Bought a box of Legato yellow and played them after your first video about them. Always liked the Wilson Triad, or the Callaway Chrome Soft. Thought these were the best balls to play. Triads price has inched up and Chrome Soft was always a premium priced ball. Really enjoyed the Legato balls over the last 5 rounds. Price is great as well at $26 a dozen! I’m ordering them again when I need to replenish my ball inventory! Thanks for the comparison!
@@LetsPlayThru I tried the legato ball one of the worst balls I ever played with. As mid handicap cheaper isn’t better. Currently playing with an vice pro plus ball
@@maxoutauto Funny how that works, I shot my lowest round ever with Legato a 77. And you had such bad results. It just proves we are all individual with specific likes. Hit em straight....
Great Video, bought a dozen a couple weeks ago, the ball is fantastic, great feel, spin and distance. What more do you want. My driver club head speed is between 100-105. Bought 5 more dozen on Prime Day, they were selling for $19.99… wow!! These are now in the bag, no more TP5’s. Thanks again for the vid!!
It's great to see you being recognized on golf ball addicts channel by all of us who watch your videos and you guys giving each other the shout out another great video gabe
Thank you for for linking Golf Ball Addict's channel! I really think his method needs more exposure. Your team work integrity on this platform is one of my favorite things about you. I would love to see you two collaborate on something in the future.
Been playing the Legato off and mostly on for just over a year now. I'd highly recommend these to anyone looking to play a three piece ball. Especially for a budget price. Caveat is they are every bit as durable as the PV1. They definitely play well in windy conditions as well due to a "hot off the face" boring flight that holds it's line quite good. Go for it!
I finally bought a dozen after watching the Golf Ball Addict video and did exactly what he was noting. I know you didn’t do a green side test in this video but the ball checks up so nicely even on firm greens. However, I still like my Vice drips…but I also like Price with my performance and this is winning out. FYI - the Legato 10% off currently on Amazon, plus free shipping if a Prime member. Stock up!!!
I’ve been gaming the Legato for the past month based on Gabe’s review. WOW!!! These definitely go head to head with Pro V1 if not better in overall performance and feedback. Call it coincidence, but I shot my personal best rounds with these balls. Made me a believer. Switching over to Legato exclusively and saving money by buying 2 boxes for the price of 1 Pro V1. If you’re on the fence, pick some up, they are the real deal.
I watched your video on this a few months ago. I started playing them. I’ve hit two of my longest drives of my life with this ball soft around the greens thank you for this review. It saved me about $20 a box🎉
I bought a box of these after watching your first video on them. Cost me £22 I'm in Scotland btw. Played with one last week and it was brilliant great spin and distance I think I hit my longest drive of the season 👍⛳
Bought 2 dozen of the Legato a while back, have not used them yet as I am still trying to get my game back up to where it used to be. Would love to see a Kirkland vs Legato video. Thanks and love your videos.
I got 2 dozen of the yellow Legato after I saw your first review and I was quite impressed. Great distance off the driver. Nice medium to high trajectory and the spin and bite around the greens was incredible!! I never looked back. These balls are the real deal. If you’re still on the fence just order one box and see for yourself! At 26 bucks it’s a no brainer!!!! Great review Gabe!!!

I bought them after your first review, I love them! It seems like it took me a while to get the feel putting them, but that might’ve just been me. I’ve ordered several boxes and will be ordering again. Thanks for sharing.
I played the Legato as my winter ball this year. It performed very well. The only issue I found was it may be a little less durable than the ProV1, but for the price, it's an excellent ball. I currently play the OnCore Elixer wich performs great as well, but you can get them for $20 a dozen on sale.
Here's a revised version of your message: I've been playing with these and really like them. I've shared this with a few friends who are just now buying them and getting ready to try as well.
Bought my first box after a previous review. Knowing I was getting low. I really like how they feel and carry. Great option for someone like me who loves the water lol. Would love to see a comparison of Kirkland and legato balls side by side. “Battle of the budget balls”
Legato is a terrific ball. It's durabilty is very good. I played a whole round with one ball and it still looks new. Plenty of spin and control, distance.
I bought a box about a month ago, gave 2 sleeves to my son to try as well. Hes fairly new so he lost them fairly quick. I kept mine for a while and enjoyed playing them. I felt they performed well and were quite durable. Usually with the cheaper balls they scuff up quickly, but these didnt. Id buy again as long as price creep doesnt start.
Great video. I'll give them a shot and see. Been playing Vice Pro for the last 2 seasons and have been very pleased. Works out to be a little over $30/dozen when I order in bulk.
Hi Gabe, I am a Golfball Addict guy too! I still play the Taylor Made Tour Response Stripe green. The Maxfli’s Tour & X are killing too! I could play these! Good review! Thanks
I've been playing them for a couple of months now for a month or two. I've been getting better results than with the kirklands that was my previous cheap ball choice, at least as good as TM tour response, calloway super soft, which come in more expensive. The Legato is particularly good in the wind. Paid $24.99 for my first box, $29.99 for the second. Also, for those asking, they are durable. Though I'm much more likely to lose a ball before having to retire one because of damage, I've made it through 2 or 3 rounds with the same ball after hitting out of sand, and into trees and cart paths.
I really liked this video and I LOVE messing around with different balls. So any time you wanna compare I'm down! I haven't tried the Legato's, but I plan on it when I buy more! I want to see comparisons with Sumbonum ($19.99!) and Wilson Smart Core.
Gabe, after your first review, I grabbed a box off of Amazon. They are as you said. Very good ball. I’m surprised how good they are around the green. They really grab and hold. Thanks for the heads up.
Had bought a 24ct pack on a special from Amazon before I saw your 1st review. Just my opinion without any numbers, they felt similar to the Kirkland golf balls but with just a little better spin. They are a great ball for us mere mortals, especially for the price!

I play these as a result of your channel. I have a 108 SS and 156 BS with driver. If there is a diff between these and PV1, I have no idea. They do the job. For me, there are so many uncontrollable factors affecting where the ball lands so if there is a difference I can’t imagine I would ever notice.
Hi, Gabe. Have you tried the Odin X1? Very similar pricing (net - after cash back) if you buy directly from their website. Would lover for you to do a ball comparison video with Odin and your favorite Legato.
Thanks to the prime day deal, I ordered a couple boxes. It'll be an interesting comparison against the Maxfli Tour S. Similar general price, construction, and compression. Im excited to take them for a "spin"!
I'll definitely be giving these a go. Would be cool if MGS could get these into their testing lineup. IMO their testing process is the most comprehensive and rigorous in the bizz. Its why I've been gaming the Maxfli Tour balls for the past 3 years. Their report can make or break a ball. Just ask Callaway 😬
I am a 5 handicap and have bought and played this ball (after watching your vid), seems legit to me. It would be cool to see you do the balance test on these! great stuff.. Thanks
Maxfli is the only producer that balance spins their balls. Some of the other producers use dimple pattern for straight flight. Wilson used layer balancing for Triad, they have a two piece Velocity Straight that has dimple pattern design for straight flight! Good luck
When it comes to golf ball testing I think the only thing you missed was maybe some chip and pitch shots to supplement the full swing numbers. Also the most important thing for me would also be balance consistency from ball to ball. Perhaps a salty ball test to add to the test you've already done.
I appreciate the effort that you put into this review. I will probably give these balls a try. My problem with all these cheaper balls has been durability. If you have to discard the ball after the first bunker shot, then they are not really cheaper.
I tried a lot of golfballs cause I always find them on the course. I found a taylormade distance ball on the course ($20 for 12) and I managed to hit it for an entire round and not lose it so now those are the balls I use now lol and they give my putter better feedback than a supersoft ball. I find myself always over hitting the supersoft ball on the greens because there is so little feedback. If you can find a ball you can keep in play the longest.. hit those lol and if the side effect of me hitting a cheap ball is "extra distance" then I fail to see the downside of hitting a cheaper distance ball. Taylormade still a pretty solid brand. If I had to guess the biggest differences... Bryson has been doing the epsom salt thing to find the best "balanced" balls to use and I bet with a premium ball you find more overall balanced balls in a box. There is a lot more precision that probably goes into making them. So really it's not that the premium ball is always out performing the other balls, but rather they are more consistent in their performance. I really think that balance in the ball is SOO critical when it comes to ball performance because the balls are spinning at 1000's of rpms. I don't know if you ever player with any type of ring that has a balance to it... like spinning a bike tire on its side or a balancing a car tire.. or spinning a top on a table... something that is even slightly out of balance has real woppling issues when they start to spin. Bryson is balancing the balls so that they spin end of end using the balance spot on the ball. When you put the ball in salt water, the heavier denser side of the ball will always go towards the bottom. He marks the top and puts a line through it so the ball spins end over end and not at any sort of angle. It is the single smallest most unnoticable difference that affects all of our golf game the absolute most without us knowing it. Even with a perfect swinging golf machine, there is STILL variance in the ball and the ball flights and it's absolutely because of the ball itself and how it is positioned and balanced. Add in scuff marks and any sort of dirt on a ball that small and light and the effect on the ball can really be quite drastic. I think hitting these balls into a shot monitor is interesting, but you are 100% right in that the direct difference ball vs ball are getting really small this day in age where we have basically the perfect designed golf balls... the real difference in these balls that is going to go unnoticed is simply the consistency of ALL the balls over a period of time. The higher priced premium balls are all going to perform more similar to one another over the cheaper balls. You will inevitably come across cheaper balls that are just really well made and they are going to outperform even bad premium balls. It's hard to notice because it's like suddenly you get a string of really good golf shots until you lose it or it gets scuffed and dirty and it throws the balance of it off and it stops performing. You switch balls and you get one that isn't balanced the best and you don't really notice a difference between the dirty and the scuffed ball the new one you are using but really both of them are worse than the really well balanced one you were using and played really good golf with. When Bryson balanced his balls he is at the minimum making sure the wobble of the ball is always end over end. It will never be sideways or at an angle if he can help it. I really do think it helps more than people give it credit. If I had to ask for something from one of the big golf companies... I want a golf ball that the ball company balances and marks the balls with a dot in epsom salt water like Bryson does at both the premium and and non premium level and I think those balls would be more consistent and outperform basically every other ball on the market. If a company like Legato did that to their balls for the consumers, it would set them miles and miles ahead of the competition in my eyes. Like a no name company could start doing it and add that one extra step and effort into it and completely blow up in the golf market... could easily build a laser machine to automate doing it. It would be an investment for the company but it would be a really wise one. I don't see any ball on the market that does that. It ought to be their moto and their selling point. Sorry for rambling so much lmao I got REALLY carried away with this post...
Brand-for-brand, it doesn't matter. Everyone (except Callaway) off-shores their manufacturing. Anyone can make a good ball, and almost no one makes a bad one. The real decision is which model for each brand? I tend to be a tier below the Tour-level ball. That means if I want Titleist, it's the AVX. TaylorMade? Tour Response. Snell (which I do play)? Prime 3.0. I CARRY the driver 230 and the 7-iron 160. I need a ball with a bit more distance, yet is still workable around the greens. I like the Snell, but I can't say it's better than the TM, Titleist, or Wilson Triad. Those distinctions just don't matter. Pick the right class of ball, as well as other features that appeal to you (like markings).
Currently play TP5X (old model) which I got a deal on for $49 a box for 3 delivered (18 months ago) … On looking at the Legato it’s $63 a dozen here in Australia & can still get TP5X (new model) for $62 a box, so not cheap option everywhere.
@@letsplaythrutravelI played my first round with these today. I usually play the Pro V1. I was pretty impressed. I thought they were pretty comparable but of course at quite the discount. I’m definitely going to be making the switch. Thanks!
I would highly recommend average golfers and maybe some better golfers. Try this ball for the price you won’t be disappointed. For years I have played the top flight gamer or Bridgestone balls …. For a three-piece urethane cover ball with soft feel around greens and good compression off the club face and good trajectory . GREAT VALUE Ball for the price 👍🏌🏻♂️⛳️😉
These are great, I was playing the TP5x, but these are about the same and half the price. Side not if you auto ship you will get A even better price with Amazon
Many times the difference between a premium ball vs a discount is not the performance metric club to club. But the quality control of construction ball to ball. On a launch monitor the balls performance might look similar. But often the case is that the discount balls will have a higher percentage of balls per dozen that don't meet quality standards.
It was a good ball, I spin the ball too much so I play pro v 1 and or AVX, the legato was a bit spinny fir me plus way less durable. I tend to play a ball for a couple rounds. Legato made it through just a few wedge shots before the cover was on my clubs but good budget ball
Costco's brand Kirkland, had a ball so close to ProV1 they got sued. But they were supposedly just as good as PV1 but half the cost. Sadly they're no longer made due to the lawsuit.
Current price £39.95 ($51) a box on amazon uk so no great bargain sadly. I enjoyed the video and probably would have tried them if the uk price had been better.
The prices of golf equipment is criminal, balls included. I absolutely refuse to be part of the revenue to help pay tour pro's endorsement money. I have been playing the Maxfli tour x, great ball for the money. Thank Gabe for the review.
Something to keep in mind when it’s time to replace the stock. My only question would be durability. I tend to play a ball til I lose it so I may go through a dozen balls in a month (playing twice a week). Sometimes I lose even less. So to me a ball holding up for 18 plus holes is important.
@@LetsPlayThru we don’t have water like you do. Trees. Yep a lot of them. Hills. Oh yeah. Fescue? A fair number. But water holes are only a couple per course so if you manage that….
Both are valid of any ball. Here’s what I can say from playing over 25 dozen of them over the course of 6 months- I haven’t had a single one I thought was a lemon and this ball routinely holds up well over 18 holes if I can manage to miss a tree or a cartpath along the way 😀
Slow slow slow shipping even through amazon (still ships direct from Legato). Personally when I run low, I'd like to have them shipped out in a reasonable time (less that 10 days). Had to cancel. Always looking for value over name, maybe Ill try again later.
Indoor sims cant properly model aerodynamic properties, same results indoors can be pretty different outdoors Could be drastically different, especially if there's wind
The difference is that this Legato brand has no idea on golf ball technology and patents. They will go under since they will be sued once they start selling a good amount of golf balls. That could take awhile as the big brands don't really care unless your selling more than like 100,000 dozens a month.
Bought a dozen on your recommendation. Love the feel, that 85 compression is just buttery smooth. I also tested them against Callaway soft balls and they felt like rocks in comparison. Legato Reminds me of the Nike PD soft that I used to play. Love them.
Titleist balls are a scam. I own 50 dozen Spalding SD tour 3 piece Urethane golf balls and play nothing else. Shot 75 yesterday at Golf Club of California and won't be buying anything else for a LONG time. $14 a dozen at rock bottom golf until they sell out.

Loved them playing! Amazingly good grip on the Green!
Glad to hear
Have you tested the Kirkland ball ??
Great golf ball for the price, love them so far and it doesn't hurt as much to see one go to Narnia! Great review/comparison!
🤣 so true!
Good morning from Australia mate. Head to head with the Seed golf ball mate that would be interesting to see
how were they around the green ? chipping and puttig?
Hes got a video showing that, go to his site and youll find the answer youre looking for.
Currently play TP5X (old model) which I got a deal on for $49 a box for 3 delivered (18 months ago) … On looking at the Legato it’s $63 a dozen here in Australia & can still get TP5X (new model) for $62 a box, so not cheap option everywhere.
Can’t wait to try it. Hopefully it’ll be an even better deal on Prime Days.
Def come back and update us when you do. Always interested to hear folk’s thoughts.
Wow Gabe, you look great! Even your face is thinner. I need to do whatever you’re doing. Thanks for the ball comparison as well.
I was a Callaway ERC soft guy. Tried the legato a year ago and I have never went back.
These are great, I was playing the TP5x, but these are about the same and half the price. Side not if you auto ship you will get A even better price with Amazon
Glad to hear you are saving some money, Michael 🙌. Very true on the shipping!
Many times the difference between a premium ball vs a discount is not the performance metric club to club. But the quality control of construction ball to ball. On a launch monitor the balls performance might look similar. But often the case is that the discount balls will have a higher percentage of balls per dozen that don't meet quality standards.
These do.
Can you review WISHON 771 csi irons...
Great review Have you reviewed the Pxg ball Gabe
Not officially, but I have played it and I was not a fan. Too firm and I found distance and feel was lacking.
unfortunately in the uk they are the same price and i no which i would pick
Are you playing these every round Gabe?
Yes have been for about 6 months, maybe longer
I find it interesting that I hit the ball further than Gabe. We swing driver the same 100-105 and my ball speed is usually 148-153.
It was a good ball, I spin the ball too much so I play pro v 1 and or AVX, the legato was a bit spinny fir me plus way less durable. I tend to play a ball for a couple rounds. Legato made it through just a few wedge shots before the cover was on my clubs but good budget ball
In the UK, the Legato comes in at £39.95 on Amazon against £47.95 for Pro V1 again on Amazon - the Legato is not competitive at that price difference.
Yeah that’s a shame
Same in Spain
The numbers say they are...
Did Legato discontinue their tour x version 4 piece 4085?
I haven’t seen it for sale since I’ve been using this ball. Would love to try it tho.
Dang it. I been hooked on Vice and Srixon. Now I gotta try something else. Great comparative video!
I was a big Vice fan when they were fully DTC and $24.99 for a tour ball. Now they are $34.99 - $39.99 and I just can’t stomach that.
@@LetsPlayThru You are so right. Wilson is doing the same. I think I will try these. Thank you.
@@LetsPlayThruyou can get 2 dozen vice pro at sams club for $50
The prices of golf equipment is criminal, balls included.
First off, good on you for playing the same ball full rounds 🙌 but yes, I find these balls to be as durable as any.
@@LetsPlayThru we don’t have water like you do. Trees. Yep a lot of them. Hills. Oh yeah. Fescue? A fair number. But water holes are only a couple per course so if you manage that….
I’ll give them a try once my large supply of Srixon’s have run out.
Playing more golf with the money I save playing these balls. 👍
Prime Day Deal for $19.97 today!
Don't think they're available in tje UK unfortunately
Not impressed with Legato. Did not find it matched Srixon Soft.
What’s the salty ballz info on the Legato?
🤣🤣 next test
Legatos are the goat!!!
I bought a box and play them regularly gave some to my friends and ask them to play them.
My two concerns with that Ball would be durability and Quality control during manufacturing.
These are $55 CAD... same sale price as Bridgestone Contact e12's and Tour B RX...which I know and trust. Sigh.
Indoor sims cant properly model aerodynamic properties, same results indoors can be pretty different outdoors
Could be drastically different, especially if there's wind
I’ve got the outdoor comparison as a link in the description if you want to check it out.
The difference is that this Legato brand has no idea on golf ball technology and patents. They will go under since they will be sued once they start selling a good amount of golf balls. That could take awhile as the big brands don't really care unless your selling more than like 100,000 dozens a month.
Daaaamn these balls are $52.99 a dozen for us Canadians.
Gabe and crew. Amazon prime day deals are offering these at $20 a dozen & $18 a dozen if you auto subscribe.
Oh snap that’s a deal and a half!!
Yep!!!!
Bought a dozen on your recommendation. Love the feel, that 85 compression is just buttery smooth. I also tested them against Callaway soft balls and they felt like rocks in comparison. Legato Reminds me of the Nike PD soft that I used to play. Love them.
85 is the sweet spot 🎯
This ball is an Amazon Prime Day deal today (7/16/2024) for only $20 if anyone sees this
£45 here in the UK. Far too expensive
Amazon Germany: 47 €.
