I’m a single mom and need to take care of my household. I was waiting for 4th of July sales to buy a new washer machine until I watched your video. It’s amazing how you helped me and I’m sure others in fixing their washing machines. I appreciate you and this video very much I’m thankful that there’s people like you that post!
My Maytag started leaking today. Started doing my research (watching various YT vids to learn what to look for) and found most are not worth my time. Yours is thorough and informative. Great job. Thanks much.
Thanks man. I'm a Hands-On jack of all trades guy and I usually learn on the job through watching videos like this google research and hands on trial and error (without much error). thanks to you I can now fix the leak in a washer that has already leaked through the floor to the ceiling of downstairs. One more thing I can do to put on my list thanks again
Thank you for the informative video. I know exactly what's wrong with my washer. I will get the repair man out here ASAP to fix my machine, without getting ripped off. Thank You!
One of the best DIY videos on YT. Great detailed explanation and Academy Award for the camera man. You showed clear close ups at just the right angles. You da man.
Very thorough and informative. I’ll be checking out my leaky washer and see what the issue is. This video gave me the confidence to do this. Thank you!
Woke up with a sore back not excited to crawl underneath the washer. Then I saw this video and it was so much easier to access the pump! The existing pump looked decent, so I’m still not positive that was the issue. Replaced it but haven’t run a load yet. Fingers crossed it works.
Hey Pal, Thanks so much for the great video. I had watched several and they were good but I didn't have a clue till I watched yours. I had it the washer apart and the pump off in about five minutes. I thought the pump looked good. I filled it with water and it leaked like a sieve. Thanks again!
@@WasherDryerMoney This is an excellent video. I’m wondering why my washer drains water to the floor during the wash cycle when draining but not during the rinse cycle? Seems like it would drain to the floor on both cycles. Is that telling me something else is wrong? And it doesn’t do it all the time so I’m not sure. Thank you a ton!!
Nice video bro i have a warpool that has the stop button and it recently started to leak alot of water towards the end when its almost done washing ill check the water pump thank you for the video
Awesome video, thank you!. My washer leaks only during the spin cycle from the left corner (As you face the washer). I have not taken it apart, but wanted to know if this is a symptom of something not worth repairing. Thanks so much!
I could use your help. This is unrelated to this video. I have a Kenmore 90 Series washer. After completing one load of wash I started a second. The tub filled with water, agitated then stopped. No matter what setting I put it in nothing happens. No humming, nothing. Another Kenmore 90 series washer was given to me. It agitated but no spin. After checking it out it was only a loose wire. Plugged it in & it went through the cycles. Put a load of cloths in & the only cycle that will now work is the spin. Any help on either one of these would be appreciated. I did notice same series but different timer control model. I did check the lid switch, both are good. I even jumped them to make sure. This video is very well done, full view & 👍 Stay safe, Joe Z
The second washe mentioned… The first thing a Washer will do is call for water from the water valves. If it does nothing, it could be that the cold water valve has gone bad. That would make sense of why you can progress it to spin and it will spin out. You are telling it not to call for water anymore and go to spin cycle. Quick way to check is turn it to hot water. It will still stop halfway through because the rinse cycle is with cold water, but… if it starts filling with water, you know the cold water valve is out. The first one you mention does sound like a lid switch if it is not draining the water. Since you said you checked the lid switch the other less common thing it could be is the clutch. It will be obvious if it’s the clutch it will drain the water out and still make noise but not spin.
Thank you for this information. I will try the second one with the hot water. The first one does not hum or make any noise. I just installed a new timer and just as before it will fill with water then nothing.@@WasherDryerMoney
Great Info and guidance your a blessing , my washer is exactly like the one in your video ,I've had it for 21yrs, it leaked once a year ago the bottom hose on the pump split, now there's a little water on the floor but it's spinning slow and after it stops cloths are still soaked and water comes back in the bottom ,I ran the rinse spin over 3 times ,same results also seems like I smell slight burning odor electrical ,no smoke, pump? coupler? switch? all 3? lol! I'd appreciate your help thanks, God bless .
I just went from underneath, pulled the drain pump, but there is not a noticeable problem , no cracks. Could it still be the leaking issue? It does spin, but not smoothly.
Had a lot of water coming out from underneath during rinse cycle , just a little out of the drain hose. now, no water is coming out of the tub. I'm thinking a clog ??
My whilpool started to leak after we moved it to a different house. It doesn't appear to be from the rear of the machine so I'm guessing it's from the bottom.
Mine is leaking only as it is filling. After it's filled no more water. When spins and goes in rinse mode, it fills with water and leaks again. After full its rinses and does not leak? Your opinion?
Do you have an example video of what do to when it is corroded behind the water pump? I tried pulling mine off and it won’t come off so I looked with a flashlight and it’s extremely rusted and nasty back there.
I have heard that happened before. Usually you’ll have to break a plastic water pump with a hammer and replace it. Just be careful not to hurt yourself or hurt the motor. Go slow and keep cracking it to pieces until it comes all the way off. a new water pump it’s not that expensive for this type of machine usually less than 20 bucks. Sometimes the shaft that is rusted and swollen you will have to take a piece of sandpaper and clean it up before the new pump will easily go on.
Mines almost like that, my hose has a big ass whole in it, the water was pouring out. It's the small hose that fills up tub, what is it called, I need that hose. It's not the drain hose..
If it stops before the spin cycle that usually means the lid switch has gone out. When the lid switch goes out it thinks the door is open and will not begin spin cycle until the door is closed.
I have an older Whirpool top loader. Water is leaking from the bottom. My model has a panel in the rear and I think the pump and hoses are right there in the back not in the front like this machine. I tipped in on its front. I only felt water on the middle of the drum. Seemed dry around the hoses? Gotta figure out where this leak is?
@@WasherDryerMoney Thank you! That's exactly what it was, your video helped me get it apart and I found a baby sock in the water pump, all back together and works like new! Thank you!

Turn Weird place to be leaking. Some washers have a Pleach dispenser that has a hose that runs into the tub. That hose could’ve come loose. If you can get the case off the Washer it should be pretty easy to determine where the leak is coming from.
The pump is all plastic. after while plastic on plastic will just wear out. When it does, it just starts dripping and then pouring if you let it go for too long. The only other thing that can leak on these type of washers is the tub seal, which is pretty rare. Most of the time it’s the water pump.

Could you tell me why my washer could be leaking from the back of the tub?
If it’s an older, direct drive washer, it may be the tub seal.
Will replacing the pump work if my estate is stopping before the spin cycle?
If it stops before the spin cycle that usually means the lid switch has gone out. When the lid switch goes out it thinks the door is open and will not begin spin cycle until the door is closed.
