I just did I true dual straight pipe with 5" tips on my 03 Tahoe an it's crazy can't get enough of it I keep forgetting stuff at the store just so I can get back out 😂
was looking for one of these gmt800’s as a 2nd vehicle and i’ve been watching a lot of videos on everyone’s setups on these. doesn’t sound that bad tbh, really really nice truck 😎
At first I was wanting this but the more and more I hear it in person from people around where I live, I am thinking more of true duals with some sort of muffler
I love the exhaust but it's a window buster. Farther up north where it snows, highway crews dump rocks on the road. If that thing were up here it would be hated on winter roads. Not saying you shouldn't lift it and widen the stance (if that's what you want), but you oughta bolt on fender flares and mount some mud flaps. If you take it off road like that and start roasting those tires you're gonna destroy that paint job and have her rusting away in no time.
3 inch is about what you need for a single pipe and yes that would cut down on the high tones as well as power at high rpms but increase a little torque. Personally if you dont like the raspiness I would recommend putting 2 black widow 250s on it or maybe a race venom. It wont do much but take some of the edge of. Or if you really hate it you can put 2 flowmaster 40 series or super 40s on it.
It is a calculated thing based on fuel consumption at a particular rpm. 2.25 dual is great for these 5.3L in a daily driver or street application. 2.5 dual would be good for racing. But this truck will be stopping at traffic lights and stop signs and so on so 2.25 is optimum to give more power on the low end.
@@paulevanson9947 Actually this gen Silverado came with 2.75" single exhaust from the factory. Whoever fabricated the duals on this had it done with 2.25" piping. And from the looks of the small cats he didn't know the factory size and bought 2.25" sizes so they had to make it fit. Horrible exhaust work.
I been trying to get true duals on my yukon for like 3 yrs now and most the shops in my area keep saying I can’t run them on my truck because the motor isn’t a 6.0 or cammed and it’s pissing me off the more videos I see of stock true dual gmt800.
117dB Loud, rattle, raspy ear wax melting exhaust doesn’t mean it sounds good. The shop owner is happy because he knows the truck will come back for quieter muffler very soon.
Run the stocks, if you’re motor is Stock leave the cats, just muffler delete and nice tips, truck will sound smooth, I did that to my “00 GMC it’s a 5.3 true dual muffler delete with a side exit exhaust, mine weren’t the exact lighting style tips but similar I I figured
@krosskid7657 my dad's 1999 sounds clean with the muffler replaced with a straight pipe and gutted cats. It throws a code though. But we aren't worried about that the truck has 440k miles motor has never been rebuilt. Transmission did go out at 300k miles though. It's hade no cats and a straight pipe for over 250k miles
Sounds good. I got a 2004 Chevy Silverado 5.3 and have true duals with dynomax bullet mufflers sounds amazing!
Did you gain any power?
I just did I true dual straight pipe with 5" tips on my 03 Tahoe an it's crazy can't get enough of it I keep forgetting stuff at the store just so I can get back out 😂
Did you notice any power difference?
OMG 120!! On the sound decibel's. That is a beast of a truck!
Yall do great work
Paint is soooooo clean.. looks better than my 2012 smh. Nice vid🤙🏾

Nice looking truck 👌
That bih clap cuh 👌👏😎
Sound like freedom

Vibrant Bottle Resonators are nice
That was amazing
Need to go get a TUNE since you have high flow cats on there and check engine light is on
Check engine on from the loss of the original cats

How much do y’all charge for a dual straight?
Do you need defoulers with high flow cats?
When you say that you are using 2¼ Inch pipe, you mean to the inside or outside diameter?
Pipe is O.D.
Do you have any experience with the Dr. Gas boomtube Nascar style exhaust?
Superb
What brand high flow cats ?
3 inch pipe would give it a deeper growl. It’s too rattled sounding.

Would this work on a 2000 chev Silverado?
As long as it has the 5.3 vortex 5300 yes
What number on them magnaflow
What’s with using 2.25 pipe all the time?
On stock applications its fine and besides it'll flow more than that crappy 2.75 single pipe they have stock

All these trucks come with stock 2.5 so sizing down seems odd.

I like!
That sounds like crap. He should’ve got some bigger piping
Have y’all go any 350z recently
what size was the high flow cats
Sounds good but wouldn't want to do a road trip in it.
I want to true dual my 01 tahoe but I have a 2 month old
Do true duals have that nasty drone sound while cruising?
My friends got em and he says they don’t at all
What wheels are tho
How much you charge for this?
What was wrong with the 4 inch tips?

They definitely don’t know what there talking about
Teenagers bout the only ones who would love that truck .. I dispise those huge sewer pipe tips...
It’s squatted too
I love it!
Needs an x-pipe and larger pipe.....
or H pipe for deeper sound
@@dictatorofsalt5902 Agreed
Yeah, 2.25 is too small.
X PIPE !!!
Ok
That’s all u hear in NC
ew its fucking squated
Needs some mufflers 🤷♂️
Maybe he should’ve spent more money on a proper lift and less money on a horrible sounding exhaust
thank you for understanding unlike these dummy dumb dumbs that think it sounds good
@@Sp1c3R1ce I agree, sept for spending money on a proper lift..he straight piped it. Future squatter i presume lol
Sounds like crap.
🤮🤮🤮
To much clap
Another failed attempt with a potentially great sounding truck.
😂😂 soft
