I am a Russian native speaker and quasi Russian and I can say that Dmitry Trenin is absolutely right, politically interested people in Russia (don't know what the actual politicians really think) quite often underestimate India and often comically overestimate Russia. I mean all Russians know that Russia isn't anything like the Soviet Union, but they just don't want to let go of an imperialistic mentalitiy, often exactly to make up with mentality the missing reality.

That is not just true of Russia. Its true of almost all countries. For instance look at UK, the old Britain still thinks that it is the ruler of the world. Why else would they so confidently walk through Brexit when almost all their produce consumed locally is imported from mainland Europe.
I also think that India-Russia cooperation must extend between peoples of the two countries. Coz the new generation that is currently growing up in India might not view Russia as favorably as we did, vis-a-vis United States say.

You sound like if China would care if the USA loves it. India had "the love" of UK and USA for hundreds of years, and is still a "developing" country (not saying 3rd world). The reliance on foreign Investment is still very real in certain industrial branches. Yes, India might have the Manpower, but they don't seem very organized with it, unless it is about Military issues. Every caste boils its own little stew, and drives away foreign companies by taxing them retrospectively. Nokia comes to mind

Russia must accept India's rise as a global power, no longer a 3rd world nation. . .
I couldn't help but want to laugh. This sentence can be said to be very Indian, and it makes people feel a kind of Indian-style inexplicable self-confidence.
On the contrary, China has always emphasized that it is a third world country. The Chinese government has positioned China and the United States as the largest developing countries and
the largest developed countries. However, the United States and the Western world are increasingly disapproving of China’s self-positioning statement. In recent years, the United States has repeatedly questioned China’s status as a developing country in the WTO, and has repeatedly accused China of “already an economically large and powerful country, but it is considered a
    developing country by the WTO.
From this, you can see the biggest difference between India and China. Indians are good at talking big and empty words, and Chinese are better at doing everything in obscurity.

On December 1, 32 countries cancelled the GSP treatment for trade with China, and China will no longer enjoy the preferential treatment of GSP tariffs from these countries. At the same time, starting from December 1 this year, the Chinese customs authorities will no longer issue generalized preferential systems and certificates of origin for goods shipped to different EU member states.
The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development passed a resolution on the establishment of a Generalized System of Preferences in 1968 to promote the export trade of developing countries and promote their economic growth. At present, all developing countries in the third world benefit from the EU's Generalized System of Preferences. From 2012 to 2019, Ukraine, Canada, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, the European Union, Turkey, Japan, etc. have successively cancelled the preferential treatment of GSP tariffs granted to Chinese exports. In 2021, the Eurasian Economic Union announced the abolition of preferential tariff treatment for China's Generalized System of Preferences.
This has shown that developed countries have begun to declare in concrete actions that they do not recognize China as a developing country, and therefore, China cannot enjoy the preferential treatment of GSP tariffs.

I'm originally Turkish I like to watch ThePrint mainly for their brilliant geopolitical analyses. My advice to Indians: stop copying America, I used to give this advice to an Indian friend in uni, who always used to talk about things in India mirrored from the US, like IIT (mirrored from MIT), India's Silicon Valley! why on earth you'd need an exact name copied from America? if you want tech, just do it in your own original way, after all isn't innovation about being "innovative" and creating something "new" that no one yet has created? I've seen this mentality generally with Indian folks, I also see this in Indian movies. Folks, you need to be original, look into your history and culture and get inspirations from your own culture rather than copying Americans. Btw, I suggest buying weapons from Turkey, Turks honor their words. I know you hate Pakistan, but you shouldn't, Pakistanis are ethically same people as you - well mostly at least, you should resolve territorial issues with them and be friends and allies rather than enemies.
