- I got to put the new 2022 Polaris Khaos Boost 155 to the test this week, what an animal!! I cannot believe the capability that this sled has! The future of backcountry snowmobiling is looking really bright with a new factory turbo option! It feels like this sled will unlock a whole new level of fun for riders, it inspires confidence, is predictable, and has loads of power!

I'm so glad I found your channel! Really inspiring seing how you ride. Bought my very first sled less than 3 weeks ago, but due to a lack of snow i've only tried it for a few hours. It's a Polaris Pro RMK 800 Terrain Dominator, so nothing crazy like you are riding but im sure it'll do for a first timer like me! Keep up the good work!

How much boost are you running?
Hey Brett, I noticed you said your getting the 2.75 over the 3” for your personal sled. I’ve been on the fence, can you tell me why you chose that track over the 3”? I was leaning toward the 3” but haven’t rode a 2.75 sled.
I love the immediate floatation of the 2.75 and it seems like the perfect balance between 2.6 and 3”
@Brett Turcotte16 Do you think there are situations where the 3” would shine? My concern is Durability with the 2.75 which I know they are addressing. But I live pretty far from any dealers and having to have this kind of repair work done is not ideal should I have a track fail.
For sure, the 3” is not a bad option at all, it has its pluses and minuses, either way I don’t think you’ll be let down by the 3” it does the job just fine for 90% of the applications!
Just the sound from this bad ass polaris makes the Doo wanna go home ;)
Love the content. I’m converting next year from a 2018 Ski-Doo Summit 165 to a NA Khaos Matrix Slash 165. I wanted the boost RMK 165 but I wasn’t able to secure one. Videos like these get me so pumped for the new sled.

Polaris needs a vgt turbo to make up the bottom end loss of pwr. Makes the turbo be able to spool at a lower rpm by adjusting the pitch of the blades inside the actual turbo.
Did you bring som ol' lady to ride the Ski Doo? Seemed kind of slow out of the hull the Ski Doo rider, I can't really believe that is all to Polaris being so much faster off the line. Anyway. I kind of feel Polaris got a job to do in regards to their naming convention. This naming thing is just getting ridiculous. But man does the Turbo'd Khaos look like a fun sled.

Usually run them within range but once they heat up and get sticky they tend to make a bit of a squeal! I just like it that way!
In the late 70’s early 80’s we use to come over from bridge lake and ride raft mtn. I am sure we went with your dad or gdad it was awesome

Ski pressure appears to be significantly higher than the ordinary Kaos. I am no fan of the ordinary Kaos since it, in my opinion, wheelies too easy instead of getting me where I want to go. Would be great to see the 155 Boost Khaos head to head with the 163 Boost pro as you did with the standard 850 in a previous video. Great job and thanks for making such great content! 👍

I am definitely a Polaris guy all the way but at the 15 min mark when they are racing up the hill Brett is poaching a track up and the doo is in untouched snow and the doo also has a huge luggage case on the tunnel. Would like to see a more even race.
Noticed the track poach to and thought it was quite humorous, I am not a Polaris or skidoo rider , I have a 2012 cat sno pro with a 12 lb boost boondocker.
Did you watch all 3 comparisons? Mostly the 3rd one where the hill is completely untracked and I still drove away from the doo turbo no issues!
@@turcotte16 yeah true but that enormous case was still on the doo's tunnel and he wasn't far behind in the untracked stuff. I do agree that thing is stupid powerful. Remove the tunnel case and do it again.
I rode a 165 skidoo turbo last year and was not impressed, it felt like a 600 to my old boosted cat lol.

I think the Polaris is faster, but that race wasn't a fair comparison, Turkey track poached up most of that face while the doo stayed to the right of all the tracks.
Agree. But the 1st and 3rd race were fair.
Sure, I did hit some tracks, the hill naturally pulled me into them, watch me trying to steer away from them. But the other two races, fully drove away from the doo with no traction advantage over the other
@@turcotte16 for sure, the third race seemed like the best comparison. We shall see what doo does in response... new fuel mapping to up the power? Time will tell if I convert to the Polaris from the Doo for the next rig. It seems like it leaps out of the snow like a Maf'k! Can't wait to try the 165 boost my buddy snow checked.

What is the limiter strap set at on the skidoo? It looks like it is set pretty loose.
Brett, if you couldn’t get a boost this year would you get an NA instead, or wait until next year and get a Boost? I ride a 2016 Axys and I’m looking to upgrade.

I was curious how you had the shocks set up, watched your earlier video where you adjusted the shocks on a 2021 khaos and compared the effects. Was impressed with how well planted the front end seemed on the boost in this video. Looking to have similar playful but predictable handling. Thanks and keep up the awesome content.

Sweet video man. Was good to see Polaris beat up on the Doo cause it's going to make Doo have to answer back. For to long Doo has been coasting giving up a little bit at a time. Competition is good for us riders 👍

It’s not actually the rev limiter, it’s the boost system regulating(bleeding the PSI) amount the keep the motor in peak rpm range at wide open throttle
Brett how would you compare it to a boosted AXYS?
Similar, more snappy throttle response, and the new tunnel really creates an effortless feel in the snow! It’s unlike anything I’ve felt before
You seem to be able to better control that better than the naturally aspirated 155 axys khaos you tested earlier
Some changes made to the whole sled package Definately helps with how the 22 khaos handles

Your thoughts on why there are less skiilift on the new more powerfull sled, I am refering to you in the video comparring a 2021 Khaos 155 with a 2022 khaos Boost?
Some suspension cal. Changes have been made to make for a more controllable khaos!

The Polaris was track poaching and the Doo was in deep fresh on that one pull. Either way, your comparing a sled running 9lbs boost vs 4lbs. The polaris will win but that wasn’t a level playing field.

@@fishsticks5175 I’m really curious as to how much reliability they are going to get out of the iffy 850 patriot with that much boost.
It doesn’t reach 9psi until you’re at 10,000’ elevation or higher. We are at 6500 here so about 6psi boost. It doesn’t really matter how much boost you’re running if the sled can’t use it properly, I’m not here to measure HP but I feel like I did a good job showing the DIFFERENCE between the doo and a Polaris, a question that has been lingering since the release.
