I only have four wine glasses and we entertain often I have a big family but usually only four adults at once have any wine the guys drink beer and someone always has work the next day so not everyone drinks it works for me

I love decluttering too, just feels so satisfying having space in all nooks in your home. Just gotta be careful not to get into a cycle of accumulating stuff and decluttering it for the dopamines
@@Lolidropz oh yes! I’m aware of this cycle. But honestly I’m going through a time of trying to figure out what’s going to work for my family. Like I got married about 2 years ago & I have a 9 month old baby. I was gifted a lot of things I didn’t ask for, and it’s A LOT. It’s hard to figure out what I actually need since there’s so much.
I regularly purge & purchase minimally (literally just groceries and broken things that need to be replaced) I have been regularly purging until I figure out the minimum amount of things I need (I’m getting close)
for example, during a shoe declutter, the high heeled pumps I had in my teenage years aren’t useful to me now so I had to get rid of those. But in replace of that item, I’m getting one sandal that’s comfortable + practical that’s good enough quality to last for at least 3 years+ & this will be my only shoe purchase for the year.

@@Lolidropz thank you !! I’m just in an awkward phase of life honestly. I had things from 10 years ago stuffed away (just decluttered) & also things from college like assignments, projects etc. that my profs told me to keep, that I now finally got rid of. Plus the endless amount of baby things I was gifted

Hot tip: for the extra kitchen utensil drawer, you could run vertical drawer dividers to keep the utensils orderly. Love the series!

Niceee! I made a rule for myself- since I only have 4 burners on my stove,
I can not own more than 4 pans or 4 pots because even if I'm using all 4 burners, there only room for 4 pots/pans.
I own 2 fry pans, 2 pots (soup and stock) and one cast iron
I like that logic! We will sometimes need two of the same size at a time, but could definitely get rid of a couple, I think

I feel like this is typical. People just don't actually go through their things. You just sort of become blind to the mess, or keep it because...well because it's there. We were shocked at all the silly things hiding in our own cupboards and closets.

I'm leaning towards the clear organizer drawer bins. I don't the the holes in the dollar store bins, things always seem to poke through. Regardless, they are better than nothing! Nice job...sorry cousin Marie, I kind of like Mai's approach better. lol!

I am truly hoping for you to have less baskets on your counters when you are done. It looks like you have the space and removing cluttered countertops adds a calm and clean feeling. You could put that hand sanitiser refill with the miscellaneous dollar tree drawer since theres plenty of space and its health related as are the thermometer type things.

Hi Mai!! You’re adorable 🥰 I’ve decluttered my wine glasses several times and yesterday I made the final decision of 4 regular wine glasses and our champagne flutes 🥂 from our wedding. If they don’t get used, they won’t make the cut on my next decluttered. You rock, I’m learning so much in my adult years as well. Nobody teaches you how to do so many regular mom wife things. Trial and error 🤷🏼♀️ you are hilarious and I have fun listening to you. 46 in California
If those white and clear containers slide around, putting putty on the bottom and sticking them to the drawer will prevent sliding!

I need to do this badly. Looks great. I like the dollar tree ones. Put dawn power wash+water+paper towel into your stained containers then shake it up & let sit for a bit. The staining residue will soak into paper towel. Seen it as a hack after I already thru out my stained containers😂 Thanks for the video

You can use the freezer bags to freeze things like chili or soup. Just make sure it's upright when you freeze/defrost and its perfectly fine. My sister does it for her big family.

I'm a huge fan of utilizing vertical space. The silver mixing bowls could be placed on a 'riser' or shelf (plastic, metal, etc.) and then the bundt cake pan could be placed underneath them in the same cabinet.
Great 💡 for the boy’s cabinet. I did the same for my grandchildren.
Well done! I cleaned out all my cleaning supplies today. 2 large paper bags full went to the donation center. I have my favorite cleaners and didn’t use all of the extras. I really like your channel!

You had accumulated an amazing amount, but did an amazing job of decluttering! You should be very proud and happy. Suggest you use large rarely-used items like a crock pot to the back of a cupboard or to a top shelf, so the more convenient and front-of-cupboard space is for frequently used items.
Personally I'd keep the Bullet container lids in case I wanted to run out the door with a milkshake to run errands, or send a kid to school with a smoothie. Those Rubbermaid red lid containers are fine in the fridge, just not on the go. I love a big glass bowl for mixing batter & dough (and you can't microwave a steel one when you need to melt butter). But everyone has to know his/her own priorities. Congrats on finally focusing on yours and making your kitchen far more uncluttered, pleasant, and usable!

You're so funny Mai! I use a lot of freezer bags (for freezing food, organization etc) I know its not good for the environment! I wish Canadian Amazon had all the same stuff that American Amazon does! I couldn't find some of the things that you linked below 😞. I was so excited to see this massive declutter!! Thanks Mai! Can't wait for part 2! I like the dollar tree organizers more. The clear ones I like but they start to look cloudy after a while, and those ones seem too small. I love getting things off the counter! Makes it look so much bigger and definitely more neat!
I got rid of some of my wine glasses when my brother and his now wife moved in together. They didn't have any, so I gave them some. I inherited so many wine glasses from my dad. I don't even use them. When I drink wine, I just use regular tumblers because they're easier to clean, and I don't have guests over because of the pandemic. But I don't want to throw them away because they were my dad's.

I think the appropriate amount of wine glasses is six that's how many I've kept for myself because I was gifted so many wine glasses and when you go to wineries they give you free wine glasses and you just end up with way too many wine glasses. And I don't even drink wine that often I only drink it when I have company.

The sharp “V” shaped tool is for cutting a tomato or any fruit or veggie in half in a crown 👑 cut. So basically Fancy like🤣🤣 Nobody got time for that😜
If you use the ziploc bags mainly for packing, then you could keep them with your luggage 😊
The round glasses are burgundy red wine glassware. Than you have champagne and sherry or smth look glassware. You have a chance to decide according to what wine you drink most and keep those.

I’ve used the Amazon and dollar tree organizers in our house and the dollar tree ones lasted so much longer than the ones from Amazon! Plus depending on the time of year I was able to get different colors to match the areas better.
I have a suggestion if you want the over flow utensil drawer to have compartments. It’s a super simple diy that I use for 2 of our over sized drawers to stop everything from moving around when I open them. First measure the length and height of the drawer then get foam board from the dollar tree and cut out strips to match the measurements (add a tiny bit more to the length for a snug fit). Glue 3 strips together to give it some width and stability then cover with whatever contact paper you like from the dollar tree. You can then put a couple pieces of double sided tape on the bottom to hold them in place and vuala! Inexpensive and affective drawer dividers for your longer drawers! The double sided tape makes them easy to adjust or replace if needed. 😊

Great video. Size and shape of wine glass depends on the wine you are drinking/serving. The small glasses are good for white/rose, larger "bowl" wine glasses are better for red wines, it allows the wine to breathe. Now if your family are not wine drinkers, keep the small ones and donate the rest. I would suggest your relocate your champagne flutes to the upper shelf. We use ours only once or twice a year so get them out of the way.

Just a tip for anyone with those locking containers, check the seal for mold! I was pulling a bunch out of the dishwasher one day and realized some of them had mold growing under the rubber seal. Maybe people pull it out to wash them but I never did and got that nasty surprise!

With glasses and other problematic items as far the numbers I need [as I have room] I put the majority on a top shelf out of the way and a couple of each type in use on the accessible shelf. If the ones at the top do not get used.the I know I do not need them

Oh, I don’r really know how many wine glasses someone need but I have 12 glasses in five different kinds. Lots of glasses: white wine, three different models for red wine, one for sparkling wine (prosecco). And then I have martini glasses, one for cognac, other five different kinds for spirits (but I mainly use them for finger food). And probably different pairs for meditation wines.
I probably could open a bar. Ah, very important, I don’t drink and hubby only have a glass while eating… 😂
