Standing at the back of the train smoking a cigarette, listen to the sound of the train while watching the landscape changing as you go,one of the best moment in Exodus.
The day rolled on by, just like the train- Artyom thought about what the world may have been like before. He remembered the time his parents took him through the Moscow Market, he was only 3. Memories flooded back to him and then he came around remembering that this exodus was the breaking point in this harsh, new world. 2013 was the year this all started, and he didn't know when or where it would end- but he knew one thing for sure, people needed him to show them them the last light, since 2033- he had lead them onward, in a post-apocalyptic exodus. The Metro wasn't the only place left for them.
The first time I saw anything about Metro was in a RUclips ad for the third and last game, Metro Exodus, when it came out in 2019. Shortly after I found out about the existence of the books and then I had the opportunity to play the latter, one of the best video games I've never played. That was almost three years ago. Now, I've read the trilogy, completed all the games, and still can't get that tune out of my head every time I pick up my guitar. Impressive books, games and, of course, their music.

While playing the game I just felt involved and in depth with the story all the time, I could truely feel that the Devs put thought and work into the game and it was so good to the point I sat through each individual line of dialogue, from the inbetween spots where you got to lay back on the train to having a chat with the admiral over tea in the swamps, and I never got tired of it, I genuinely felt upset when it was over because I knew I would never experience that feel I got from playing metro for the first time, I wish I could get the chance to experience that for the first time again. And this music just feels like nostalgia even though this only happened months ago, truely the best single player experience out there.
2012, Russia. You're sitting in a box room for the train, heading out of the west and into the east. Suddenly, a while flash blinded your eyes, but not permanently. The white fades enough to show a whole other world. Two men, in some militant type clothing playing their guitars, a woman next to one of the men. You take a look out of the window It's dead trees and destroyed buildings, it looks like hell at first glance, but staring long enough, you find a sort of peaceful quiet to it from the train. The vision fades, you're back in your world. You want to go back, for your human curiosity wants to know more about the world and those two men. But something tells you, that you might know soon enough.
When I first heard this, I didn't recognize the train sound. I associated with rain through the trees on a camping tarp. It reminded me of a happy time I had with friends while camping in the woods and we used a tarp to protect ourselves from pouring rain while playing a guitar. Good times.

I love the post apocalyptic genre, mostly for moments like this. In a world where we can push a button and get food delivered to us... We take everything for granted. Less is truly more.
well said. Life really feels meaningless in the safe and simple lives we all live. Life is so much more meaningfull when there is struggle. Something as simple as making a cup of hot coco can be a lifelong experience when you have to make the campfire that heats it up. A difficult life may not be as painfully comfortable as how most of us live, but it at least gives the act of living a true meaning, and it gives a newfound appreciation for all thr little things.
I loved this game but it feels like they missed out on some awesome scenarios to display the full extent of Colonel Miller's badass. How many of you guys forgot he didn't have legs? The dude was fighting with prosthetics the whole time but it's never really brought up or relevant beyond the start of the game when it's mentioned. I personally would've enjoyed the surprised expression of the cannibals when they'd try chopping them off, only for the cleaver to get stuck and then this grizzled veteran beating the shit out of them or a moment in the last stretch of the game when a leach eats one of his prosthetics but he keeps fighting and Artym helps him get it back on after the dust has settled. They did a great job of bringing the team to life but this is just one aspect I felt they could've improved on.
Wow. You are right. Metro has such an immersion and excellent storytelling imo, that i completely forgot Colonel Miller has prosthetics. Thank you for that. I guess there is one thing they could have improved on :D
Well, at first I thought that you're talking about the team itself, and I was like but dude, the team is made of soldiers, and soldiers do not question any of the its leader words. But then I got to the rest of the comment where you're talking about the cannibals thing and yeah, it could work. For me there are only two issues with Metro Exodus. Bugs, game still have some bugs, that are not fixed with any patches. The other thing is how Artyom is super cool and also is not... I mean (SPOILER ALERT) Artyom fought with every boss in the game and basically he killed only like two of them (bear and tsar fish). Duke is so fascinated by the stories of how amazing Artyom is but the game shows that he ain't as cool and unstopable. Anna killed Baron, Anna killed the doctor, Gorilla got killed by the Ice. It's ok, but it kinda cuts Artyom's balls off. We as Artyom are rushing through the whole country and we are the most badass person outthere but when it comes to the bosses our ass needs to be saved by our wife... it kinda sucks. I feel like the team got no space for itself in the story, Miller who commands, Artyom doing everything, and Anna saves Artyom's ass. I would love to see how the rest of the crew are special forces soldiers because they are in that world. Anyway, I love this game and the books. First I read Glukhovsky trilogy, then I played the games and I personally prefer Exodus story than the Metro 2035 story. @@keran6019 Artyom is still a legend within the order though a lot of that legend was built on the reputation he made for himself in the first game which characterized him in the canonical ending as being much more bloodthirsty. The game Metro Exodus is a great game even though the random scares of the creatures that appear in the game. I get scared because I play until 1 in the morning, it’s such a good game. I love how we have to be in a train. The watchmen are scary when you don’t see them coming. My favorite mission so far is when you have to get the teddy bear for the girl.
I still listen to this song to this date, and it's always given me a sense of calmness. Metro Exodus was truly one of the best games I've ever played in my life, and the continuous sound of train tracks is reminiscent of the ongoing cycle of life.

This jam gets me the feeling of "how the things could've gone" instead of how they actually went, which is kinda funny considering the studio behind metro was a break away from the studio being STALKER, just imagine a parallel universe where the wages issue was sorted out and the two (in our timeline) separate studios instead of one going on hiatus and the other delivering, coming together and making THE ULTIMATE series, like damn ffs I absolutely love both series but I can't get rid of that part of my soul that kinda wishes they never split up and made a masterpiece combing the best of the two worlds, and yes I knoe bot Stalker and Metro are based on two different books (and a film in case of stalker) but I'll be damn lying if I wasn't hoping for both teams coming together to make at least one spin off game combining the two world... Guess that's just wishful thinking but just imagine, imagine what "could've been" heh... Anyway sorry for the drunken stalker ramble, go on about your day, have a good one lads, and whether you're in the zone, or in the irradiated streets of Moscow, the swamps of taiga, the desert of baikal or wherever, you're still a stalker, so tread carefully and may you survive another day

Well we can gladly say he found much more..
Thank you for posting this. This is an amazing song.
This is an amazing game ❤ best game ever for me
ahh, such fond memories of this game...... "GET THA BEECH"
This music is so beautiful, it's been over 4 years since I've shed a tear for anything, and the best part is that they weren't tears of sadness.
Thank you Stepan!
metrom exodus ia the best game I have ever played and since i am gaming ever less i think it would be for as long as I live.
especially the story.
This is one of the most beautiful an Epic music in game, I have no words to express how deeply it goes in to my soul,❤❤❤something similar happened in Warframe , best quest ever, it took my heart instantly, this is who you are …
Driving out of novisibirsk with this in the background nearly Kade me cry. Perfect ending to an epic saga.
Thank you
You're welcome!
i was on a road trip listening to this, and the train sounds made it feel like i was kn a train listening to this, i love it
I imagine birds are easier to handle than demons.
No game has ever came close to affecting me in thinking and involving me in the world as the Metro Games
The game only keeps getting better
beautiful, playing along and improv on bass. lots of fun
This song is amazing! It’s perfectly captures the atmosphere of the group at the time, just as they begin to see hope again - more tragedy…
this song brings tears to my eyes tears of joy that is
This is truly a beautiful piece. The train sound makes this more relaxing, and I love it.
I still listen to this song to this date, and it's always given me a sense of calmness. Metro Exodus was truly one of the best games I've ever played in my life, and the continuous sound of train tracks is reminiscent of the ongoing cycle of life.
This version definitely MUST be in the next game :3
makes me hyped for stalker 2 guitar tracks
y e s
Honestly, they may just be remastered versions of the tracks in older games. Not that I’m complaining though, I loved those.
Husband sent me this now I'm listening to it while eating, I don't even play the game but the song's on repeat now

Danke.
I just beat it and got the "good ending". I always stopped playing when I get to the dam because I was afraid of what the endings would be....I balled my eyes out.
I really like this tone. Metro best in the world.
They used one song style for like 5 different songs but made them all sound so apart from one another and made them have amazing contrasts
This Is A Very Lovely Song. He Is A Legend In My Eyes He's Been Through Hell To Make It To Where The Metro Can See The Sky Again He Is A True Spartan And Legend.
it was at that moment with the crazy admiral on the swamps when i played this and realized i really loved this game and this whole trilogy, because i was so immersed in the story and that world that i just sat there for like 20 minutes listening to a fake crazy old man speaking with corpses
idk but i like every metro game songs and i play every time again... and crying at bad ending.. or guitar songs
By far one of the best games I've played, it sits on my top ten games in at number one just beating red dead redemption 2 because of the immersion the game adds.
I prefer this way of immersion much more. Basic shit like looting shouldnt take as obnoxiously long as it does in Red Dead.
This jam gets me the feeling of "how the things could've gone" instead of how they actually went,
which is kinda funny considering the studio behind metro was a break away from the studio being STALKER, just imagine a parallel universe where the wages issue was sorted out and the two (in our timeline) separate studios instead of one going on hiatus and the other delivering, coming together and making THE ULTIMATE series,
like damn ffs I absolutely love both series but I can't get rid of that part of my soul that kinda wishes they never split up and made a masterpiece combing the best of the two worlds,
and yes I knoe bot Stalker and Metro are based on two different books (and a film in case of stalker) but I'll be damn lying if I wasn't hoping for both teams coming together to make at least one spin off game combining the two world...
Guess that's just wishful thinking but just imagine, imagine what "could've been"
heh... Anyway sorry for the drunken stalker ramble,
go on about your day, have a good one lads, and whether you're in the zone, or in the irradiated streets of Moscow, the swamps of taiga, the desert of baikal or wherever, you're still a stalker, so tread carefully and may you survive another day

I was wondering if it was a cover of an actual song. Doesn't matter it is so heartfelt and makes me fall in love with this game
It's technically a cover of the Main theme from Metro 2033, you'll understand the similarities immediately.
Awesome game ever, best soundtrack and beautiful atmosphere.. On PS5 game is really much beautiful and detailed!
I waa going to choose one of 2 games, watch dogs 2 or Metro exodus, i choosed that game, first off i was regretting it, because the beginning was a bit boring, but after a while this game is so fucking amazing, i now never will regret buying metro instead of watch dogs.
should have played the first two metro series then youll get it
@Edryl Pak i did, i just forgot about then years later, and then just "Oh, new metro.", and decided to buy it because Epic games discount
"What a beautiful world we have destroyed."
So good
the fact you can hear the train in the background sounds like you are inside aurora
This song played in the background when miller finds khlebnikov holding the map, now that would heavily impactful while miller is conversing with khlebnikov
If only girls now and days we're as loving, and loyal as Anna Miller.
find them, friend. it will be as hard as the journey but it is worth it.
You need to be as masculine as Artyom to deserve a girl like Anna 😂
i'm adicted to this and i'm totaly ok with it
Having played all of these games back to back on Ranger HC, I can confidently say this is one of my favorite series of all time. This game in particular, has the most unforgiving spike in difficulty. That makes the scene with Stefan and Katya all the more rewarding. You’ve stepped out of hell, if only for a moment.
Thank you, Stepan.
thanks you bud, ive just finished the game, i got the bad end, i cry, this cheers me up, or not maybe ._.
Can you make a ten hour virsion of this
If you're on desktop, you can right click the video as it's playing and select the "loop" option.

The Metro games are inspiring me to learn a little about the russian language.
I even switch the voices to Russian to feel a little more immersed in being in Russia.
The people making the Metro games are amazing and I hope they continue to keep being amazing until they bring closure to Artyom's story.
