The good bad mother is sooooo emotional kdrama! I love this so much. А mother who was forced to take care of her disabled son. A son who has forgotten how selfish he was in the past. And all this with a slight touch of humor.

Remember when she confronted Chung Ah's dad because his affection towards Eun Gyeol, she misunderstood their relationship lol.Anyway if Moving is the coolest drama, this drama is the most beautiful one. Both are the best drama in 2023 with their respective genres!!

Evil witch mistook Eun Gyol for Chung Ah's half-brother as Chung Ah's father kept taking Eun Gyol's side over the witch's, hence her statement about blood and water. She thought Eun Gyol was the "secret son" and the dad was preparing him to be the heir, in effect taking away her son's chance to inherit the company.
In short, they just jumped to conclusions without basis 😆
@@cassiedlp847 Not really. The witch's basis is the fact that Chung Ah's dad seems to be taking Eun Gyol's side too much. The only legit reason anybody would think of for the dad doing that is that Eun GYol is the illegitimate son. In some Asian cultures, even illegitimate sons can inherit the family fortune if the only legitimate children the patriarch has are daughters. That's why the witch was so against the dad having a relationship with Eun Gyol. She was afraid that her son would not inherit anything if a son, albeit illegitimate, was in the picture.

@@angusmacangus3181 I think the dad was just so brainwashed and too absorbed in his work to realize what was happening. Also, in some Asian cultures, daughters are second-class citizens so it's entirely plausible that he just took Chung Ah's existence for granted. It doesn't mean that the dad does not love Chung Ah. It just means that Chung Ah was not given much attention by the dad, with the dad focusing instead on the stepbrother as the "heir" to the fortune.

About the "hidden son", there was no hidden son. That crazy villainess thought that the reason Chung Ah's father was favoring Ha Eun-gyeol was because the boy should be his secret bastard son. That was the only explanation in her mind. She mentioned it on another episode when she confronted the Chairman, asking him if blood runs thicker than water. The funny thing was that she wasn't completely wrong, because they were indeed blood relatives, but Eun-gyeol's grandpa didn't know that.
You guys must try Reply 1988 : it's a slice of life drama , the friendship , the family and their own family struggles and love language . Romance ya it's there but for me it was about their everyone's life stories ❤do check this drama
I highly recommend Welcome to Samdal-ri. It gives the same feel of family and feel good moments with strong bond of friendship.

- “Death’s Game” - I would argue it’s one of the best recent dramas.
- A great thriller/mystery/crime drama is Beyond Evil -- I usually cannot rewatch stuff but I rewatched this a couple of times -- great storytelling where the drama holds attention with new twists after a certain twist becomes obvious.
- Another great recent drama is “My Perfect Stranger.” Quite underrated I feel.
- the first season of “The Uncanny Counter”.
- “Weak Hero Class 1” as well, which has the young actor who played Lee Chan as one of the main characters
- “Crash Course of Romance” was really great too honestly. It was a unique romcom and I personally really enjoyed it.
-some historical dramas in general for a change of pace!; there are many great ones like “Moon Lovers Scarlet Heart Ryeo “ (a mix of different genres) and “Mr. Sunshine” (great cinematography, dialogues, characters, and acting!) and there’s “Kingdom” as well (zombie + historical)
- Lastly, I’ve to recommend this just because it really surprised me with the acting of the entire cast and also it seems underrated; “Through the Darkness” - is a crime drama based on real cases (from what I know) and also has the actor who played the son Eun gyeol in this drama as supporting cast (one of his earlier dramas).

although there were so many things uncovered at the end which felt a bit unsatisfactory, on the whole this is the best slice of life drama for me 10/10 !!!
idk if you caught this detail, but when eungyeol is going through the magazine about yichan, we see the same university name that cheongah's father sent her!
that means yichan and cheongah studied in the same university and were college sweethearts

Revenant is an amazing horror K-drama, an incredible soundtrack, and acting masterclasses from some of Korea's most incredible actors. My favourite ever series. Went under the radar when it broadcasted last year.
revenant is incredible. it deserved better. i hate how it was aired at the same time as see u in my 19th life and king the land.....those two dramas are pretty shit compared to revenant which is a masterpiece

Strong Girl Bong-soon would be a great series, funny, thriller, romance its a all rounder. i would recommend it for sure
I'll leave again my recommendation for A Time Called You, on Netflix. I think a lot of people missed out on this one, but it is really good. It's also about time traveling, but leaning more to the sci-fi than to "fantasy". What I mean is that the show is more serious in that aspect, with a lot more drama, suspense, and mystery, since it also deals with a murder mystery. But don't forget your tissue box. Better safe than sorry.

I hope you watch "my mister". I can't find words to describe this masterpiece kdrama.its also won Best Drama in Baeksang art awards. The story is so good that it will hit you differently. The acting, story and cinematography are superb. Even the author Paulo coelho love this drama and multi awarded director hirokazu koreeda love this too that he cast the lead actress of the drama IU to work in his movie Broker. And also it's a fave life drama of koreans
it's been a while since a kdrama genuinely resonated with me, twinkling watermelon really brought the spark back! i really liked and enjoyed walking through it with both of your reactions! ( personally the last ep was rushed, it felt like they gave up on tying some of the loose things but that's okay i guess because the story is from ha eun gyeol's pov)

It's really good show like this one, with important issues and about a family, except not fantasy.

I'm actually glad they didn't change Yichan's future in that he still ended up deaf, coz I feel like the messaging would have been off. He was happy with his wife and sons, but he had cut off everyone else from his life and kind of lost his support system. The way they changed his (and Cheong Ah's) life by giving them back their family and friends gives a brighter, stronger message I think, which makes the series even more perfect 🥰
...one thing I'd knock off *tiny* points for this is that we don't actually get closure for Eunyu's storyline 🥲 they didn't show how her intervening with her Grandad changed her mother's outlook and life, and what happened to future Grandad, and all of that. Just tiny points for that because that should have had some significant impact, right? 😅
Anyways, my recommendations are:
If you wanna laugh - Mr. Queen. There is time travel, it's historical fiction, it has fantasy elements, AND.. it is HILARIOUS
If you wanna cry - 18 Again. Fantasy elements, modern, coming-of-age, and also drama. Similar feels to Twinkling Watermelon but from a parent's perspective
If you want action/zombies - Happiness. Zombies with a bit of a twist, action, romance, and an absolute power couple.
If you want to get mad and scream at the show you're watching - Marry My Husband. Fantasy and time travel elements, romance, and revenge (also the only recent show on my list lol)
Okay i shall leave that there for now. Looking forward to the next series! ❤
Weak hero is a great show that has the “dad” in twinkling watermelon as one of the main characters and season two is coming out this year with “the brother that isn’t deaf “ also as one of the main characters, Summaries. Yeon Shi-eun is a model student, who ranks at the top at his school. Physically, he appears like a weak boy, but, by using his smarts, tools, and psychology, he fights against violence that takes place inside and outside of his school. It’s also a short show with only 8 episodes
And I recommend duty after school as well Duty After School tells the story of the seniors students at Seongjin High as they are conscripted to fight against the attack of a group of mysterious creatures that have covered the sky. It’s so interesting it will keep you hooked
If ur looking for comedy tho I recommend mr queen I’ve recently finished it and couldn’t stop laughing at it idk why I love it so much it’s so funny

I would recommend you guys to watch "Death's Game". First, my first impression to the title was a thriller and misterious drama. But if you guys watch it, it such a beautiful drama. The story is wonderful and has many moral values. Also, don't forget to bring tissue when you watch it hahaha

I'll add my vote to Flowers of Evil. Really "underrated drama" that deserves more flowers (pun intended). I also think it's right down your alley, mixing mystery, thriller and a really strong romance (the chemistry between the two actors is on-point).
Or "Come and Hug Me", which feels a bit similar to Flowers of Evil.
"The Worst of Evil" a completely different genre
I've been wondering how Yi Chan became deaf in both ears because deafness is usually caused by direct trauma to the ear. In cases like that, it's usually only one ear that's affected. The most logical explanation I could come up with is that Yi Chan's fall from the hit-and-run caused a blood clot that blocked blood going to the area of the brain that regulated hearing, hence the complete deafness that resulted.
As for Yi Chan and Chung Ah getting together, if you recall, Chung Ah's dad told his solicitor (I'm sure Achara knows what I mean by this) to send Yi Chan to the same school Chung Ah was going to.

If you do want something nice, healing, and heartfelt, i highly recommend “18 Again”, “Hospital Playlist”, “Prison Playbook” and “Reply 1988”. Perfect cast, amazing acting, incredible soundtrack, comforting & beautiful story with some unexpected plots, and a good sense of humor. For me personally, “18 Again” is the most underrated masterpiece out there that never gets enough praise it’s deserved.
Plus, I also do recommend “The Good Bad Mother”, “Marry My Husband” and “The Uncanny Counter” if you guys want some more thrills and drama.
+ I said it, but I’ll say it again: “18 Again” is PEAK. 😊
I recommend Flower of Evil, there are lots of plot twists that you will like in this drama too
D.P. (Deserter Pursuit) Is a great series that I haven't seen many people mention yet. It's about bullying in the South Korean Military and desertions. Very underrated and powerful plus pretty easy to watch as it is only 2 seasons of 6 episodes each.
Guys please watch under the queen umbrella next that show is so so so good one of the best series ever

25:21 There was no hidden son. Remember when the evil step mom was questioning the Dad about why he was indulging EunGyeol? She said, It’s not because your blood is thicker than water, is it? She was implying that he was being nice to the kid because he might be his illegitimate biological son. That’s the only reason she could think of that he would keep him around, and that’s the story she went with in her mind, enough to rage bait her own son into a reckless murder attempt, essentially.
I really love the series Angel's Last Mission: Love and I think it's so underrated.
There wasn't a secret son; the stepmother said that because it seemed like the plausible reason why a random boy was instantly brought into the house and the chairman supported and listened to him.

this drama is my fav in 2023 and one of best drama all the time for me. I am so thankful to the author who has written a story as amazing and neat as this. I know this is a fantasy genre, but the message conveyed and the very touching storyline really make this drama one of the best I have ever seen. This drama gave a lot of messages and made me realize that I don't fully know about my parents, I only know 2/3 of their lives without knowing how they faced all the difficulties when they were young 🤧 uuu wanna hug my parents and saying thank you so much for everything.
for the next journey, i highly recommended "HOMETOWN CHACHACHA" for relaxing and healing your life. The story it's simple but give you a warm feeling.
