After watching a few of your Tesla video's I've booked a test drive on Monday in Czechia (expat!) I initially wanted the Plaid (go big or go home) but you've helped me settle for the "Model Y Performance" and maybe I'll get the Plaid in a few years.
It all came to a head last week with blood pressure issues out of the blue - so I want a car that if I have any health issues while driving, it will pull over safely, especially if my daughter is in the car with me on the school run.
I'll make sure to use your Tesla code if I do get one.. in the meantime I'll watch a few of your other videos over the weekend, Glucose monitor looks good and as I'll be building my own house soon, so your "EV solar battery set" has also caught my eye.
Glad I found your channel and will recommend it.. keep up the good work.

Great video, thanks Steve. Car looks amazing. Love a euro road trip. Currently in Chamonix with our 23 MYLR having spent the previous week down the south of France. Starting our journey home tomorrow with an overnight stop half way.

I don't suppose you came back on the euro tunnel with the MYP on August 5th did you? I am sure I saw that car as i was parked in the next queue waiting in my blue MYP! The red looked great, I like your video's Steve!

@@SteveJulien small world. I was on your right hand side in the next lane but 3 or 4 cars back. Your car looked great, even in the rain. I wish I'd come and said hello to a famous fellow MYP owner! I look forward to the next Tesla video.

Speed makes a massive difference to range so 60 mph will save loads of battery. When in France this July most chargers were busy at the service stops. Lots of Dutch EV's charging all across Normandy to the coast. We were in an ICE car and overtaken by French drivers towing trailers at 80 mph.

Steve, I really enjoy your videos. I am purchasing a Tesla, this fall, and I will be sure to use your referral code. I’ve gleaned a lot of information from your reviews. None more than the eight sleep review. Anyways, thanks again from Michigan.

The lower the charge you pull in with the faster it goes. What you mean by not going under 20% is usually related to the battery life and degradation, however that doesn’t matter so much these days discharging the car regularly. But charging past 80% isn’t great especially if you leave it there with the NMC batteries

Is the rode in the performance really that bad on uk roads? Im torn between the P and the LR. Im used to sports cars and stiffer suspension, just wondered how it was as a family car when the car is full on a road trip?

I it’s firm but fine. Early MYs were really still so I was worried but I get on well with the MYP.
If you have the MYP on your mind, then that could be the car for you!
My wife has a Q4 e-Tron which is better, but not very quick 😂

@SteveJulien yeah I'll have to take one for a test drive, already test drove an LR and loved it. Have you tried camping in the model y/sleeping in the back of it? Or do you just use it to get where your going? Cheers, great video btw

You optimal speed for best range in your car would have been 50-60mph. 650 miles at 60mph is about 11 hours of constant driving. Add your charging stops and the time taken to leave and reenter the autoroutes to get to the chargers and you’re at about 13-14 hours.
I own a Model 3 long range and a Peugeot diesel which can reach 1100miles on a tank on a long run.
I live in SW France and have driven to UK many times in the Model 3, using the Tesla charging network. We break journey overnight and do it in two legs when using the Tesla and have stayed at that hotel near the Le Mans chargers with our dog. Taking the Peugeot we do it in one journey with fewer stops and it takes less time.
I have found the Tesla AutoPilot to be unreliable and dangerous in France due to unexpected braking and steering, so I no longer use it.

Range is dependent on so many factors. My S P100D can easily drop to 200 Wh/mi at 60 mph. At 50 mph like 160 Wh/mi. But overall more like 320. EPA is standardized but still may not be real world for many. NEDOC WLPT even less so.
I have an older X and performance S and recently the performance Y. I agree the YP is there most modern, right size, best value Tesla. Performance and Handling are excellent. Ride is firm but comfortable (? revised). UI is snappy. Seats are excellent(though not ventilated). The value in the US use great 55k for YP and federal tax credit 7500 and more state credits make it extremely compelling!
