I'm already in the Kobalt platform and have been very happy with the tools and the batteries. What impresses me the most is you take the time to review their tools as well. In my opinion they are underated in the industry. My only concern with buying any more Kobalt power tools now is Lowe's is carrying Flex and Skil. Both also made by Chervon. As for Lowe's honoring their warranty I had to replace a polisher this year and walked into the store with my tool and digital reciept and it was replaced. No problem no hassle. Thanks for the review.
Late view and comment here. My 30 plus tear old P/C 3X21 electric sander still works and works well. LOUD as Heck, so ear plugs a must. Really good dust collection. Bosch and Makita made great sanders back in the day, notably the 4 X 21/24 Bosch models. The Makita’s would run forever. Decent dust collection, but Tim makes a great point here as a lot of them are far from perfect. Awesome guy and Channel! Keep learning those teenagers! 👍🤝🇺🇸😃
Glad to see this tool reviewed, but this is certainly one tool you shouldn’t be using a compact 2.0ah battery on. I would expect a huge improvement with the 4.0 and especially the 4.0 XTR battery. Glad to see you toss one on later. With any high-draw tool like this or a circular saw, the amp hours make a difference. Thanks guys.
I think that belt sander is on the lowes battery kit promo where you get the 2 & 4 w/ charger and they throw that tool in for free. Total of $129. If you are getting into Kobalt that's a pretty good deal. Not sure if deal is active at the moment.
I didn't think this belt sander was included on that deal, but maybe it was. I try not to really advertise the "deals" too much, because they come and go. This video will remain valid for 2 or 3 years. But thanks for mentioning it. Thanks for watching.
Looks reasonably good. I have some interest in picking up Kobalt and this isn’t a bad candidate to get me to jump on board. Also with Kobalt being owned by Chervon just like Flex...I’d be surprised if Flex doesn’t come out with an upgraded version of this as well. None of the “Big 3” have this yet for some reason. They better watch out.
As always I forget something, but hey, extra comments help the ‘Al Gore rhythms!’ 😀 This sander looks to be Ok for the DIY’r and occasional use scenario, but I’m not sure how it would hold up? Fully agree on the half speed detents. Glad You showed the difference between the batteries. I would like your opinion on the cordless Ridgid belt sander? I looked and tried to find your review on the Ridgid sander. Not sure You did one? I’m looking at getting one, just not sure which is the best.
What will you be sealing the wood with id love to see there finished product.. happy to see you teaching young men and wemon how to do wood working thanks 😊 👍
15 years ago I bought a porter cable 371 sander which isn't made anymore. It looks like an armadillo. I used it and decided I didn't like it. It sat unused for 10 years. I started using it about 5 years ago and decided it is the best sander ever for a cabinet/millwork installer. It's light weight and can be easily held with one hand using the forward handle. I can hold down the material with one hand and sand with the other. Being that many parts for it are no longer available I'm keeping an eye out for a replacement. My question would be can you hold it with one hand using the forward handle. Imagine sanding the edge of a counter top or piece of wall base that is hanging over a work bench. I've got 2 other small sanders but the forward handles are short and thick, not the best for one-handed sanding.
Can you please Review the craftsman cmcf820 speed one 0-1,300 speed two 0-2,600 speed three 0-2,900 kit with the tool with 2 2AH battery and rapid charger is 169
Purchased this just under a year ago and had problems with it since day one. The belt adjustment knob would not keep the sanding belt aligned and it would just keep traveling inward cutting into the frame. I took it knob off and it just fell into pieces. I was able to jerry rig it long enough to get the job done but then tried to take it back to Lows to exchange it but it was past the 90 day window so they would not honor it. Guess I am stuck with defective sander and will never buy a Kobalt tool again as the warranty is junk.
If you contacted Kobalt directly they would have gave you a reference number to use and you would have been able to return it because it's a 3-year warranty on the tool itself and I've done it twice already even though the store tries to tell you differently
I almost bought into the Kobalt XTR line, but I noticed that on the tools I'd most commonly use, the triggers are extremely heavy to pull. I've got some gnarly arthritis in my hands, so that matters to me. Also, I just couldn't h.dle that everything is so extremely blue. Petty thing but they're not really appealing to the eye. The trigger pull though, if Kobalt softened them up a fair bit, I may regain interest.

The dust collection bag on my planer works surprisingly well. Team Blue. Getting this is a few days

When is the Kobalt 24v caulk gun going to be available to buy?

Great review of what seems to be a mediocre sander, at best.
I think it's a little better than mediocre, for a cordless belt sander. Thanks for watching.
