The problems of the Sig Ep house were almost universal among fraternities when I was there in the mid '70s. The whole greek house system is a bad idea. Get rid of all of the houses.
I agree and take it one step further. Universities should be academic institutions and should get rid of their athletic departments, most of which lose money for the school. Most of the students brought in on athletic scholarships shouldn't even be there and the athletes should practice their sports on their own time and with their own money if they really want to, like I do with Judo. I think that this also applies to high schools and middle schools which waste massive amounts of money on athletics. Foreign students are often surprised that the schools seem like athletic clubs with a small school attached to them for classes.
