It would be interested to know how if the 165 Khaos would have less front end lift and do better in technical terrain. Great Video comparing the differences in performance and summary of where the two sleds excel in regards to terrain!
Khaos is for people like barant who just like playing around wheeling over backwards all the time. I’d rather the pro anytime just because it’s easier to get into harder places. All depends on your riding style. Awesome video man thanks. Dam good riding too
Technically, the rail profile has nothing to do with the handling, it's the same profile in both the new sleds. The reason the Khaos handles differently is because the front shock and limiter strap is longer there by increasing the angle of the torque arm. The more angle, the more force is directed down or towards lift, the less angle the more force is directed to forward movement. Cool video though!
I’ll be honest I never had that much issue with my Khaos being unruly. Long term though I stretched it to a 163 after my first season as a 155. Only reason being was that it trenched and was hard to keep the front down on steep and technical terrain. The 163 conversion made it way better in steep technical terrain. This season I’m putting a turbo on it and can’t wait. But I had a 17 pro Rmk before and tbh I love the 20 Khaos compared to the pro Rmk for my riding style. Probably will step up to the patriot boost Khaos in another season or 2 though.

For me, at my age- the khaos allows me to ride all day with my 30 year old son and my 28 year old daughter, go all the same places they go and not be sore and kill myself throughout the day. I can ride the pro all the same, it just takes a little more "muscle" if you will. The Khaos is just easier on my body. While i appreciate the comparison in this video, most of the general public and weekend warrior riders will NEVER be at this level.
Would be worth while mentioning, if you don’t like the khaos ski lift you can drill a new hole in the front limiting straps and bring it closer in, and end up with ski pressure like an rmk Also in more spring like snow conditions a khaos would really shine, most of my days on the snow are not as good as in your video It’s all a trade off In the hill climb portion you get the khaos to appear to struggle, hitting the bottom of that hill with any speed keeps the front end more planted. I like a short track because I carry more momentum in my riding anyways typically Current sled is a 2020 khaos, have had a 16 rmk and 12 assault, and I highly prefer sleds with more ski lift for my ride style To each his own obviously, but the excessive ski left in a khaos is a very easy tune/fix
All great points! Yes there is plenty of adjustments that could be made, this wasn’t a setup video. To your point about the speed at approach...I did dead stop starts on both the pro and Khaos, same body positioning as well. Both sleds with time, could be setup to what each rider needs! That’s awesome that you’ve been a Polaris rider for a while, they make good stuff!
Turcotte, do you think the Khaos or Pro would be better for a beginner? Lastly, do you think the Khaos suspension setup could be changed to make the sled more predictable? Thank you for taking the time to answer.
Hey David! They Both are really great sleds...beginners will love the ease and lightness feel of the Khaos for sure! With some setup time, it can be close to the RMK for predicting its next move! Keep an eye out for my next video talking suspension setups!
@@turcotte16 well I’m currently on a pro 163. I’m thinking bout lengthening my limiter strap. Maybe just on notch. I’d like a bit more ski lift. I really just need to come ride with guys who know how to tune a sled. Trial and error though.
Thanks for that video! I liked the comparison. Not perfect, but that’s real world. Have you ever ridden the khaos in the 165? Much difference in that front end lift? 165 Khaos would be a good middle ground for sure! I don’t often ride anything longer than a 155 but for some playfulness but predictability the Khaos 165 would be a great choice

Great video and feedback. You must have a great cardio program. If you have the opportunity, it would be interesting to see the same testing and comparing of 165 Pro/Khaos. I’m wondering if the differences wouldn’t be as much as the 155’s?
Yeah it would be nice if we had just any new sled. I have always wanted one but we can't afford it. I am 13 and I have been snowmobiling for years. I just want a new sled like a Khaos
The rail profile at the front is a little steeper, making for a more harsh approach angle where the front of the track wants to dig more, instead of plane out on top! It makes for a fun and playful ride!
That’s a good review. I was going to convert my Pro to Khaos, but I think I will leave it now. Are you running any engine mods or just stock with cans?
Love the videos great job! I see you adjust the low speed to change the attitude of the Khaos. Does high speed not have as much effect on wheelie and transfer? Is it more for bumps and jumps? Thanks!

Would be worth while mentioning, if you don’t like the khaos ski lift you can drill a new hole in the front limiting straps and bring it closer in, and end up with ski pressure like an rmk
Also in more spring like snow conditions a khaos would really shine, most of my days on the snow are not as good as in your video
It’s all a trade off
In the hill climb portion you get the khaos to appear to struggle, hitting the bottom of that hill with any speed keeps the front end more planted. I like a short track because I carry more momentum in my riding anyways typically
Current sled is a 2020 khaos, have had a 16 rmk and 12 assault, and I highly prefer sleds with more ski lift for my ride style
To each his own obviously, but the excessive ski left in a khaos is a very easy tune/fix
When Noah started the pro, why did the pull cord look super short?
I'm thinking the Khaos is a better choice for a flatlander like me where I don't have the great slopes and I have to create my own fun.
Heck ya!!
I agree. The Matryx Khaos 155” may just gave me cheating on my ‘Doo done day.
Great content. Excellent skills.
@@turcotte16 thank you for the reply.
Great video! would be interesting to see you compare a sled with a snowbike.
Wouldn’t that be a party!
Would the 165 2.75 khaos be a bit more planted?
Definately!! The little bit extra track makes it more tame!
@@turcotte16 well I’m currently on a pro 163. I’m thinking bout lengthening my limiter strap. Maybe just on notch. I’d like a bit more ski lift. I really just need to come ride with guys who know how to tune a sled.
Trial and error though.
Awesome content keep em coming ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Will do! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for that video! I liked the comparison. Not perfect, but that’s real world. Have you ever ridden the khaos in the 165? Much difference in that front end lift? Brother and I have identical pros but with different track lengths, and I can notice less lift with the 163. I’d like to find something in the middle of the two you rode.
165 Khaos would be a good middle ground for sure! I don’t often ride anything longer than a 155 but for some playfulness but predictability the Khaos 165 would be a great choice
@@turcotte16 That 165 is going to be a top contender for me going into 2022!
Well done sir. Im no expert ,, an only 1 weekend on my new 2021 Khaos 163_2.6. I jumped ship from 2019 Ski Doo 165 ,,, Khaos to me anyway seems to act like my Summit. Not saying its a bad thing. But i did enjoy you video. Its gonna be a learning curve for me for sure
What's the major difference between the PRO RMK SLASH and PRO RMK ?
the slash just has a shorter tunnel.
Dope sleds! Love the beat also that starts at .40 what’s the name?
Bret, You make those look easy to ride 👊
lots of hours into my trade!
@@turcotte16no kidding !
What engine is in the Pro RMK it sounds different than the Khaos' 850
Both 850 patriot engines!
@@turcotte16 Awesome! I’ve ridden a 129 and a 137 trail sleds that my uncle owns, they’re great engines on the low end and upper end!!
What are the shocks that you have on the rmk pro?
We all saw the snow conditions , ones better in the powder and that’s what it’s made for
Great video and feedback. You must have a great cardio program. If you have the opportunity, it would be interesting to see the same testing and comparing of 165 Pro/Khaos. I’m wondering if the differences wouldn’t be as much as the 155’s?
For sure the difference carries over, but with the extra length it is a bit more mellowed out!!
What Polaris turbo you going with season you must be very excited to say the least cant wait for your vids
I will be running the KHAOS boost 155
Yeah it would be nice if we had just any new sled. I have always wanted one but we can't afford it. I am 13 and I have been snowmobiling for years. I just want a new sled like a Khaos
Hey Brett. Can you explain why it wants to wheelie so much more than the pro?
Different rail profile meaning it has a longer front track shock/limiter strap. It equals more ski lift.
The rail profile at the front is a little steeper, making for a more harsh approach angle where the front of the track wants to dig more, instead of plane out on top! It makes for a fun and playful ride!
weight transfer....the khaos has longer limiter straps and softer rear shock, allows the skid to rock more resulting in more lift of the skis.
You could tighten the limiter straps up some maybe that be best of both worlds. Great vid!
@@jromem7313 or crank the rear preload....from Wyoming USA 🔫🤠🇺🇸p.s stay safe
Great video. Well explained.
would love to see an rmk pro vs skidoo turbo 850 video
Stellar!
Awesome video
Thank you!
Awesome Edit
How are the limiter straps between the two? They both the same or is the Khaos come loose from the factory ?
Both are the same setups! Only
The Khaos has a different rail profile at the front and a slighlty longer center shock, so the attack angle is steeper
@@turcotte16 gotcha. Now you should do a comparison between the two on jumping. I wonder what one you like in the air more.
@@TD3_Archery I already know the answer to that one! RMK haha
Thanks!
Yes high speed is more for the bigger impacts!
How do u compare the crf bars against the stockers?
The CFR bars so so awesome. I have a tough time keeping the stock ones straight, but the CFR bar seems to take a beating!
@@turcotte16 you prefer ur bend even over the boondocker? I have the black bend pro tapers which I think is a 5” rise and was thinking of trying a set of the cfr’s.
Of course I do, my names
On it so it’s built exactly how I want my bars to feel
@@turcotte16 ya that might have been a dumb Q, more so what do u prefer about urs vs then boons? Just trying to determine which I should try. How tall are u?
@@tappedout15 my bars are just a touch narrower, they’re 12° backsweep and they have 1” rise. I am 5-7 with my boots on
Would you say a 165 Khaos would be somewhere between these two sleds? I ride in BC and prefer the trees but not quite this technical for my ability. I'm wondering if a 165 Khaos would give the forgiveness with some 'playability', or go with a 155 Pro? Current sled is a '18 Mountain Cat 162. Thanks for any advice!
Absolutely! The 165 Khaos is a great combination of both models!
Great video!
The diffrence of those two is the lenght of the limiter strap :p
among some others, yes
Any difference with the Khaos on the new matryx chassis? I’m assuming at this point you’ve tried that as well sir?
they’re actually pretty similar in the matryx chassis! the khaos seems a lot more manageable and does a great job across the board, the RMK still the king of technical tho!
What helmet camera are you using. Picture is clear!
GoPro hero max!
No idea who you are but great video and great comparison
Thank you!
@@turcotte16 no problem! I am stilling running my old 2010 chassis with an old 700 big block
koas is sick but rmk pro for me as i love hill climbing.pretty much just less angle of attack with koas and morevwheelie time which is awesome too
