    man o man i love the videos you guys are putting up.. the dual perspective is great.. i just took my cb350 test ride today and I totally agree with pradip that the suspension is ok for stout guys, i myself being 85. The seat is substantially wide (stiffer side too) unlike what we perceive from the videos/reviews. The pillion comfort is not good at all in my opinion as i myself sat as pillion and there is no proper grab rail as such.. of course wife can grab on to her husband but for a single guy like me riding with my colleague or friend not so happy a "situation"..!! As on today they have no plans to bring in a back rest, so I guess we could look for after market options.. (By the way i booked my cb350).. Also yeah i agree the highness term sucks big time especially since they had to shorten it even further to H'ness.. (at this point I'm like wtf?!!).. I was desperately hoping they would bring in the Rebel 300 which would have appealed to the younger crowd a lot more.. But can't wait for such a scenario.!! Yes and lastly the ignition switch kind of scared me too..!! I was like why is it taking a lot of time?

    I also faced this 80-100 struggle today and was not able to cross 100 in 5th gear. May be this is a weight thing as I am also 100kgs. But it is very annoying.
    Overall after 1 week of ownership, I am very satisfied with this bike, the ergonomics, braking, comfort level is just awesome. Definitely a lot better than Classic 350.

    I totally agree with what you said about the name. Its too crappy. If i were you i will stick an honda badge over that red ugly badge.
    2 things i hated on this bike when i saw it first are the red badge and their colour options.
    Honda will really gonna struggle since most of the mainstream reviewers are now shifted a little towards meteor.

      @Karthikthey could hit it big with a 400-500 cc thumper, maybe with a simple shaft drive. Its some thing really not covered at all, you either get beginner bikes or 600 and up monsters. Even the "entry level" 500cc are uselessly overpowered and usually twins. IMO the hness would have been close to perfect as a 500cc thumper with shaft drive.

  • @guysmith3146
    @guysmith3146 3 года назад +3

    A lot of your niggles are as you say just a personal thing. The bike does not need a oil cooler or rev counter, it just adds to the cost of the bike also more to go wrong. Agree getting to the toolkit is quirky. Regarding corrosion all bike fasteners will suffer in wet weather. Also agree Highness name is abit of BS. Motorcycle maker mostly fit front mudguards that are form over function, fitting fuller guards would involve fitting stays as support therefore increasing costs. I,m not a fan of three way stop/run/start switches either, I have one fitted to my Yamaha Xmax. The helmet lock is just that, it applies to all bikes, straps can be cut. Thumbs up from me, a Royal Enfield C500 rider in France.

  • @madfly8082
    @madfly8082 3 года назад +1

    Quite a lot of comments are nitpicky - for example, the suggestion of a badge which says, customised for . What happens should you decide to sell the bike? The new owner has to live with that? Also, why do you need an oil cooler just because it’s the 21st century doesn’t mean the bike has to have an oil cooler. What you haven’t thought about is the added cost, complexity and weight that an oil cooler adds. Pretty confident that Honda has thought through the cooling requirements - a fact that you yourself have confirmed when you said that air cooling does the job well.

    • @madfly8082
      @madfly8082 3 года назад

      Please don’t take this the wrong way - quite a few of the design decisions are quite puzzling. The USB-C cable, the toolkit under the seat, switching the indicator and horn switch positions etc. are inexplicable.

    • @Motoccino
      @Motoccino 3 года назад +1

    When you are comparing the Bullet to the CB350 and refer to Indian nostalgia factors in cinemas, you must put it in perspective leaving aside software "implementation' factors behind. When Kinetic Honda was launched, it was iconic compared to the Chetaks/Vespas. The same engine was developed by Honda for Kinetic and the models were Kinetic Honda. !Pre liberalisation 1991- 92, there was a 6 month waiting period, however, once the partnership ended and Honda launched the Activa, the Kinetic Honda quickly disappeared due to various factors including Bajaj pulling out of the market. Currently, the Activa is leagues ahead of the competition in terms of sales while still using the same engine, (however no longer a carburetted model). Kinetic Honda tapered off in sales from a 6 month waiting period to inventory piling up at dealers.
    When you compare the timing of the launch, the timing couldnt be better for Honda given the current circumstance. And Honda are persistent in improving ride quality without the gizmos. Contrast this to the Royal Enfield's unfettered access to the Indian market with nominal changes over 6 decades. The product still is outdated and shouldn't be in the marketplace. But they have persisted selling outdated models. In one of the RE forums, (I own an Himalayan, the only product worth buying from Enfield) I had specifically mentioned that the bike could have been better and its mileage was very poor. Out came the brickbats saying what do you expect in a 350 cc bike. The community does not understand that it is not the engine capacity, but the technology used which makes RE models dated. Now that the meteor is launched, I can easily see a few points of concern. Honda has rightly targeted the biggest niche segment for RE Bullet sales - the daily city rider/commuter for those office or normal commutes.
    RE relies on Hype, see the hype for the Meteor launch for the past few years. No one knew that Honda would launch a bike in the 350 cc category and you can see immediately that it is much refined in every engine performance/ driving comfort, ease of use parameters. And believe it or not, I firmly believe that as Honda ramps up on its model offerings, targeting the different categories of RE riders, RE either improves or perishes like the Kinetic. Hype can only work in an unchallenged market, not in a market discerned by quality.

    • @Motoccino
      @Motoccino 3 года назад

      Wow, a really well articulated analysis sir! Being an 80s kid myself, fondly remember the era of the Kinetic Honda, and how badly I wanted one. I was equally fascinated with how the Chetak managed to still hold its own (despite the naysayers) against the KH. Completely agree on the Activa, one of the best 2 wheelers that I cannot imagine the rest of my life without!
      The whole point of the movies thing at the end, was to close out the trilogy with a bit of cheeky fun (given the first 2 parts I thought probably were a bit too nit-picky) and to leave the viewers a bit light from a pure "escape" sense!

      Not at all a problem. A very logical transition.
      The weight and power (depending on which specific 150CC you're coming from) is something you just need to be aware of, in the first week - a bit of acknowledgment and respect that its a bigger bike now! - is all that is needed. I went from my 98cc splendor to a Thunderbird about 13 years ago, and I specifically remember these are the 2 things I kept in mind - I am going to a heavier and a more powerful bike. With this, I was soon adjusted and then it was all fine very soon!

      @@agnathavaasibgmnocopyright1987 if you ask me personally. I would pick the cb350. But it's a personal thing I suggest you to take a test ride. The thing is that if you like to take your ride a bit fast and rev the engine you should check the honda. Yes the availability is an issue but if you can live with that it's great bike. If you are looking for a simple common bike that you can ride anywhere calmly you can pick the re.
      That's it.
      Price is evenly matched so it's a personal thing . We cannot say one it better over other. Even the himalayan is priced almost same. So thatz the thing. Personally I would ring the engine hard often but I love classics and I love a bit low end too so I would pick the honda

    Your friend Pradeep is very observant, manufacturers should hire him for his inputs, many things he pointed out wouldn't have crossed their minds. He is correct about the naming, so crappy. I mean it's a shame that honda is trying to become a RE wannabe. Hate that red badge. They've produced a great motorbike but screwed up in many places and you are only guys to bring out the real issues. All the other, especially big boys can't stop gushing over the bike, it's a farce

    agree with the "highness" guy probably some high management japanese guy thinks highness will outsell "royal" as if trying too hard or maybe its an insider joke to differentiate the cb 350 twin and 350F
    a simple CB 350 S(single) would've been great
    someone supply me a cb 350 badge and ill get that cringy thing replaced....That eye sore red on an all black bike.

    • @konstantinekalashnikov1356
      @konstantinekalashnikov1356 3 года назад +1

      I highly doubt that, Jawa's engine is tuned for more power than torque, and it's liquid cooled too, but it's gauge cluster feels dated now, and doesn't have the exhaust note like a CB350 or a METEOR, I'm not sure about it's reliability though..

    @Motovin77. As you told u find issue to reach 100 on 5 gear this is the problem with it gear as they r long and to teach 100you need to shift down bez 5 gear is useless.
    Secondly you told why they r selling it on big wings only the reason is they are doing an rnd with customers to check how there bike are on indian market like pro n con to overcome in future and then they will sell it everywhere..as told lesser the bike lesser the complain to handel..😂

      Well this was on week 1 of our ownership, when my friend Pradeep said that he could not hit 100 kmph, however same day i took my bike on the highway and i could het 100 easily and did it many many times, Pradeep is slightly on heavier side than i am, however he could do 100 kmph and more later, again these are brand new motorcycles.
      Honda and its Bigwing strategy was to keep the bigwing dealerships running by having them sell the CB350.
