I just cant believe how I, a 70 year old retired man in the American MIdwest, has simply fallen in love with these two. Sutan has to be the cutest, most expressive and lovable character Ive ever seen. (And that's from someone who has granddaughters he adores.) But the amazing thing is the love and patience shown by her parents. It's something that knows no cultural bounds.
Sutan has grown so much! And Moe is becoming more and more a cultural ambassador for her homeland. Both mother and daughter have come quite a long way.

I just want to thank you tremendously for this channel! I have been watching for about 30 days now, since then I have bought matcha tea and have been drinking it daily. I have been drinking for anout a week and have almost completely cut out my coffee! Tonight I made us a Japanese dinner, homemade miso soup with fresh roman noodles and Japanese dehydrated veggies along with rice crackers wrapped in seaweed, the dinner was pork tenderloin sliced thin and marinated in teriyaki and soy sauce cooked with broccoli, carrots, and cauliflower, then fried rice with eggs, and vegetables and seaweed, to top it off I put some Yum Yum sauce in mine 😅 it was delicious and I owe this new adventure to you and your precious family. I love watching the channel. Not only does Kimono Mom present interesting cooking and things that I've always been curious about Japan, but Sutan is such an adorable magnet that makes it so hard to resist watching how such a little girl can be so cute and funny whenever she's on camera. That girl will be as delightful and beautiful as her mom. Both parents did such a great job raising her. I expect she will make her parents happy as a successful adult following in her parents footsteps.
Thank you for the inspiration in using miso in so many different dishes! Miso is easy accessible in my local supermarket and I like to use it when I make ramen or as a marinade for a good fish dish! 😋
Perfect timing for this video! I was just wondering how to use up some miso in my fridge. My personal favorite use of miso is adding a bit to mashed potatoes! It’s my secret ingredient for flavorful mashed potatoes without having to add too much cream and butter.

In northeastern China, we use soy paste (which is originally from China and exported into Korea and Japan) as a dipping sauce for raw vegetables like cucumbers, green onions, and baby radishes. We also use it as a main ingredient in various noodle dishes. My favorite is a sauce made from eggs, soy paste, and green peppers, which we use as a sauce to put over cooked noodles. We usually put shredded raw cucumber on top to add some freshness to the taste.

That miso ramen with corn and butter is Hokkaido Style! Super exited for my winter trip there soon. Kimono Mom's RUclips members can learn how to make different types of ramen in great detail. I joined a class on ramen cooking, and it was informative
One of our grocery stores does carry miso and I like making pork with a miso and ginger sauce (I saw the recipe on KantanFood by Satoshi's channel) I also occasionally make a miso and chicken soup. 😊
I'm from Iceland and yes we get Miso here along with Soy sauce and Mirin also Sushi and Ramen places are rather popular here. I use Soy Sauce and Mirin so much, it's one of my favourite way to make a good sauce.
I just found an organic brown rice miso which I'm going to buy (here in the UK) and I just bought some rye spaghetti, so I'll create something like the first recipe. Thanks for the inspiration!
Miso + salmon is super delicious! Miso paste glaze with rice wine vinegar soy sauce and sesame oil broiled on salmon with fluffy rice with green onion and sesame seeds. So easy, so delicious. Umami bomb!!

As far as i know (and i have experienced), there are many types of miso. My favourite is the shiro miso. Maybe you could make a video about all the japanese misos!
I remember you checking the miso and soy sauce a while back , I think in the kitchen tour video and the mould was mentioned then and the soy sauce had a very bad smell. Sutan's reaction to the mould said it all but the miso underneath seemed to be fine.
Koji itself is a rice mold prevented from ruining the whole miso by the amount of salt added, and starch in legumes. Since fermentation usually pushes liquid to the top of the container that's where the mold has room to grow. It lives the bottom untouched.
I love miso but my husband doesn’t like it unfortunately 😢 everything looks so good I’ll try it another recommendation for everyone to try is tamagomiso, my favorite, I eat it by itself, on bread, or on rice is the best
Wow I have seen Maangchi’s doengjang video and it’s so amazing and complex. I like the bake potato and the miso oniyaki recipe so much. I must try this giving out best hopes for distribution of Umami sauce. Have you looked at to see if Uwajimaya Seattle would have interest? I used to shop all my Japanese miso, other ingredients, and many things there.

I have lentil miso that at this point is eight years old. It's good for seafood but is extremely strong. My favorite is chickpea miso.
