  • Water Leaks and Water Damage is the #1 type of claim in Florida. Almost every type of claim involves some form of water damage from Roof Leaks, Broken Pipes, Hurricanes, Fires, Water Leaks, and other claims.
    When should you file a claim for your Water Leak or Water Damage?
    There are really 3 answers to this question:
    1. Maybe you don't
    2. Maybe in a few days
    3. Maybe right away
    You should always contact a Public Adjuster to help assess if you have a covered claim.
    See most insurance companies do not cover GRADUAL LEAKS, wear and tear, lack of maintenance, and a few other conditions.
    ACCIDENTAL AND SUDDEN DAMAGE IS COVERED!!!
    Here are a few tips:
    - Make sure you document everything in writing notes, photos, videos
    -Its important to make temporary repairs to stop the leak or damage if you can
    -You might want to contact a remediation/restoration company if you have water damage in your house that needs to be "dried" out.
    (They will directly bill your insurance company so don't worry about out
    out of pocket costs. There will be NOTHING you have to pay)

    This is a good and informative video! Will mildew remediation caused by a leaking pipe be covered?

      All depends on how long the leak was ongoing. If recent leak then yes they should. If leak ongoing for long time probably not

    Can you please elaborate on foundation crack flood. Is there an endorsement that can be added?

    • @theclaimsquadpublicadjusters
      @theclaimsquadpublicadjusters  2 года назад

      I don't believe there is an endorsement that would cover that...it's a structural issue which isn't covered unless you can say Hurricane caused foundation issues or sinkhole type situation.
      If you in Florida you can say the last windstorm caused it and they could possibly open up coverage.
      I have a client with almost same situation and we got it covered. They didn't pay whole claim initially just a little, went to meditation didn't settle so had to file lawsuit.

    I noticed damp floor and laminate floor buckling in bedroom, should I call insurance or plumber first?

      Call Plumber so that you can fully understand problem first or maybe plumber suggest leak detection company. Sounds like some cracked pipe under the slab.

    I have an air vent at the basement that water coming out everytime is raining, we called our insurance right away and they send a guy to check it after couple of days but they find any wet walls. But after 2 years when we have dishwasher leak and when they open the flooring they found a hole on the subfloor. Can we still claim that previous problem?

      When did the dishwasher leak happened? Is the subflooring issue ( subfloor located in basement?) related to the air vent or the dishwasher?

      Hi Isaiah, if you live in Florida, you might have a wind damaged your roof situation so I would give it a shot. Get your dates correct before filing claim. Email me if you need more details.

      @@isaiahmoore2847 If the roof wasn't damaged by "wind" then its unlikely Nationwide would cover it. Did you get anything (wind) from Hurricane Ida?

    we are going thru water damage right now, adjuster is coming monday. we are renovating an upstairs bedroom. we found water damage, studs and plywood were rotting, never knew it. water was coming in behind the siding somehow.

      I would take a look at some of my recent water damage videos before meeting with the adjuster. I fear you could be putting yourself into denied claim territory.

    My insurance does not cover pipes and plumber. What can I do?

    • @theclaimsquadpublicadjusters
      @theclaimsquadpublicadjusters  2 года назад

      If you have water damage coverage that would cover the damages. You could possibly get the plumbing costs covered if there was a "tear out". Everything depends on the state you live in and your policy. If you have water damage over your deductible it would be worth fighting
