    This is good information. I'm a adjuster and I can tell you. If the pipe is the cause of loss, that pipe will not be covered. If the person has a Basic policy with an exclusion for water damage. It won't be cover at all.

      Hi Janeen, I purchased home recently, and I found that there is a foundation damaged due to mold and moisture from crawlspace. I have a normal home insurance policy. Can it be covered by basic home insurance policy?

    • @janeenexplains
      @janeenexplains 2 года назад

      @@allseasonvacationhomes8999 Thanks for the question. I don’t know what you mean by having a normal home policy. Your stated damage cannot be evaluated without an inspection, having an adjuster come out and inspecting your property will give a better picture of what’s actually going on with your property and it foundation. Basic and Homeowners 8 policies are named peril policy and water is not a named peril on these polices. Unless the insured (you) have added an extra endorsement to have coverage for water on the policy. Ask yourself, “What caused the mold to develop?” and you will have a general idea of what type of outcome you will get if you decide to open a claim. Good Luck
      If you’d like a good laugh about named peril policies, this actually happened to me ruclips.net/video/D-te0M7nU_M/видео.html

      What's the definition of flood? I had my basement flooded because of rain and hail but I was the only one affected. So is that still a flood?

      @@julianagauss9898 Flood means raising water (from the ground up) from rain/hail or groundwater, rather is affects only you or your entire area.

    So I farmers homeowners insurance long story short I live in a townhouse and I live in Illinois and currently we're getting major rain and in my "basement " or main floor room there's water coming in through the window from the outside. This townhouse was built in 2018 and I think it was pour caulking job. But now I see water coming from the side of window and I believe to fix the issue is that a company has to come out and take the whole window and window track and reseal and install it. What's your opinion?

    • @RogueRisk
      @RogueRisk  2 года назад

      It's going to depend on what caused the damage and how much damage there is as 1) whether it's covered or not and 2) whether you should actually put in the claim. If it's bad installation of the window that's most likely not covered, if the issue is weather related that most likely (not guaranteed) would be covered. Farmers is an good company though so you can always try to put the claim in and see what happens.

    Hi!!!! This water damage 10k limit in Citizens covers AC leak and malfunction?
    If so, clan I file a claim if I already changed the unit?

      @adrianasandoval4923 great question. Unfortunately, to be accurate, I think you should call your agent. Citizens has very specific rules.

    So I’m having a problem with my insurance trying to deny my claim. We have water that leaked from a faucet. A watering hose faucet outside of my home into my basement. And flooded my basement. We filled a police report citing vandalism because we were on vacation and came home to this. How do I get my insurance to cover it? The adjuster stated sub surface water!

    • @janeenexplains
      @janeenexplains 2 года назад +1

      What type of policy do you have? Does your policy have an exclusion for water? Most policies not cover ground water. Some policies do not cover vandalism if the property is vacant for more than 60 days.

    I am a new homeowner. What if I don’t have homeowners policy and the water damage comes from upstairs unit, can I still recover the out of pocket related expenses form the upstairs homeowners insurance policy?

    • @RogueRisk
      @RogueRisk  2 года назад +1

      This is a great question. Yes (obviously depending on circumstances), but you are going to have to hire your own attorney to handle the claim.

    • @RogueRisk

      Great question, but you can't add coverage after a loss and get it covered. You can add coverage post the policy bind and get coverage if the loss happens afterward. Does that make sense...
