For the crumb tray for your small oven: line it with aluminum foil. THat way you don't have to scrub it to get it clean. Just take off the dirty layer and add a new clean layer.

Try putting the crumb tray in an air-tight plastic bag with some ammonia (1/4 cup), let it sit outside in the sun all day, be careful ammonia smells to high heaven and you must use in well ventilated area and wear gloves. Give it a scrub and all the baked-on grease should come off pretty easily.

A repair man told me the smell in my front loader was from using too much detergent. I used less than what the bottle called for but he told me it only takes about 1/8 of a cup to get your clothes clean. I decided to try it. I also contacted the detergent manufacturer and searched for more info online. All agreed with my repair guy. I've never had an issue with a stinky front loader since.

I have a Smith’s knife sharpener too and I’ve had it for 10+ years! For your crumb tray, I find that if you actually use a light hand and work at it in circular movements that you can make such progress - literally did that this weekend 😂 definitely wrap it in foil afterwards though, such a time saver!

I always prefer kettles which go on the gas because the electrical ones sometimes stop working and electricity is much more expensive than gas, at the end of the year, it makes a difference. I thought the same thing! They are so cute…but seem to be too high maintenance with kiddos. I used to have a regular table and chairs with cushions/fabric, and when we got our new table and chairs, I insisted they had to be all wood and simple design (no cushions, fabric or nooks) and it’s been a game changer day to day. So easy to wipe down.

For the oven tray, use 1) steel wool, and if that's no good, then 2) Easy Off on stuck-on stains, and cover it w/aluminum foil afterwards so all you have to do to "clean it" is replace the foil and maybe wipe it w/a Clorox wipe e/time. It's so easy it'll feel like you're cheating, but it's about working smartly.
(Also, consider having your husband and sons help out: you seem to deep-clean crazy often, but we SAHMs aren't maids and it's their home too.)

I can definitely say that I never do whole house in one day !Especially with little 11 month old in a house 😉don't worry if you do one room in one day ... in 7 days you will have it under control as long as you do something everyday 😁

I saw a video where they used oven cleaner on the tray and covered it with saran wrap overnight.

Mai! You need an SOS pad to get the pan from the oven clean.
LOVE LOVE LOVE my Ruggable rug. Why did I not think about rolling it like that to put it back on?!? 🤦🏻‍♀️ I just wish the pad was washable too.
You could really use a tineco ifloor because they vacuum and mop in one. Huge time savings. Maybe ask for it for Christmas!

Enjoying watching this video! By the way...I like the idea of using rugable rugs! I think I need to snag one or more of them. Great job on all your cleaning & organizing!😊

I’m curious how often you do this bench area and sweep up under it. Like is this a daily mess weekly or monthly mess. I don’t know if you’d actually scrub the entire bench daily but I’d probably hit the rug with a vacuum daily or close to it. I have five kids so I know how fast it gets trashed if you don’t keep up with it.

Why don't you just sell your spin mop on marketplace and buy the one you really want? Or use the one you have as the air b+b exclusive one, and put the target on on your Christmas wish list?

Baking soda and vinegar removes those sticky oil and grease stains.

Try using white vinegar instead of Affirm. Never had a problem with odor and it's cheaper☺

You should donate any of the stuff to a local women’s shelter instead of goodwill because they just hike the pieces up and then that way it’s actually going to someone in need instead of being over inflated in price or a Thrift store in your area

Use the "pink stuff" sold on amazon. It's amazing for old grease stains.

There’s a lot you can get rid of. Use a knife to slice grapes & cut stems off strawberries.

This is our first year with our little man for Christmas. (Technically second… he was born on the 22nd of December last year, but we were both too busy trying not to die on the 25th, so it doesn’t count 😜).
For him we are implementing the 4 gift rule: want, need, share, read. It’ll keep clutter low and help us focus on what really matters at Christmas. We also thrift/buy second hand where possible for environmental reasons. His birthday present is a huge box of lightly used duplo we scored on marketplace for $30 AUD. Win! 😁
As for myself? A few years back my now husband bought us tickets to see Aladdin the Musical. I’m not so subtly hinting for a similar experience gift (maybe see a cricket game, go out for dinner without the kiddo, mini golf, etc. I hope you’re reading this, Billy. 😘).

Mai! For your little oven tray (or anything that collects food related grease in your home) I'd suggest you get one of those heavy duty sponges (like Spongenators) that are meant for big pots and frying pans, you know? Takes the grease off easier than a regular sponge will without damage. Also, after you clean, line the tray with aluminum foil so the next cleanup won't be as time consuming. Oh, and baking soda also helps with greasy stuff! Much love. ♥

I always ask for gift cards (which I then sometimes use to buy gifts for others). And, I really want a stick vacuum, however there are so many choices I am confused. We have laminate floors, so I keep using my swiffer wet-jet for wood floors. I have a spin mop but am hesitant to use it. (Lol…the struggle is real.) 🤷🏻‍♀️

Cleaning hack! Wet slightly one side of sugar cube and rub that grease away. When rubbing is not easy anymore, add some water again.
I used those to clean gas over as I was scared of getting all kind of chemicals inside the gas burning part of the oven. Works with metallic things that are greasy. Will take some time as surface of sugar cube is so small, but trust me, the shiny metal makes it worth it.
