When you are using gen 1 you don't hear benefits of gen 2 but you hear what's weak in gen 1 but double.

Listening on my AirPods Max and that was a remarkable comparison. gen 2 sounds so clean and i actually felt the bass. Can’t wait to try them tomorrow.

I'm glad you added the audio sample as that's a massive difference. I found that with the gen 1, I needed to use fixed spatial audio to get any decent sound out of them as the gen one audio quality was extremely underwhelming and I’m not even an audiophile but my Cambridge Audio Melomanias were Miles better for less money

The personalized spatial Audio feature has also come to the gen 1’s in a recent update from apple just an fyi for anybody wondering if you do have the first generation and were considering upgrading. Not to discourage anyone for upgrading. If you have had them for awhile or just want to then go for it. For me though i just got my gen one’s less than a year ago when they had the mid cycle update adding MagSafe compatibility. Great video Aaron!

Already on pre-order to pick up on launch day. Also have the Max. I think what Apple has done with these two pairs is ridiculously amazing for noise cancellation alone. Plus the sound and all that wonderful correctly done (no distortion) sub-bass, it literally makes you feel like you’re in a theater. I was blown away at the Max. Best $499 I’ve spent since the UE MegaBoom. I regret not one single cent.
Hey, i am hesitating between AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods Max. I have the AirPods Pro 1 right now and i am hesitating between upgrading them (since the battery is a bit tired) or buying AirPods Max. Amazing review and thanks so much for the sound samples page, for us audio nerds that´s incredibly apreciated! (i love that you can move the time where the clips are being played to compare the same part of the song) My favorites were the Sony 1000XM4, Galaxy Buds Pro, Airpods Pro 2 and Sennheiser CX Plus (all of them having a more natural and "balanced" sound to my ears.

Best review of these by far. I suppose you don’t want to spoil your content but… there’s a certain recent Bose model which in price tag and capabilities seems like the major rival of these AirPods Pro 2. I’m between those two, so I’d like to see that review asap, or at least one ‘first impression’ of the battle between them: if there’s one clear winner or if it feels like a personal preference / technical tie.

Appreciate the volume GUI response when swiping the stems. Good to see how much it changes the volume with each swipe. Seems like 5-8%?
That fan inclusion on the microphone test mirrors my working environment, so that was also appreciated.
BTW, Apple said “Up to 2x Noise Cancellation”, so it won’t be double all the time.

These are an improvement over the 1st gen buds. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxK5mc3yw4xA7Mf2j6k6n1Uqv_KUgrKdeM Pros: The fit is fantastic. This is the biggest plus. They stay in my ears when running and become unnoticeable. They are tight but comfortable. The sound quality is about the same as the 1st gen buds. They pair more easily with my LG G8 ThinQ and immediately reconnect when removed from the case. The sound balance is excellent, good but not overpowering base and clean mid tones and highs.Cons: The noise cancellation is good but perhaps a little less effective than the Bose ANC on the 1st gen buds. Passthrough mode as not as good as the 1st gen buds making it a little more difficult to hear conversations when in passthrough.

I’m listening on Gen 2 and it’s pretty impressive. The only issue that I have is that the Find My speaker integration doesn’t seem to work 100% of the time for me.

Excellent review. Great information very well presented. I was on the fence until you summarized how these were only a souped up and incremental upgrade to the existing AirPods Pro. They do have some very enticing new features but overall I feel it would be wisest to save my $249. Thank you very much for your review.

So unfair! In Germany they cost the equivalent of 303 dollars! Apple has always treated non American customers worse.
@@Celisar1 I’m not sure it has anything to do with Apple, but more like a country’s importing laws and taxes. Shipments cost money too.
Unless it’s an Apple official store, there’s also the importer’s profit.
Same as a car manufacturer’s MSRP price is never the same for every country, I think

I’ve had the originals since they came out, they sound good, but honestly the wired ones sound better, especially with lossless. But i got the gen 2 last Sunday and I’m in love. The sound is so much richer and fuller, and that’s without lossless support. I hope they find a way to support lossless somehow with an update, but I’m not holding my breath for that.

Aaron, do you think these improvements could be replicated on Gen 1 using custom EQ software? like Boom3D on Mac? This would not be a mobile solution but I'm curious how they would sound on desktop.
