After having short hair for most of my adult life, I tried growing out my hair about 15 years ago. I looked awful! I was constantly fussing with it, constantly buying products to try to style it, constantly pushing it out of my face (I'm a social worker so I lean over to write frequently.). It was such a hassle and no one told me how terrible I looked. Then one day I simply went to a salon after work and voila, I went back to being me. Never again will I not have short hair!
It's so wonderful to see a hairdresser that s amazingly knowledgeable and gives you what you came for!!!
You inspired me to order Root Boost, Enjoy Dry wax and a new hair dryer. I am 63 and I have had a pixie most of my life, I try to grow my hair out every couple of years and I feel so frumpy with longer hair. It seems to add 10 pounds. You always look fantastic. Love your channel! ❤🌷🙏🏼
You're gonna love the new dryer (if you ordered the Zuvi Halo Dryer). I absolutely LOVE mine!! It dries my hair SO much quicker than a traditional blow dryer. Plus my Zuvi Halo Dryer has really helped my hair not have as much heat on it; however, I ALWAYS use a heat protectant spray before blow drying.

Wonderful! I think you will love how all of those products and the hair dryer work on your pixie! That frumpy feeling was exactly how I was feeling!! It's amazing how a great haircut can boost your energy and self esteem💕
I also feel frumpy when I try the grow out. I actually feel more feminine with a pixie. I'm 65 and ordered the root boost as well.
@chicagosusieq8548 Yes!! It uses wind and light ONLY!!!! NO HEAT WHATSOEVER!!! I absolutely 💯 % LOVE MINE!!! And I live in Texas. So, we have humid weather too.

As a pixie addict myself, when I watched your new video for styling the longer version, I KNEW you were going to go back to the shorter one, lol! 😂 It was like watching myself trying to make those few extra inches work with more product and more hassle and trying to convince myself I like it! That feeling when you get it cut shorter again is amazing!😄🥰

I LOVE it! I was wondering how long it was going to go before you couldn’t stand it anymore 😊. I have an asymmetrical version of this cut and keep saying “oh, I want to grow it out” then six weeks later I have completely changed my mind. It’s just so easy and stylish with this cut.

I am just like you when it comes to growing out my short hair! I try and then I ask my hair stylist to go back to my original cut. We enjoy our short hair because it's quick and easy. We all need a refresh and you look darling Sharalee. 💗

I shaved my head during the pandemic and kept it shaved till a year and a half ago when I started growing it out. It got pretty long but then I saw your hairstyle and immediately went and got it cut. I love it.

I tried to grow my pixie out. I too visited my hairdresser last week and went completely back to my super short undercut pixie. I felt exactly how you described yourself. I felt like I was back to myself. Letting it grow had a profoundly negative impact on my self esteem. I feel so much better. You look stunning!!

This is my second go-round in growing out my short pixie and have an appt next week to get this stuff cut off and go back to my comfort zone. We get so spoiled with the ease of shampooing and blowing dry the pixie - it almost falls into place on its own. With the longer growth, I found myself not knowing what the heck to do with all this hair and I felt much less stylish and sexy - and, yes, I am in my 70’s so that’s saying a lot. With your hair cut once again, it’s almost like you have regained your personality. It IS you - enjoy.

Love it I used to wear my hair in a pixie cut and loved it but grew it out to a bob since I wanted to go natural grey . Have never been completely happy in a bob hair cut on me . Might be time to go back to a pixie cut with my natural salt pepper hair 😊

I totally understand!! I went in yesterday and went much shorter again. I left a much longer bang in the front so I have a pretty edgy pixie now. And then tonight I bleached my money piece and then colored it a bright coral/pink. So fun!!! I’m ready for summer! Yours looks awesome as always! 😘

I can relate. I thought I wanted to let mine grow out a little bit, but I know when I go back this next time I’m going shorter again. It’s so much cooler for summer. You look great and most of your haircuts so anything you do will always look good.

I’ve had various pixie iterations for 30 years. I had the same problem with the base lowlight going too brassy. I tried quitting and only getting the highlight but wasn’t happy with the look of the grey. Now I apply a Demi color just on the undercut (6N) and love how this is working. Heavy highlight on crown.
No harsh regrowth and I can touch up as needed. Much better! Hope this helps someone else.

I love this, I too have been growing out my pixie for the last few months, and well I just hate it. I got so many compliments with my shorter hair, I have very fine hair and not a lot of it. Having the short pixie with plantinum highlights just elevates and adds some volume back. I think its time for me to go to the salon. I have always thought your pixie cut & color was so on point and looks absolutely beautiful on you.

Luv your cut!!! - I was convinced by friends to grow my "similar" pixie to shoulder length - I made it but HATE it - I feel so frumpy and like every other lady of a certain age. Went for a consult - stylist said he wants to gradually shorten it since I made it through the worst part -but he doesn't want to remove the length but to give it some style - don't want a wedge - I sure hope I can convince stylist to give me a good layered cut with the eventuality of back to my pixie! You are right - I don't feel like myself either. Glad your stylist listened to you - You look beautiful, confident and happy!

I am inspired , I had a pixie years ago and let it grows out. I always regretted that, and lived in a new area so wasn’t confident with local salons. Last month I found one and they did a fantastic job on color. So my next appointment I will go with the pixie again and I love the lighter colors so I will be ready for summer. My grandson graduates in May from college and my granddaughter graduates from high school in June so I will be ready with a new cut and color.! Thank you for the inspiration!
