When I started hearing stories about the admiral in Taiga... I thought I was going to fight a camp of veteran soldiers and their leader trying to save their town from Mutant infestation. But all I saw was a broken man.
Loved that scene and the game the character of the admiral so hopeless and lost and the way he slept and mumbled in his sleep if you let him live. true masterpiece.
Metro series one of the best series i've played in my life, i felt so many emotions while playing it. When you leave the admiral's house i cried, i felt so bad for him I wanted him to come with us on the aurora
The admiral killed his friends out of fear of them abandoning him. Whilst it is true that he had noble intentions at first, he is in the state he is now due to his sheer disregard for the value of human life. He was fine with breaking himself, but he forgot that this didn't give him the right to break others.
The Admiral's interaction/Lumberhouse is basically the calm before the storm. Won't spoil anything for people which somehow got here, but if you played the game, you know what I'm talking about
Reminds me of amnesia the dark descent Right after probably the scariest level in any video game you get a nice area to relax with soothing music but then later the safe area starts to become all gloomy filled with flesh
Dam this specific area really hit different. Especially after exploring most of the area expecting to be all alone only to find the admiral, in his sad drunken state. I remember looking back as I was leaving, going out on my own again and leaving him here.
this one and the song what they play on the train with stephan (exodus blues) made me learn basics of guitar and now i can play these two plus metro menu 2033 menu song :)))

Which is why it is great overall because the game goes from calm moments to hectic and back so you can enjoy both and it just feels right.
