- Today is the finale of the kitchen area declutter and organization!!!! During the organization portion I will share with you my new Cricut Joy cutting machine and how I am using it as they have graciously sponsored this video. It turned out to be China from my husbands side of the family! I ended up donating/selling what I could. He didn’t have any interest in holding onto it and his siblings didn’t either. And thank you for acknowledging that I say it the right way!! Lol people always try to correct me on it and I stand firm on my pronunciation 😆
I always said it the other way cause that’s how someone else introduced them to me 😭

I feel like this is me a year ago. My 1st round of decluttering there was so much randomness. A year later I’m still redecluttering and it’s easier and easier each time!!! Keep going!! I have 4 little kids and as soon as I saw how much easier life was for our family when we had less stuff or as Dawn from Minimal Mom calls it inventory to take care of!!!
Seriously randomness central over here! lol I can already see what a difference it makes in the already decluttered areas!! So happy with them and I am trying hard to maintain every area I have already decluttered so it is taking some time to get through the whole house, but I am determined to get there :)

I’ve never gotten the impression that you were genuinely trash talking your husband. Maybe because my husband and I have a very playful relationship too.
Now you can store all the China over the fridge!!! If you wanted to be fancy take one place setting of each and display on the way using plate hangers
That's what I was thinking since you typically don't use nicer China often just have it above the fridge so when you need it take it down and it doesn't take up any other space
My pictures are in one room. The work out room. I look at them and remember those moments while working out.
My pictures are also in one room. The dining room, so they serve at points of conversation when friends/family come over.
Mai, great declutter and organization session. I have one tip for you, batteries need to be in a battery storage container or something like the tea organizer. Batteries shouldn’t touch their tips with other batteries. Place them either with the tip facing up or on their sides. There is a As Seen on Tv product called Battery Daddy that stores the batteries safely. You can buy it on Amazon or Bed Bath and Beyond for $19.99. Can’t wait for your next decluttering and organizing video.
You sound like you have a wonderful relationship with your husband, I’ve been married to my husband for 32 years and I still introduce him to new people as my first husband, just to keep him on his toes, unfortunately he was diagnosed with neoendocrine cancer 4 years ago so I don’t do it anymore because I don’t want to tempt fate, but he finds it hilarious. Every marriage that works is because you get each other. Don’t ever apologise for your relationship if people criticise it’s because they don’t get you, as long as he gets you your doing great ❤️ love your videos and appreciate that you keep your husband and children’s privacy ❤️
Please can I suggest rechargeable batteries, that way you'll only ever need a few spare rather than a whole box, and it will save you a ton of money in the long run. And less waste/landfill. I wish they were more common! Loving the decluttering videos.
My husband and I roast each other all the time. It keeps the marriage alive. We know we don’t mean what we say, we just like to goof off and have fun. Plus both of us are major smarta**es.

Use a silverware type tray to store your batteries. Also, make sure that your 9volt batteries are not touching (the terminals can start a fire if they are touching another battery).

If you want a little more counter space, lean your cutting boards against the backsplash. We keep our three stacked together by the stove and lay it down when we need it. 😊
I do the same. I also narrowed it down to one cutting board. It’s a glass one. No bacteria and use it for everything! 👌🏻
@@mommyoftoomanywilson6745 luckily my house came with a tiny cabinet where we have all the pans and cutting boards there. I really need to switch to glass though. It is less bacteria and doesn't have prices of wood or plastic falling off
@@vickyandersen8660 I switched to a glass cutting board. The best! I’m scared of breaking it, but it does it all. I only use one for everything. I’m clumsy so one day it will come crashing down. Lol

I personally think your wedding photos are part of precious moments in your life, so you should display them on a dedicated wall to family photos. I think your kiddos will love watching them!

My husband did ballet for almost a decade as a kid! Great for balance and any sports they may want to do (or not) in the future!
Take a photo if you don’t have one of your canvases. Or hang your favorite in your bedroom. Then declutter, or hang in the garage, your husband will always be reminded of you 😀

Please be careful about how you store the batteries in the box. You don't want the poles touching, as it could cause damage or heating up. A few pieces of carboard to separate the poles from connecting should do the trick. You're doing a great job!
I was going to say the same thing. Separating some into baggies may help as well.
And check those expiration dates! I had a few that were so old they were leaking and bulging... we eventually bought a battery daddy to keep each battery separate and I love it!
They sell battery storage pretty inexpensive-it’s nice because you can immediately see if you are running low of a certain size and they are safe
I never knew about that. I have been storing batteries in an open plastic bin for over 30 years and I haven’t experienced anything.

If you have a formal lounge keep the albums there on a coffee table. Great conversation starters!
Take the lid off the tea organizer and put it into an empty drawer under the counter, thus you just pull and grab for a cupper!

Great motivation.. Thank you.. Child safety tip.... Don't let your little ones see you work/use/operate the child safety locks. They are "monkey see monkey do" people and will instantly know how to get the lock open. Have a great day...
My only suggestion for the pictures would be to either take a picture of them and get rid of them, take them off of the wood and store in a book. (I bought Art storage books to hold extra 8x10 type photos, or take a picture of them to put in a shutterfly type book.

Your videos have motivated me to declutter and clean my house. Love them! We never replaced photos of us, we just added to it. I made a "family wall" with a mix of pictures (our wedding, our child, family weddings, other family members) and a few decorative elements as well. What's the point of being married if you can't joke with each other and be snarky? lol, my husband and I do that and joke saying "How do I know you still love me?" and the other says "well, you're still alive aren't you?" Dark humour keeps us going and laughing, 15 years and counting....

I put my china set above my refrigerator cabinets since we don’t use those cabinets or the set but it has sentimental value and don’t have the heart to sell/donate them

Maybe you could hang the canvas prints of you and your husband in your bedroom. That leaves the rest of the house for family pictures and your bedroom for the pictures of you two. Also in other organizational videos I've seen people are putting little shelves in their living rooms and/or dinning rooms and/or other rooms guests frequent to display their photo books so anyone who wants to look through them can. Just something I've seen that I've thought is a good idea. Also people with younger children often put the shelves up higher so the kids can't get into the books and possible rip them. Great job on the kitchen!!

Just like your medicine cabinet, I would do the same for the kids paint. Also I wouldn’t lock the fire extinguisher in with knives. If an emery does happen the seconds saved not messing with lock are important. Last how close is mai’s mystery pantry to the kitchen because with time the grease and grime of the kitchen could damage to photos. Maybe a bookshelf in study or office or family room. All of this are just things to think about. Looks great! I’m jealous and howdy from Houston, Texas
That’s a good point, I should store it in a non locked drawer! And the mystery pantry is across from our food pantry. But not close enough to the stove or oven to worry about grease 😁
Keep the china! One day one of your son’s wives may appreciate having it. It’s so gorgeous. Also, as you grow older your lifestyle changes and maybe you would love to use it for a dinner party. You have the space.......so, keep it. You won’t regret it. 🌺
Take copies of your canvases and put them in an album, then they’ll take up loads less space.
Honestly just donate the china, if your never going to use it there’s no point keeping it. Take a photo of it if you want to keep the memories associated. It’s much more of an emotional burden to keep pushing it around your home.
I display random pictures and decorations that I still like, but don’t really go anywhere, in my laundry room.
My aunt would put pictures going up her stairs in her house. Waist high to ceiling
Maybe put the tie dye in one of those shoeboxes and put that in the craft cabinet? Just remove the bottles from the packaging! 😊

I hung pics in my closet... (Marie Kondo wrote in her book)....I though it was a weird idea but I really like them there it brings a smile to my face.

China over the fridge! There is you do need it but allows for you to have a safe place to store that’s not taking valuable real estate amongst your other cabinets!

Move pre-kid photos into master bedroom/master suite. The master is the space in your home that should be dedicated to you as a couple.

I think it depend on how big of projects you want to do. There are more limitations with the cricut joy which is what I have. But it’s also so easy to use with the smart product line and easy to store!

My husband and I roast each other all the time too. When you are in a relationship like that, you somehow just know what is 'untouchable' and the rest is just fun so I totally get it. I have sat through *far* worse comments than I would ever even think about him listening to other people at work who think they are being 'playful' about their partner. *That* the mortifying stuff.
Just a suggestion, maybe the fire extinguisher should be in a non-childproof cabinet, I know I would absolutely fumble with the childproof mechanisms in an emergency 🤦♀️
Suggestion for your photos. Scan them and display them in a digital photo frame in your bedroom on a dresser or on the wall.
Put the towels in one of the empty drawers so that everyone knows where to find them and its easy.

Recently decluttered my life and it’s wild how many times you’ll have todo it. Eventually those organization bins will be empty because you won’t need them as you declutter more over the years.
seriously so true!!!! I've really been trying to maintain the areas I've already decluttered, but things start to pile here and there... Nothing like before, but it doesnt stay perfect forever without keeping an eye on it lol
One reason I don’t do canvases is because of the storage they will someday require. I have frames, all the same, and I put out the pics I want and keep the older ones in there. Also get a battery caddy instead of a sterlite box due to fire hazard of batteries touching.
I didn’t even think of the battery thing!! I have smaller plastic containers I can put in to separate them better so ends don’t touch. Thanks!!

Pictures are important and so especially your wedding picture so if you have an office at home you can put them there because they are on canvas
