surprised a waist didn't appear, a bit disappointing. I only really started investing in dresses over the last year and I agree the empire cut, ruching and wrap styles are the way to go. I love all these tips - I need to review this with items in my closet - especially the belts! Hey, more summer styles for apples going to the beach would be appreciated! Any thoughts about flattering cover ups?
So glad to hear that Maureen! Yes, I'll do some video for the beach season topics! Great suggestion! My favorite cover up is also the empire waist shape!
@@PetiteDressing I love your channel and I'm very glad Maureen asked for beach styles. I need help figuring out which swimsuit style would be flattering on my 5'0" frame.
Omg this video was everything! The trend now is pear shape/hourglass and everything is made for that "curvy" shape, jeans now especially. I can't find a good brand of jeans that cater to apple shape (always so tight on the belly but fit in the legs and hips. Do you have a video on that? No one makes jeans for us :( I appreciate all the specific tips. Invaluable! And all the compliments to remind us our shape is beautiful too, not just small waists and large hips/butts! Thank you, about to binge watch
Sheree- So glad I can help! I feel the same way about many jeans (too tight on the belly)- so I always let me belly determine the size, i.e. go one size up. You can get those with stretchy waist band too!
I’m an apple and I just found Eloquii, they have jeans for apple shaped and pear shaped! I think the style for apples is called Gena - I have a pair and I love them! They’re a little pricey but if you can catch them on sale they are super worth it!
I completely agree! I’m an apple shape and say the same thing, all jeans seem to cater to hourglass, pear, or athletic shaped ladies. I need one size up in the waist but then the butt and legs are too loose. I typically don’t wear jeans because of this.
I thought it was just me. So glad to hear it's an apple shape issue. I was over here thinking I had gained too much on my belly after baby and would never be able to wear jeans again. Every pair I tried was too tight around my waist. Now that I understand why I was having this issue, I can shop for jeans better informed.
OMG!! I LOVE your videos. I have been watching them for about 2 months and have learned so much. I couldn't be more opposite than you - 66 year old retired physician, tall and very thin but I still learn so much. My dressing has improved thanks to you.
This has been such a difficult thing for me for such a long time. I am very small (like you) but the mid-section is always tough to deal with. Thanks for the tips! Again, always a pleasure to watch your expert videos.
I never realized I am an apple shape until now! It can be so frustrating. Thank you for making this video! Please do more videos on apple shapes! It's so hard to find videos on this body type
Also I LOVEEE this video, you looked SO GOOD! this gives me more confidence, no one ever talks about our body shape, im very young so it feels so good seeing other people with my body shape talk positive about it
Retired nurse of 35yrs. My life was in uniform then very casual on off days with family dressing up was so stressful I’m sure I made mistakes, now I’m focusing on my new chapter in life ,petite an apple, great legs and silver hair shoulder length, you are extremely helpful
Love this video , thank you so much I’m a petite apple not skinny , going through menopause and have weight gain . I feel like I’m eating plastic food trying to loose my belly . You have helped me so much , so grateful for your channel . You bring a smile to my face , the most important thing to have when I get dressed .
Not only are your tips right on but the fact that you actually respond to comments is so appreciated. It sometimes seems that RUclipsrs want subscriptions & comments but fail to acknowledge questions. Hope you don't fall into the same category as your channel grows. 😉 Subscribed!👍
I gave you a like because I liked the video, but I still want to comment for the RUclips algorithm. This was very helpful to me. I'm going to buy a ruched dress now because I've always wanted to have a dress like that but didn't know if it would suit my shape. It's so flattering.
Wow thank you! This was a very good video and very informative. Most videos I've watched don't go into detail about the type of peplum top or high waisted top to wear/avoid. I have had that frustration of wearing one only to look more pregnant. I am not petite (I'm about a size 10), but this video was very helpful and enjoyable. : )
You have done the best video on apples. Some of the other ones...ugh! Make me feel worse or ashamed. All true. Years ago I lost a ton of weight and guess what? The stomach was the very last to go and not all of it. 😣.
Garlic girl Oh yeah, me too. I Iost a lot of weight, but my belly never go away. I think, maybe, it loves me too much that doesn't want to leave me.jijijijijij
Even after lipo 3 times over a span of like 10 years, I still have a belly and no waist and have never been plus sized🤦🏽♀️…. Now approaching 40, I’m going to embrace my thin legs and full boobs and keep it moving😁💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽
Thank you for the tips! Much appreciated! Used to be an hourglass shape not too long ago but age and the pandemic have turned me into an apple shape and it’s really difficult! I will definitely be starting an exercise program as of Monday but in the meantime I was desperate for what to wear Thank you 😊 Us petite/short women need all the support we can get LOL
I literally stopped searching for styling videos for apple body shape, it used be for over weight, and I couldn't relate, that was very disappointing. But I just tried today searched for it again.... And I came across your video... I'm feeling satisfied yeh that's the word. 😊 I'm not skinny and aam neither over weight. So this video was really relatable. Thank you ☺️💖
Thank you again, I am with you on wrap dresses, being 4ft 8 , big arms, tummy, legs and buttocks, the wrap dress is my to go, in midi or maxi, it makes me feel confident and beautiful! Thanks!
I was instantly like yep that's exactly my body type when I saw you in the gym wear 😂 I am already 28 and I am only recently learning what suits me best (also colourwise)
Me! Even when I'm so thin my hipbones poke out, I don't have that hip/waist ratio that everyone desires. I'm shaped like a brick from the front. All my curves are seen from the side LOL
Nice video and good advice , but what you didn't talk about was what people wear everyday.. jeans... and similar clothing items... I for one , even if I'm an apple shape, don't wear dresses, only on special occasions...
That light blue Nicole Miller dress looks divine on you!! Also, I gave away my only peplum dress last year and now I seriously regret it and am trying to find a replacement.
I'm exactly the same shape, height and size. Your video is essential viewing for women with our body type. I'm eager to do a complete wardrobe change after watching this. Thanks. Xxxx
Hi Chi, finally 🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎sss The cellophane wrapping jijijiii. What a flamenco dance, love itttt. Georgeous dress, congrats!!!! Thanks for all these greats tips.
Thank you for being so positive. I stay away from wrap dresses because of all the attention in the bust area. But thank you for your tips. Will try a safety pin next time!
Aaaaaaaawwwwe I love that you are complimenting our assests first!! Thank you🥰 I love dresses too, pants/shirts can be complicated My new favorite type of dresses are knee length slip dresses, so flattering and can be styled so many ways
Thank you for this video, being apple shape I never thought I look good in dresses, by watching this video I am more confident what to look for. You look grate in dresses.
this is the best Apple shapevideo I've ever seen, while I am not petite, I am a short waisted Apple with long legs and your tips are great for my chubby Apple shape!
I have always dressed to hide my tummy. When I gained weight I had a butt. Now that I'm thinner my butt is back to flat. No hips either. Kathy B. The ruched dress looks better on me in a print.
Thank you for this video. My weight fluctuates a lot, and therein so does my body shape. When I'm slimmer, I'm an hourglass - soon as I put weight on, I'm an apple (goes on my waist - then there GOES my waist). So it's been such a struggle to keep shifting the way I dress to fit my shape. This has really helped, grateful for that ⭐💗
And again a great Video of yours! ❤ I'm not an apple shape but I have to hide a small belly. Somehow I was never confident enough to wear dresses but I will definitely try it. All of your wrap dresses look so good! 😍
This was a very helpful video! Thank you! I am a small busted apple shape, so I don't have much up top to distract from my stomach. I would really appreciate style recommendations from my fellow apple shaped sisters 💗
Thank you! You are right on the dot! Everything you said is sooooo true! I am an apple shape as well and have really hard time when I have to wear pants. I never like it!
I am a plus-size apple, and it is so difficult to find anything flattering! I am a true apple, with large belly but small chest. Many of the styles you mentioned are not flattering on me, but empire waists and waterfall cardigans are definitely two that I love. I've been heavy most of my life, but I was thin several years ago, and it was a whole new world where it seemed like everything flattered me. When I lost weight, it didn't seem so much like I was an apple, but almost more like the rectangle shape.
My ex use to call my legs “Bambi legs”😄 the nickname was cute to me and broke me out of my insecurities about it…. Remember “the legs are the last to go”😁 we’re lucky to have slender legs and nice boobs!! We just have to dress properly to accentuate the positive
You are so adorable! Thank you so much for this video. I love your helpful tips. I've been shopping for fall clothes and I just leave the stores empty handed and discouraged. I feel like the fashion industry doesn't have a lot to offer the apple shape, it's so frustrating. Thank you for helping me to see what styles I should be looking for...this is the fresh perspective I needed.
I am a short (5'2") apple shape and have always hated my shape. It's so hard to find clothes for my body shape here in the UK. The retailers here just don't cater for petite sizes and don't even get me started on petite maternity clothes. They just don't exist.
I used to hate my curvy mascular legs but I'm slowly learning to love it. Thanks to all the people on RUclips who made a video about apple shape and always mentioned that we have nice legs 😂
Thank you so much you changed the way I think about my body I always thought that the perfect body shape is tge hourglass body only so I always wanted to change my body type but now I think I am starting to like my body and it's all thanks to you🥰❤️❤️
Skinny apple here as well! I was watching your video while eating pasta for dinner lol. Your tips are great, actually I love dresses and skirts, maybe I figured out subconsciously that they work well for my body type. But I didn't know that about ruched dresses! Thanks for sharing :)
Great video. Love your energy. I've been having trouble dressing but am definitely loving your tips. They make perfect sense. I've been dressing wrong all this time.
I have the chubby stomach but also the inverted triangle shoulders and I am petite. Could you make a video that covers inverted apples? Love your channel!
Thank you! So many videos equate apple with being plus size but I am apple size and I am average for my height so it is hard to find good advice. Thanks!
Because of knee surgery, I cannot wear high heals any longer or for a long period of time. You have excellent fashion dress. I always could tell wjen I looked in the mirror, immediately I knew what was flattering. I'm apple
After being very, very thin most of my youth I am now, in my 50's, an apple shape with a menopause 'belly'. Wrap dresses are a godsend for me and I wear them a lot. Maxi's, midi's - I love them. I feel feminine, slimmer, my décolleté is enhanced - apples never go wrong with wrap dresses and even wrap tops and blouses. I even admit to wearing a Waist Trainer beneath my wrap dress to smooth and flatten out any lumps and bumps.
Omg girl! That's so genius!!! Totally loved ❤️ I am a plus size Apple shape and i thought i was hour glass shape until i saw your videos, Well done girl 👌👌
I adore the positivity. I've never felt good about being an apple but this video made me feel a little better. Thank you!!

Aaaaaaaawwwwe I love that you are complimenting our assests first!! Thank you🥰
I love dresses too, pants/shirts can be complicated
My new favorite type of dresses are knee length slip dresses, so flattering and can be styled so many ways
You are so welcome!
Thank you for this video, being apple shape I never thought I look good in dresses, by watching this video I am more confident what to look for. You look grate in dresses.
You can do it! Dresses show off our legs!
this is the best Apple shapevideo I've ever seen, while I am not petite, I am a short waisted Apple with long legs and your tips are great for my chubby Apple shape!
Glad you like it!
I'm also happy that you've pointed out that my bust and legs are my best assets. Time to show them off 😆
I have always dressed to hide my tummy. When I gained weight I had a butt. Now that I'm thinner my butt is back to flat. No hips either.
Kathy B.
The ruched dress looks better on me in a print.
Thanks for sharing Kathy!
All along i thought i was a rectangle. Thanks for videos like these, don't be shy to add more. God bless!
You always crack me up. 😂. I watch you at night before going to bed to relax. Thanks!
I'm so glad!
This has really helped, grateful for that ⭐💗
You're very welcome! 💗
Thank you so much for this video. I came in feeling bad about my body and instantly feel a lot better! thank you so much for your positivity ❤️
You're so welcome!
Wow, all the apple-flattering outfits look fabulous!
Love the flamenco!
And again a great Video of yours! ❤ I'm not an apple shape but I have to hide a small belly. Somehow I was never confident enough to wear dresses but I will definitely try it. All of your wrap dresses look so good! 😍
Thank you Bianca! Yes, try dresses and let me know how you like them!
This was a very helpful video! Thank you! I am a small busted apple shape, so I don't have much up top to distract from my stomach. I would really appreciate style recommendations from my fellow apple shaped sisters 💗
You're so welcome! ❣️
As an apple shape, I absolutely love your channel! Another wonderful video.
Thanks for sharing!!
I'm a true apple too. I have fashion channel with plenty of styling videos.
I'm an apple and I'm a UK size 12-14. I love the maternity clothing as well in a size smaller
Omg finally some actual practical tips that work. Thank you so much!
So glad I saw this. I’m an apple 🍎 not overweight, I’ve just always had a bigger upper body, a wide waist and scrawny legs.
My ex use to call my legs “Bambi legs”😄 the nickname was cute to me and broke me out of my insecurities about it…. Remember “the legs are the last to go”😁 we’re lucky to have slender legs and nice boobs!! We just have to dress properly to accentuate the positive
Me too. I'm always self conscious of my wide waist and very skinny legs. It hurts to see most apples have nice legs 😵
Love the tips you share. Can you do a video on best shorts for shorter, petite women with heavier legs? Thank you!
Great suggestion Ellen!
You are so welcome, Kristi!
The blue dress compliments your complexion very well.
Thank you so much 🙂
Omg I love you. Thank you. I am 34 and just realizing I have an apple shape and this is helping a lot.
So glad to hear- we apples have killer legs!
I'm apple shaped and with very skinny legs,,,help me
I love that flamenco dress!
Thanks for adding the bit about the curvy apple shape. You have great ideas but not all of them apply the curvy apple shape.
Love your personality! 👏👏👏
Thank you!
I am an apple shape. I love empire waist dresses. You are though not all are created equal. I love long flowy cardigans too.
Chi you are the best!!💕
Thank you love!
Thank you! So many videos equate apple with being plus size but I am apple size and I am average for my height so it is hard to find good advice. Thanks!
Happy to help! So glad you think so!
Because of knee surgery, I cannot wear high heals any longer or for a long period of time. You have excellent fashion dress. I always could tell wjen I looked in the mirror, immediately I knew what was flattering. I'm apple
Chi, I love your videos! Such great information with actual examples, thank you!
Thank you, Lisa! Glad you love it!
Best video I have seen on how to dress an apple. Thank you for the great tips!
as soon as you danced, I subscribed. love your energy.
Yay! Thank you!
Oh my dearest Chi, you made my day🤸🏻♀️🤸🏻♀️🤸🏻♀️
So glad to hear Eve!
What a coincidence! I actually found a video saying that wrap around dresses are already outdated. I wont consider a 3-year old video outdated.
You got the best advice I found so far
After being very, very thin most of my youth I am now, in my 50's, an apple shape with a menopause 'belly'. Wrap dresses are a godsend for me and I wear them a lot. Maxi's, midi's - I love them. I feel feminine, slimmer, my décolleté is enhanced - apples never go wrong with wrap dresses and even wrap tops and blouses. I even admit to wearing a Waist Trainer beneath my wrap dress to smooth and flatten out any lumps and bumps.
So true! Thanks for sharing, Cottie!!
Omg girl! That's so genius!!! Totally loved ❤️ I am a plus size Apple shape and i thought i was hour glass shape until i saw your videos, Well done girl 👌👌
Thank you! Glad you liked it!
