He's able to navigate the political waters with finesse and provides India with the space and agility it needs to not get itself tangled in the political web the west wants it to be in.
    I love the fact that he understands how the west love to put you in a certain narrative as if that is the only reality, he provides a masterclass on how to navigate politics on the world stage especially when dealing with the west

    I am very keen to see India take on the mantle of being the Swiss in the East, completely non-aligned and contributing to the global good by being the middle way or the place where opposing powers meet and talk. While it aspires to be a great power, there is no reason why India can be neutral and be a great power too. To keep peace, you need power. To be the centre, you need economics. To be moral, you need democracy.
    India has some of these in bits and pieces, as long as it does not usurp existing power centers, there is no need to oppose India. Had China been more open and democratic... goodness, it would have been Asia's nerve center. India can maintain that moral standing if it can retain it's democratic institutions.
    I still feel India should be clubbed with China, not the US, as China's purchasing parity is about 10K a year, it's capacity is for more low-end manufacturing, it does not hold any lead in major technologies, imports jet engines and other technologies (Russia being a source), it is heavily export driven, as it does not have the wealth to drive growth through consumption, it lacks that edge that the US has as a financial center. But India needs to get it's act together and start behaving like a modern power. Leave all this Pakistani obsession behind, discard all this Hindu identity nonsense and embrace science and technology. It also has to properly learn from, but discard, this disdain for the colonial past. Yes, it holds important lessons on exploitation - but it's the past. No major power grows if it keeps looking at it's past. India can't appear to be confused, especially on matters of identity!
    But it needs to progress. And no major modern country has progressed without embracing cold science and engineering with often exploitative commerce (just a reality). China is looking at it's socialist past and is stagnating... India can't make the same mistakes... of looking at their past. Progressive values is the way forward.

    • @xnz6525
      @xnz6525 3 месяца назад

      If only the US thought like you, they would not have imposed a 102.5% tariff on China.
      You Westerners keep fooling India, inciting anti-China sentiment among Indians, and blocking their eyes from seeing themselves and the world clearly. How hypocritical and heartless.

    • @seshanm54
      @seshanm54 3 месяца назад

      Hindu identity is not nonsense. Nor is it incompatible with science & technology.
      Most of the great atomic & quantum physicists, acknowledge the impact the Vedas and Indian ideas on the beginnings & nature of the Universe, the concept of time , not to mention the invention of Zero has had on them.
      You may not know, but Sanathana Dharma (The Eternal Truth) which you call Hinduism, is not a religion in the Abrahamaic sense but a WAY OF LIFE.
      We essentially believe that all of us and all the things we touch and see and experience are all part of the ONE SUPREME CONSCIOUSNESS.
      The thousands of individual Gods whom we worship, are not Gods in the Abrahamaic sense. These are better called deities, which represent the finest of some particular attributes, with a story woven round each.
      This personalisation of desirable attributes, whether strength( Hanuman) or education (Godess Saraswati) or wealth (Godess Laxmi) or the concept of Creation, Preservation & Destruction embodied in Lord Shiva is for those, not quite capable of understanding the rarified philosophical heights of Sanathana Dharma or who for some reasons desire a point of focus.
      Unlike other religions, there is little friction among native Indic faiths like Sanathana Dharma, Buddhism, Sikhism or Jainism.
      It is quite normal for a Hindu to pray in a Sikh Gurudwara or a Buddhist or Jain temple.
      Nor is there any friction in the worship of different deities. In a single family, the members may worship the same or different deities according to their preference, without the shadow of any conflict.
      This comes from the essential realisation, which even the most illiterate Hindu possesses, if you ask him about differences.
      " Sab tho ek hi hai Saab" he'll say. EVERYTHING IS ONE, SIR.
      Sanathana Dharma is sweeping in the breadth of the philosophies it embraces, including atheism.
      This explains it's great tolerance & acceptance of the beliefs of others and the ability of its people to easily adjust and assimilate other cultures.
      That openness also sees no contradiction or distinction in the worship of deities and the highest understanding and pursuit of science & technology.

      Broadly agree. Looks you are from the west. Just two points:
      1. On Pak obsession, we also feel that west has a Russian obsession problem.
      2. Don't think West has abondoned its civilizational identity. So why expect it from India?

    • @anantsaini
      @anantsaini 3 месяца назад +1

      Just to add two things -
      *1* - India without its Hindu identity and culture is no longer India (Israel & India two nations with Religious Identity)
      *2* - You have underestimated China, they are far superior in deep tech now a days - make their own airplanes, AI, EVs, Chip Designs, Smartphones, Nuclear Weapons, Space Technologies, Name it they have it! Also, just wait for another 10 years - China's Technological strides are going to change the world.

    to tell you some basic facts for you Indian nationalists: China recaptured the southern Tibet region by force in 1962. However, China retreated to its pre-war position and waited for negotiations with India. because we are both poor brothers . Guess what, India occupied the southern Tibet region vacated by China and immigrated on a large scale. most of the Indians in this region are not indigenous now. China want to develop the economy and improve people's lives,but India is so short-sighted that it thinks it has taken advantage and is worried every day that China will take back what does not belong to it.
    For India, economic development is the most important thing. now day the driving force of the economy comes more from China than from the West,India need coperation from China. Losing China's huge development momentum for some of its own advantages is not worth the loss. Indian politicians only play nationalism, do not speak the facts, and constantly flatter nationalists with a tough attitude. This is a despicable act of replacing the interests of India as a country with their own political interests. Jaishankar is such one. I hope India will wake up in time, abandon those despicable politicians who hinder the development of China-India relations, and move towards common prosperity.

      Bangladeshis has yet to comprehend on what hit them. They are thinking that the student movement has removed Sheikh Hasina, but it was a planned regime change by US and they have successfully installed their puppet government in Bangladesh. Realizing this both China & India is already started working together which is evident in recent disengagement between India & China. And I hope they won't end up like Pakistan. Releasing terrorists & de-notifying Jamat-e-Islam are not good signs. Anti-India sentiments are carefully inculcated in the society using fundamentalist & radicals. So, beware of what's happening to Bangladesh.
