  • This is a demo of a very rare electric piano made by Denon/Columbia Nippon Japan. They started making electric pianos in 1962. I am not sure how old this one is exactly. It´s like a mix between Fender Rhodes, Wurlitzer, Hohner Pianet and Hohner Electra. The keyboard touch is light like a Wurlitzer, but feels different, maybe most similar to the Hohner Electra.

Wow, beautiful sound and playing Tom! I have two questions.
    1) At the @2:07 mark to the end of the video - Is this all improvisation playing, or mixed with some existing songs?
    2) Where did you buy the Elepian EP61C and what’s the price for these vintage pianos?!

Hi Luther, thanks, yes these are just ideas from myself. I only saw 1 for sale in my life and that was this one. Maybe more common in Japan. I was looking for japanese bass guitars for a while and saw they sell a lot of stuff on Yahoo Japan. Maybe that would be a place to look but they would have to be willing to ship and that might be delicate. Maybe in the US too but i am jot sure since I live in Europe.

wonderful playin and demo! I was wondering if the pedal could be replaced with something else? perhaps a pedal from a different keyboard?

Hi, the pedal is very similar to a rhodes piano, i imagine a rhodes pedal with the telescopic pin would work too.

do you know if the reeds/other parts are interchangeable with a wurlitzer? i want one but would be worried that if any parts broke they would be unobtainium

WOW. I have never seen something like this before; you're totally spot on about the Electra sound. Do you happen to be in the Midwest? I'd love to make a video on this for my channel.
Edit: A guy named Tom sold one of these on Reverb; I guess that was you? lol

@@TomAnsinkVideos Which FB group is the most relevant to elepian ep's? I own a working elepian 713 that's been chopped, and want to do a full refurb on it.
