- I’ve been on a bit of a Larry Fessenden kick lately, either intentionally or by circumstance. I really wanted to talk about the movie Late Phases, which has a cameo from the man and his name in the produced by section. This led to one of our favorites in Danielle Harris, wishing that more people knew about a movie she did called Stake Land. We’ve gone down another rabbit hole and heard from the man himself that The Last Winter is a movie of his that he wishes had been seen by more people. This movie sees Larry not only in the producing and cameo roles that he is known for but also in the hats of director, writer, and editor. We here at Joblo Horror originals happen to agree with the man that The Last Winter in one of the Best Horror Movies You Never Saw!

"I sell the dead" is criminally underrated 🤔🤔🤘🤘
Damn right!
Interesting pronunciations of "wendigo" and "Poughkeepsie"!
It drives me crazy when they mispronounce words in their videos. 😂
As someone who has family in Poughkeepsie, I cringed a bit.
Alright, you convinced me. I will be watching this one tonight. Great review.
Please do!
I missed this one completely when it came out. And I'm a fan of Ron and Larry. Still good to know a guy like Larry can get a film made and put out for audiences to find, even if it didn't get the attention it deserved when it premiered.
I can't help but I love his acting more than overall productions. He steals every movie he is in. First I saw him in "We are still here" and it was the love at first sight. Also I highly recommend "The Transfiguration". So sad and beautiful. After seeing him playing mostly low life I could not believe how fine man he is in "Jakob's Wife"! But of course "Late Phases" is a masterpiece and anybody involved give their best.
It’s not Wendingo stop saying it like that.
Romeo is Bleeding and Sensation are his most underrated films (imo), however it's all subjective.
I thought Last Winter was about the last time Ron Pearlman pissed on his hands
You called Corman a living legend that's alive & well. I'm guessing this video was made before his death?
6 weeks ago. Give the man a break. :)
Larry Fessenden looks like a more very friendly version of Jack Nicholson
IMO, with a little Billy Paxton thrown in for good measure.
I agree 👍💯
I seen this movie back in October 2022 on prime video.
I got this on dvd when it came out, I enjoyed it. Though I haven't watched it since. I should probably correct that...
Sounds interesting! I'll be checking this one out. The Bay was an environmental horror movie that left an impact on my mind for a good month. If this is similar to that and The Thing, I'll love it.
Help, the wendingos ate my baby!
Glass eye pix
the prophecy was an environmental horror?
Larry has the largest forehead I ever seen... Freak or genius...?
Ok well the user reviews state this movies 2nd act stinks, I’ll pass
I just watched it for the first time. Fessenden delivered big time on this. Five stars ***** highest rating. Joe Bob sez check it out.
PS Never would have seen it without this great JoBlo piece!
Totally agreed with you this movie is underrated!!!!, I just watched it yesterday and I really enjoy it.
Are you saying “wenDINGO”? 😂
Heads up, there isn't a second "n" in Wendigo.
Maybe a Wendingo ate your baby...
oh, sure, just like there is no 2nd "g" in Penglings? Quit yanking my chain
One of the worst movies I've ever seen lol
Stake Land is a criminally underrated film. I loved it when it came out.
This and black mountain side are great slow burn horror films
I saw this back in the day and I wasn't huge fan but I don't remember much about it, I'll give it a rewatch. The Wendigo though...sorry to say, I thought that film was terrible.
The Last Winter is awesome.
The scene with the guy going out into the deep negative degree temperatures completely naked and walking until he froze solid......
One of those few scenes in a film that has stuck with me for years...
EDIT: BTW, it's WEN dig o not wen DING o.
One N and stress on the first syllable.
Winter with the Beast? Oh yes!!! 😊😊
Rest in peace Rog! Rogue is such a great creature feature gem. One of my favorite scream queens.
